They're all characters I love, would be a pretty fun team, got Wally and Animal-man for humor, powerful enough characters to be a threat for the enemies, while still being balanced for good storylines, and diverse enough characters, for everyone to like, from tumblr to common comic readers.

This JL has young members with no past history together( except Dick and Babs), so, I think, it should be interesting seeing them interact and estabilishing new bonds.
This League is less powerful than other incarnations, but it still has heavy hitters and a lot of versatily

The natural choice considering he's a magic Superman expy, gives an opportunity to explore his character more too.
>Green Arrow instead of Batman
The 70s/80s version. Token non-powered hero, addtionally provides an interesting viewpoint regarding superheroics thanks to his radical socialist beliefs.
>Big Barda instead of WW
Female bruiser archetype taken to a further extreme than with WW. Also I like tall women.
>Mr. Miracle instead of MM
Can't have Barda without Scott, also both his relationship with Barda and powerset would be interesting in a standard team book setting.
>Animal Man
Present mostly as a spokesman for the League thanks to his in-universe media presence established in all runs up to date. Also to represent traditional socialist/environmentalist alliance because I always wanted to see a Buddy/Ollie team-up.
>Black Canary
Mostly because Ollie's there already. Also because I want to avoid Supes/Batfamily members and asides from Zatanna this makes her the most viable female character to use.

token tech guy; as an industrialist he might provide ideological counterbalance to Ollie, believing in working within the system to improve the status of the masses
>Adam Strange and Alanna instead of GLs
discount space cops for all your discount space cops needs, they also add potential for interesting retro sci-fi adventures

Shazam is too cool of a character not to be used more then he already is. It's a shame they don't let Billy Batson age so we can see him mature as a hero.
