Did BvS Robin really run around carrying a halberd? You know, a lethal weapon? Was Batfleck really okay with him dismembering criminals?
>>
Of course he was, all heroes in the DCEU have always been killers apparently
>>
>>82467506
I don't understand what his weapon is meant to be, what is with all the random spiky shit? What is it meant to do?
>>
>>82467506
Is that a halberd? It's clearly a lethal bladed weapon, especially with that stiletto point on the hooked end, but I can't even figure out what the thing on the other end is supposed to be, and it's kind of short for a polearm weapon, not that a true polearm would be particularly useful. Unless there was a whole Robin regiment marching in formation, but even then. They're mostly ceremonial or ornamental where they survive, because the specific role which they were created for is long gone.

I guess a better question is why would Bruce want someone armed with such an obviously impractical weapon, and the answer is because he secretly hated him for not being a billionaire and leeching off wealth creators, but it amused him to see the parasitic little bastard get beat up, and so after his death or "death" or whatever, Bruce kept the costume as a reminder of the good times.
>>
>>82467506
Snyder probably didn't think about it too much. He just thought it looked cool.
>>
>>82467611
Mystery solved
>>
>>82467506
looks like a big fancy gaffi stick
>>
>>82467506
the weapon itself is unpractical and stupid.

the only coherent explanation for me is that's the weapon used for murder Robin, so Batman kept the ¿Halberd? as a reminder ...

but my explanation is stupid, fuck Snyder!

Isn't it bad taste to exhibit the outfit Robin died in? Holy crap Batfleck is crazy.
>>
Damian Wayne often carries a fucking sword in the comics. Stop with the "not muh Robin" shite
>>
>>82467760
Probably had poor Alfred scrub out all the blood from it too.
>>
>>82467760
Yeah, what's up with that? I mean, if he wants to diplay it, why not remove the awful message left by your nemesis? No wonder he's fucked up in the head.
>>
>>82467718
Wait, so robin was literally running about with a halbard? Not a baton or stick or staff to disable people with but something with a massive hacking blade and a spiked tip to chop and stab people with?

Why the hell would he use something like that which is so impractical while being lethal, he might as well have just been using a gun which at least would be practical.
>>
>>82467775
>In Batman #6752 robin carried an axe guys! Stop this shit!

It's not ok for Robin to carry such a heavy and impractical weapon. At this point, why not just give him a 45?
>>
>>82467784
Its a grim reminder of what happens when he fails. A morbid source of motivation
>>
>>82467760

Probably a grim reminder not to take in killer sidekicks who ends up dead anyway.
>>
>>82467775
Damian is a shit. Still doesn't explain the choice of a big fuckoff axe of all things.
>>
>>82467775
Literally the entire point of Damien is that he's a little edgelord that was raised by Assassins and Bruce needs to run damage control on him.
That's why Damien worked so well with DickBats as well.

Context matters.

>>
>>82467506
>Did BvS Robin really run around carrying a halberd? You know, a lethal weapon? Was Batfleck really okay with him dismembering criminals?
You see him carrying a halberd there, right? So obviously he never left home without it, you stupid fuck. Obviously it was the first weapon he ever used and killed thousands of people with it.

And of course it's a lethal weapon. You don't expect Robin to fight crime with just master-level martial arts, flying shards of metal and a tank-car loaded up with machine guns, do you? He needs something lethal, like a stick with a curved blade on it, to really kill those fuckers.

And of course Batffleck was okay with him dismembering criminals. Don't you see all the blood and body parts hanging from the tiny blade? What do you think, he just used it to trip people? To catch weapons? That's clearly some sort of vorpal blade.

Also when Damian died Batman literally fought the entire Justice League, stole from them, invaded Apokalips single-handedly, fought thousands of parademons and beat up Darkseid himself just to resurrect him.

I dont get it.

Wouldnt it be more believable to assume Superman and Batman DONT have godlike control over who lives and who dies when it comes to major crimes?

So for DCEU, it would only make sense that Batman would consider a couple of hardened criminal murderers acceptable losses. Hell, even Superman cant save everyone. He could barely save anyone!

So why do /co/ and /tv/ always throw a shitfit over gun deaths in an insane car chase or neck snapping of a genocidal god? Because all I ever hear is "not muh Batman" or "not muh Superman" and Id really like some better answers on why you all are so triggered.

That said, you are not allowed to read this post as a defense of these movies as good. They are not. You will answer the main point.

I know man

A staff can be lethal in the right hands, but once you make one end sharp or pointy there's no more ambiguity.

>>
>>82470458
The anti murder/gun/crime thing is a big deal to Batman. It's part of his character and it explains why he doesn't just snipe people while wearing a dark jacket. Batman's unstable and uncompromising, if he accidentally/carelessly kills someone, it should affect him. Hell, it should turn his world upside down and that would make for a better story.

As for Supersnapper, I don't think people are really angry that he kills sometimes. I think they are angry because he is a negative interpretation of a positive character.
>>
>>82468924
how does a literal human accomplish this
>>
>>82467506

>>
>>82470458
I think you're missing the point.
If Batman can mow through a hundred baseline humans on a quest to get a thing to kill a confirmed dangerous alien (and yes, Clark sure as fuck is confirmed dangerous) and consider them acceptable collateral losses, then it's fucking stupid that he suddenly goes "Oh our moms have the same name! Let's be besties!"

If you want to do a guy that kills on his quest to kill a guy, you can't then have him not kill the guy. That'd be like if in Die Hard, John McClaine kills all the henchmen, and then not only forgives Hans Gruber, but goes out for coffee with him and then they become facebook friends.
>>
>>82469003
They've had 2. Rebirth isn't going to be a reboot. New 52 and CoIE were reboots. You could maybe count the silver age as a reboot but since they just turned golden age DC into "earth-2" with silver age being a completely different Earth, I'm not sure if that one quite counts.
>>
>>82470582
> think they are angry because he is a negative interpretation of a positive character.

Essentially this.

Imagine a Die Hard movie where John McClane is dark and brooding and grim.

Imagine a Robin Hood movie where Robin is a dick who murders and steals from everyone and doesn't give out his takings to anyone, rich or poor.

Snyderman is the complete antithesis of Superman. How could anyone like him?

did you not see the movies?
even lex luthor knows he cares more about martha than lois

>>

superman didn't summon doomsday to earth, dumbass
>>

Where is that established

Because Snyder had to do damage control an deification imagery.

>risked his own life
No he didn't. He was never in danger in the fire in Mexico or during the rocket explosion.

And apparently he does not enjoy doing those things. He looks like he doesn't want to be there at all.

>he cleans up after himself
Zod came here after him and people on earth were afraid of him because he never took the time to explain himself to the public and calm people down. He's an asshole and a shitty Superhero.

You can't see it because you left your fucking brains in the theather after watching this piece of shit of a movie. Go back there and pick it up.
>>
>>82471945

>Martha

That's fair.

>and he goes out of his way to save a ton of people for no reason other than he believes they deserve it

Then I sure am glad he spends all his fucking time crying about it. Good to now they turned Superman into Spawn, my favorite heroes are inveterate whiners who are written to be so unlikeable that the only reason they save people is because the narrative demands it.

Why even bother, mr. Shitposter?
>>

>The clues on the costume - Zack Snyder

Oh fuck... who killed him? What DC villain likes laughing and jokes and has a connection to Batman?

This movie is a little to smart for me - Ben Afleck, Comic-Con.
>>
>>82471970
Yeah he functionally did, fruit of the poisons tree.
Doomsday is made with Zod's DNA. Zod comes to earth looking for the Codex (in Clark's DNA) and knows to go there because Clark sent out a beacon.
>>
>>82472003
>No he didn't. He was never in danger in the fire in Mexico or during the rocket explosion.
He picked a fight with three Kryptonians to save his mother, later two more Kryptonians (and rescued various Smallvillians), the big machine to save China and Zod to save Metropolis, and Batman to save Martha
>>
>>82471840
All that shit happened because of him in the first place! Also, Lex went turbo-crazy because of how scared he was of Superman.

Nice job, Clark. Nice job threatening everyone with your super dick. Please, don't try to bond with the people living in the planet that adopted you. Let them think you're a god or something.

That's not what a lethal weapon is.

Reminder:

>There are several human skulls on a circular desk where Snyder works on his iMac. “I don’t know why,” he says. “I just like skulls.” Six axes lean against the nearby wall. “I just like axes,” he says innocently. “They are cool. I have axes at home that I cut wood with, but these are my special ones.”

I love how easily triggered /co/ is over this. As far as we know, the halberd coukd just be linked to how Robin died. Or he used it primarily in defensive way.
>>
>>82472307
>A non-lethal weapon?

It is basically a really cool looking throwing knife that is razor sharp enough to stick to walls. You're thinking Adam West era boomerangs.

It's a fuckin memorial. You don't see all the pieces of the Twin Towers scrubbed down until they shine when they're placed in memorials all over the place. They're there to remind you of what you lost.
>>
>>82472407

People ought to be used to that, the comics community is filled with retarded writers.
>>
>>82472381
I'm sorry but the batarangs are not in the same level of lethality as a fucking spiked halberd. C'mon now, Anon! That's some crazy mental ninjitsu right there.
>>
>>82472474

They're.
>>
>>82472408
That's completely not the same thing at all!

>My sister was raped
>I'll just hang her blood-stained panties in my room to remind myself of the evils of the world

That scene with the Robin suit was put there just because it looked cool. Snyder never thought of the implications it carried. Batman is a derranged person for doing that.

>inb4 'bats is crazy, anon! in batman issue number...'
>>
>>82472460
Yeah, but the stupid shit in the comics is easily avoided. It's not like they'll make 12 Batman movies a year.

BvS Batman is cool w violence and guns because dad tried to fight back. That scene made him have a different philosophy on violence.
>>
>>82473809
Pretty much every movie Batman before BVS has been cool with violence, killing and Guns. Yet people try to pretend this is not the case.
>>
>>82472682
What else would you do with a throwing weapon?
>>
>>82468194
That's just movie/comicbook physiology at work. Just like in real-life you can't knock someone unconscious and expect not to cause serious damage if not death regardless of the means unless you're a trained anaesthesiologist(and aware of their general weight and health, at least) or shoot someone to shoulder just to disarm them and expect them to ever regain full function of their arm.
>>
>>82474093
At least part of that is because before Batman was fighting guys that were clearly worse. When it's in service of killing Superman, who is at least nominally a non-asshole even if they don't sell it particularly well, it draws far more attention to it.

Not to mention you're seeing the flipside of that whole 'MUH REALISM" thing that jackasses were demanding. When you treat a character like Batman realistically, once he starts manslaughtering dudes he stops being heroic pretty damn fast.
>>
>>82472572
but he IS crazy and he did the same exact thing in the comics
>>
>>82474560
Throw it at their hands?

Anyways, Batman hits people in the face/head with batarangs all the time. They usually just bounce off though, apparently too blunt to stab.

The biggest problem is that using a Halberd in a non-lethal manner is far more trouble than it's worth. Just use the damn staff if you don't want to stab or slice the shit out of people.
>>
>>82475169
>Throw it at their hands?
Yeah, maim them for life.

>apparently too blunt to stab.
Depends, sometimes they are, sometimes they have no trouble sticking into brick walls.

Sounds like Batman.

Why doesn't Batman just cripple the Joker?
>>
>>82475138
No, not really.
He has a memorial yes, but it's a clean version of it. Which is not the same as pulling the costume off of Robin's cooling corpse and framing it as seems to be the implication?
>>
>>82475288
Isn't that what he did in TDKR?

Tomasi Batman and Robin. Cant remember the exact number probably around issue 20ish.

Is not a Batman beyond prototype is more like Spawn's suit or super evil symbiote. It was forged in the sun by Superman, enchanted with magic by WW, runs on Green Lantern energy and Speed force. And it was polished by Aquaman.

This let Batman survive a few punches of Darkseid and also made him able to punch him a few times. The suit is a power monster.

You guys are so fucking weird. Batman and Robin carry around batarangs for 70 years and you stay quiet but the movies give Robin a halberd or some shit you talk about how everyone is being turned into kilers. What do you think they do with those batarangs? They get thrown at people!!

>>
>>82475647
Well duh they get thrown at people. The thing is they never kill people. They hit people in the head than usually return to Batman.

If you're going to use a halberd in a non-lethal manner you might as well use a staff. What advantages does using a halberd give you over a staff if you're not killing people?

If you're fighting Ivy, Clayface or Mr Freeze Halbred's plenty more useful than a mere staff.

Axes have particular types that are used for different tasks, though. For example, that atrocity she's holding is for cutting wood, specifically, it's for splitting seasoned logs. It has a lot of weight in the hammer and a fairly dull, short blade at the end of a long shaft which is ergonomically curved to the task.

I can only assume she's put camo on it because she's an idiot.

A war-axe should be much lighter, preferably shorter, or a proper polearm. What it shouldn't be is a farming implement.
>>
>>82475780
I think the real question is why would you engage people who are obviously that dangerous in melee in melee?

Doesn't really speak to the intelligence of the vigilante if he's actively seeking unnecessarily dangerous situations in his already dangerous chosen profession.
