Reminder WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING CHARACTER SUBMISSIONS UNRELATED TO PART 4.

Any suggestions will be ignored and tossed in the trash.
>>
Part 4 to do list:

-Scrooge "vs" Flintheart at the rich person's club
-Stan VS Coraline and Foster’s Home Imaginary Friends/stands
-Stan VS Recess Gang (being worked on)
-Gadget's confrontation with the CoCo after obtaining his stand and how that actually plays out, how Scrooge and Stan become involved with capturing Kevin
-Capturing Kevin
-Scrooge VS Weird Al at the gala
-Gadget’s funeral could use more details
-Penny, J&SB VS Jumba
-Penny, Scrooge, J&SB VS Loeb & Bonkers
-Shaggy & Scooby VS The Hardy Boys
-Whatever is in Fred's diary (backstory, his encounters with the LHC, their motives, their fear of Lowly, going silent to avoid Daffy, etc.)
-Scrooge, Eds, & Stan VS Flintheart Glomgold
-Shaggy & Scooby VS The Crust Cousins (probably not much of a fight if they're Oingo and Boingo)
-Shaggy & Scooby + Recess Gang VS someone (Green Goblin? Vlad Masters? Someone else?)
-Where is the LHC meeting place? (the same place as the gala?) Is it in the upper class neighborhood that the building the gala was in serves as the entrance to?
-Penny, J&SB, Shaggy & Scooby(?), & Weird Al VS Snow White, Cinderella, & Aurora
-The final battle with Fred and everything that entails

I still want some design adjustments for Gadget's stand so it has those metal tentacle things with various tools on the ends of them.

I just can't see how the current design is properly equipped to repair him almost instantly.

Well, when I drew that I kind of envisioned it keeping all its tools and other assorted materials hidden in the box (the one behind the helicopter blades)

They're normally not shown, but robot limbs with tools attached to them can pop out from the box when needed.

If I draw them in it'll be a bit visually cluttering so I decided not to, sorry for the confusion!
>>
>>82202969
When I was going through the Pyg fight, touching things up, adding things, etc. I thought it'd make for a good scene for Human After All to wrap up Perfection with its tentacles/tendrils/whatever robot hoses are called and dig into it with its tools to bind it, which causes Pyg to be stuck in place, letting Gadget grab his face and slam him through a wall.
>>

That said if you post your suggestion directly to the doc under the "needs review" section near the top, Reviewfag said he'd get to it after part 4.

I'm not sure, the stand's roughly the size of a toy car so it doesn't have much physical strength (but then IIRC Human After All wasn't even meant for combat in the first place)

But then I haven't put much thought in how much stuff is packed into that box so maybe it does have enough appendages to keep Pyg immobile.
>>
>>82203368
I'm saying it wraps up Pyg's stand.

Wrapping up someone's stand has been showing to immobilize the user as well in JJBA before.

The set up for the fight is there and what they learn after it is also there, but as of right now there has been ZERO thought put into that fight. It is simply listed as happening.

So if you have ideas, it's pretty much a blank canvas.
>>
>>82202910
I need to pick one of these as a person who failed to join the LHC and died from the jawbreaker so Glomgold can gloat about them leaving everything to him in the argument with Scrooge at the rich club.

I think the Billionaires Club should be located at the foot of the hills. The hills are where all the billionaires live (aside from maybe a few and also Scrooge because he thinks it's a huge waste of money to live there).

The clubhouse itself is landmark of the town where bi-monthly events take place that everyone in town is invited to, and also fundraiser and charity events like the gala which are more exclusive.

It also serves as a meeting place for the LHC, who I treat in my mind as a more evil version of the Guild of Calamitous Intent.

At the end of part 4, somehow the Eds should come into possession of the hills now that many of its residents are either dead, arrested, or moved because they found out it used to be the hang out of a serial killer club, and they make a fortune turning it into something else, like an amusement park, or a mall where Scrooge opens up a bunch of shops.
>>
>>82204486
Richie Rich was suggested as a member who was supposed to die (and return as Casper). Maybe you can use him?
>>
>>82204747
I don't think he'd work for this

>Scrooge McDuck: "If it isn't Flintheart Glomgold. What are you doing here, yeh pernicious pilferer?"
>Flintheart Glomgold: "Why, same as you, Scroogey: scoping out any possible future rivals."
>Scrooge: "Ha, as if anyone here could ever hope to rival me, present company included!"
>Flintheart: "That's what you think, you shriveled up old has-been! Just last week ____ up and died, and you know what? He left everything to me in his will!"
>Scrooge: "Why would anyone ever leave anything to you? Did he have gold bricks for brains?"
>Flintheart: "The same reason I suspect you'd hang around a billionaires club, Scroogey. Always looking for an opportunity."
>Scrooge: "At least I'm not a vulture like you, picking at bones."

I still need something to dive this over the edge and into a ball of violence, but that's where I'm at right now.
>>
>>82204182

Pete maybe? Though he's just the only one I can think of so things feel somewhat more personal.
>>
>>82204857
what about this:

>Flintheart lies and says the deceased was a relative of him
>Scrooge don't believe it, and calls BS on him
>Flintheart then taunts Scrooge, saying that just because Scrooge's relatives are a bunch of beggars doesn't mean His relatives are the same
>Then Flintheart ask about Donald, wondering if he already crawled back penniless from his travel to the Old Country (a hint to part 5) or is already dead in the streets.
>This angers Scrooge and the brawl begins
>>
>>82205177
sounds good to me
>>
>>82205010
It needs to be someone both rich and also with a weak enough spirit to not be able to properly manifest a stand.

Almost all of the rich people being suggested have strong wills and have been shown kicking ass on at least one occasion.

>>82205177
So then

>Flintheart: "Speaking of bones, how's that penniless nephew of yours? Did he already crawl back from the old country to ask for a loan, or did he die in the streets like the beggar he is?"
>>
>>82205687
>>82205177

Man, poor donald's going to fucking die.

And not even to a corporate bastard or demon like Toph, Dexter and Max!Powerline.

Just to a random streetgang that's going to go too far.

I don't think Donald should die, I think he should become a ghost buster.

Or maybe Plucky's mom is his cousin on the other side of the family.

Donald has ghost catching experience.

But I'm getting off track.

The Once-ler could work for this passing mention of a role, though I can't see anyway to spin it that he's a relative of Flintheart's, even if it's meant to be an unbelievable lie.

Donald is a mentor figure in part 5 but besides that, We haven't developed his story. (I have an idea but i'm keeping it until we finish part 4).

>>82206153
Well, according to the image Scrooge is related to a goose (and whatever the fuck is Gretchen) and we already have Johnny and Amelia as Tom's parents. So Flintheart can easily say he is related to a human fuccboi.
>>
>>82206456
I wonder if an updated version of this would put Darkwing's family anywhere in there.
>>
>>82206366
If you can work it into the dialogue, go for it.

I'm not sure what the red line is trying to convey, or even if Scrooge is linked to the goose tree by blood or just a relative who married into it.

>>
>>82208268
Huh...

So Flintheart should say
"Once-ler was my father's brother's nephew's cousin's son, and he was a member here."

Hey, guys. Checking back in with a quick idea for world building in Part 4.

I'm currently attempting to work on a compilation of ideas for the final Fred fight, as well as fleshing out the discovery of Danny's fate. While working on some dialogue, I was going to use names for the streets around Molly's Gamble. It got me to thinking that, since MG was once a thriving gambler's town, the names of streets and such could be references to gambling. Going through the following glossary of terminology, I'd considered using the name River Street for the area where Danny was "killed", as it would reference the final hand dealt him by fate. It carries additional meaning if we end up using the same street for the final confrontation with Fred.

>River - In poker, the final card dealt in a hand of stud or hold‘em. In seven-card stud, staying in until the fifth and final round of betting is called going to the river.

For other terms, should this idea take hold, you can use this link:

>>
>>82210024
Oh, well OK then.

Should Scrooge be the one to take the first swing at Glomgold?

Something like
>Glomgold was so caught up laughing about the idea of Donald dead in a ditch, he didn't even see the cane coming until it collided with his face
>"So, it's going to be like that?" says Glomgold as he raises his own cane
>The two old ducks square off by the pool side, Glomgold makes the first move which Scrooge parries, not noticing Glomgold had hooked his cane around Scooge's leg on his way to the ground, sending him out over the pool
>Scrooge lands on top of a floating pool bed "It'll take more than just that to lick me, you miserable old miser!"
>Glomgold is already airborne, cane raised, poised to crack Scrooge's head open
>Scrooge steps to one side, causing the floating pool bed to flip up and catch Glomgold in the beak, sending him into the pool
>As Scrooge laughs at Glomgold's newfound wetness "All washed up, are yeh? Gonna do some laundering while yer at it?"
>Glomgold jumps out of the water and tackles Scrooge back onto the pool side where a full on ball of violence commences, breaking umbrella, smashing tables, throwing fancy food
>Until someone mentions "As long as they're fine paying for all this, I couldn't care less to get involved." causing them both to stop mid punch with the sudden realization of the collateral damage
>"We were just settling our differences is all." says Scrooge
>"Yes, just settling a score." as they both shake hands, trying to break the others with their grip
>"I'm sure the membership fees Glomgold's dearly departed father's brother's nephew's cousin's son already paid will cover all of this. As Scrooge goes to excuse himself."
>"You think I'll let that slide, Scrooge?"
>"Suit yer self, I've just made a deal that'll earn me three times my normal revenue this month." as Scrooge walks off laughing.
Damn, one line short.
>>
>>82211058
>Glomgold decides he's finally had enough of Scrooge, it's time to cook his goose for good this time as he turns and enters a darker doorway into the club

The last bits about who pays for the damages feel weak to me, but it's what I came up with on the fly.
>>
Adding in a bit for the Toph/Xavier the Renegade Angel interaction.

After this I will go back to Part 4.

>Toph beats Xavier in the Stand battle. Goes fucking brutal on him. He's supposed to be dead.

>He gets up, and says, "Well done, young blind girl. You have bested the spirit guru in the battle of spirits. But you are still blind. And I don't just mean that your eyes are useless, you are also stupid. You don't know what's really going on."

Toph goes from surprised that the thing didnt die. To confused. To angered. To confused again. "What?"

"The Stand User, has become the Used stander. The Stand Master is now a Stand Slave. All because of the red guy with the big buttocks."

Toph prepares her Stand for another round. "I either hit you too hard, or not hard enough, Start making sense you snake-handed freak!"

"Can't you see? The blindness in your eyes has blinded your brain! There is more going on than mere gang battles!"

"So you're saying that there's someone behind all of this?"

"Woah! You didn't hear this from me! Why did you jump to conclusions? Now you are marked for DEATH (echoes of the word "death")"

"What?"

"I must be off. If I want to avoid the pox of your presence, the taboo of your existence. The blindness of your eyes."

(Flute from Xavier Show begins)

"And so this guardian angel has completed another task (task...). Will the day be saved by the blind little stupid girl and her friend? Who knows? All I know is that there's a red man standing in my way.."

To be continued flashes ass we see Xavier heading towards a being on a road. We see a view from behind, only making out a leg and a butt that stand on the road.
>>
>>82211251

>>
>>82211344

So now the thing at the top of the to-do list is Coraline VS Stan at Foster's. What we have in the doc for this right now is

>Meanwhile Stan has been scoping out the house that Billy & Mandy told him about
>He has noticed some strange shadows in the windows, but he decides to break in to be sure that it's filled with ‘Imaginary Friends’ as Billy described
>His plan is to buy the house and turn it into a tourist attraction.
>Gadget has also arrived

>Coraline leads a group of Stands that look similar to the cast of Foster’s Home in repelling Stan
>While this is happening Gadget is having tea with Madame Foster in a secluded part of the house, unaware of the chaos that is occurring.
>Some time ago Coraline & Foster stumbled upon the LHC’s activities while trying to help the children affected by the Jawbreakers
>The LHC are threatening to harm the children they have saved should they attempt to alert the authorities
>Madame Foster hints to Gadget about what is happening through her ‘kindly old woman’ act, but it is not revealed how much he picked up on until later.

>Fosters was once a favorite hangout place for kids in town, but then a "storm" hit and it became "structurally dangerous" so Madam Foster doesn't let anyone into the house anymore until it gets repaired.

>The "storm" was the LHC threatening the children to make Madam Foster let them use her house as a way to eliminate their targets' stands so they could kill them in any way they wanted to without their victim being able to fight back using their stand.

>When Stan breaks into Foster’s, maybe he notices the chemicals and knows from experience you don't use stuff that strong that often unless some shady stuff is going on.
Foster doesn't want Gadget to know about someone breaking into the house because then there will be an investigation, and she doesn't want anyone snooping around since then the LHC will make good on their threats against the children.

(cont)
>>
>>82213599
>After the events at Foster’s the scene switches to an unknown location
>A group of people with their faces obscured discuss Mandark’s failure and Gadget
>They conclude having an interpol agent as well known as Gadget around is dangerous
>They can’t just have him killed since that would bring more heat on them
>They arrange for a scapegoat, someone to pin all the disappearances on and decide on Professor Pyg

That's what we have for that section right now.
>>
I'm running into some issues in the story.

Gadget, after developing his stand, goes to arrest the Eds since he found out that the jawbreakers are the cause of deaths throughout the town.
When did he figure this out?
We'd need to add a scene where he questions the Recess kids again before going after the Eds, but there's no way that wouldn't be forced.

Gadget also brings up a case of a stand user causing a lot of damage before dying, how could he know it was a stand user if he just got a stand that same day?
He should instead link much of the mysterious damage done to the town to stand users. Then he can go after the Eds since they had jawbreakers that give people stands, this brings them to the topic of Kevin.

Another problem is Edd knowing about Tadashi. Hiro and GoGo never mentioned him to the Eds during their fight, he only brought it up after they left.

Edd should suggest getting them involved because GoGo's powers would prove useful in capturing Kevin. When they meet, they trade info, Hiro and GoGo both realize they got stands from jawbreakers and that's what killed Tadashi. They then tell the backstory and that's when the information that a stand jawbreaker can be lethal is brought to light. That's the moment they figure it out.
>>
Funny how you all go dead quiet when there's actual plot shit to do. I've made some revisions to that section so it isn't filled with plot holes.

>The Conman Coalition are having a meeting at the same restaurant they were in at the start of the Part
>Gadget bursts in and starts trying to arrest the [Men at Work]
>He’s now aware of the existence of stands and has concluded they are the source of many of the odd phenomenon taking place in this town
>He sees Scrooge and Stan with them and realizes they must also be stand users based on the odd things he has witnessed them involved with and wants to bring them in for questioning as well
>Someone does something to defuse the situation and Gadget joins them at their table
>The Ed Boys tell Gadget that Kevin is the real distributor, and Gadget demands that they help stop him.
>Double D explains what they know about Kevin and how he will be hard to capture, but they know someone who can help, Gogo & Hiro become involved.
>Stan & Scrooge end up getting roped in too.

Then we go into their flashback, then Stan mentions he heard something at Foster's about how the stands there belong to kids who couldn't handle them, then they all realize the jawbreakers can be fatal.
>>
>>82215538

Im still here man.
>>
>>82215877

>>
>>82215877

>Fred's diary

Dear diary,

Today was quite the great day, if I should say.
Business was plentiful today, should I say.
The only problem was that objects would randomly turn into razors.
I wouldn't want to razor my wigs.
I wonder to myself though, what if a razor hit a customer.
I guess we will have to wait and see.

Love, Fred.

....

Dear diary,

I, Fred the barber, met a strange man at a harbour.
He was tall, broad and clearly forged by war.
His voice sounded like a loud roar
Akin to that of a grizzly bear.
He was equipped with a large amount of flair
Medals of honor, etc.
He looked at me oddly, and asked if I could join his club.
I declined, as any club from this man would be barbariac.
The idea did fascinate me though.
Should I investigate?

Part 2

His name was Sgt. Pepper
Quite the nice name, I say.
I eventually befriended the man
He collected old frying pans.
Quite the interesting hobby, I say.
He brought me to his club's base of operations
It was a lot like a nice pub, but it was filled with strange, freaky men.
Sgt. Pepper said I could join his club.
This offer I gladly accepted.
This action was met with great cheer and praise.
As always, this made me happy.
This club seemed perfect for me.

Love, Fred

...

Dear diary,

Eventually, I learned more of Pepper's motives.
The club was full of murderers.
No one is perfect though, right?
I asked Pepper why he formed the club.
Pepper told me that he learned many things from his time of war.
He learned that everyone is mad.
He learned that there's no way to change this
But there was.
Sgt. Pepper thought that the only way to fix it was through murdering.
Pepper would kill everyone in town and eventually create a perfect utopia.
While I didnt entirely agree with it, it made me feel....
naaaaaaaughty.....

Part 3

Dear diary,

Today, I discovered my stand.
I was fixing up my shop
Scrubbing the floor with a mop
When suddenly, a spirit appeared and looked like it would attack at any second
Luckily, I'm not easy to crack, and I told it to shoo.
It turned the aglet on my shoe into a razor blade, effectively destroying the aglet.
The spirit vanished after that.
I went to Pepper and talked about it.
He walked around the room for a bit. Then he unveiled his own spirit.
He told me it was a stand.
A stand was a reflection of your spirit, your soul, essentially .
It had abilities, and I could summon it at any time.
Perhaps the random razors were from this stand.
This made me feel...

Love, Fred
>>
>all these Daft Pleb stands

Has /co/ heard of any other groups?
>>
>>82219121
Wait, this seems a bit off.

We've got a scene already with Fred having a flashback where he first discovered his stand while giving his love, Barbara, a hair cut, who succumbed to Daffy's influence and Fred shaved her to nothing.
>>
>>82219121
Part 4

Dear diary,

Earlier today we came upon a worm.
He looked like a nice worm you could come to terms with.
He was quite the opposite though.
We asked him to join our club nicely.
He responded with the opposite though, killing one of our members.
He responded with threats to kill us all.
The threats sent by this worm sent some of our members into hiding.
I didn't hide though.
At this point, my stand, which I dubbed [FLOYD TNE BARBER], I had learned to use well at this point
I could end this worm if I wanted to.
But I didn't.
This made me feel......
naaaaaaaaughty...

Love, Fred

>>82219323
Pepper could probably teach him how to use it instead then.
>>
>>82219285
We actually reference a lot of groups with the stand names. Check the playlist up top, we have a pretty wide variety of artists represented, and that playlist may or may not have them all.
>>
>>82219406
Part 5

This club of ours has mostly ceased activity.
A duck is running amuck.
The same duck that killed my love Barbara.
I've been discussing with other club members in the mean time though.
They seem a bit... off though
They don't entirely support Pepper.
This made me feel......
naaaaaaaaaughty....
>>
>>82219406
The time line has Fred learning about his stand about a year before part 4 starts, at the same time Tom and his crew are on Fantasy Island.

Six months before part 4 starts the jawbreakers hit the town.

Lowly encounters the LHC long before either of these events, before Fred begins killing.
>>
>>82219521
>>82219406

I think Anon got a bit inspired.

We can start editing his work for the disregard to canon now.

And whooey there is a bit of that.

We are not changing the story to accomodate your slam poetry. We are changing your poetry to accomodate the canon.
>>
>>82219520
>>82219606
It's still a great read man.

I like it.
>>
>>82219606
If we rearrange the poems, it could work.

We also need it to implicate the LHC leaders who are still alive by the time Fred's diary is retrieved.
>>
>>82219520
Part 6

I learned that most of my mates are actually greedy, evil businessmen.
Businessmen only in this so they can rule like tyrants.
Unfortunately, as I said earlier, no one is perfect.
Pepper succumbed to this same greed.
The only way to end this was to cut the snake's head off.
As sad as it made me, I killed Pepper and multiple major members.
This made me feel.....
naaaaaughty...
I tried to catch the duck, the yellow man and the dark man, but they all got away.
I looked for them, but I could never find them.
Eventually, I decided it was time I stopped searching.
It was time to carry on Pepper's dream.
I am going to create a perfect, quiet life.
I'll do it for you, Barbara.

>>82219606
Only just realized that now.
Apologies for that.
>>
rewriting

Earlier today, I came to Pepper about my stand.
He knew it was very grand, yes indeed.
But he knew it could be grander.
He was a man who studied the grand Art of War greatly.
With his abilities, he taught me well.
>>
>>82219953
It's good stuff, we just need to keep in mind all the other stuff that we have already.

Keeping track of continuity is starting to become a chore, I know, since the part 4 doc is over 100 pages long now.

The third entry could be the first, the reason he's cleaning the floor is to clean up all the blood from Barbara.

Since Daffy was killed a few days after Fred's stand awoke, the LHC could start back up again and come out of hiding once the word got around.

The major LHC members we need to implicate are Cruella, Father, Hector con Carne, and Mr. Burns since they're still alive at the time it falls into the heroes' hands.
It doesn't need to name names, just give a description and the other evidence (dates Foster's was used, who made large "donations to the city" near those dates) will pinpoint them.
>>
>>82219953
Dude you have nothing to say sorry for. I got a bit carried away.

Your writing's good for the diary. Great stuff.

Whatever conflicts with canon, we can hammer it out and make it work.
>>
I came to the club as usual today.
Some of the older members came to me, and told me a story long forgotten
Many years ago, they asked a nice worm to join them.
He looked like a worm one could come to terms with.
He wasnt the worm one could come to terms with.
He murdered some of the members, and proceeded to make threats to the club.
Threats of killing them all.
The older members told me that the worm one could not come to terms with still sends threats to this very day.
For proof, the purple bear and old woman showed me the worm's letters.
These threats were freaky, to put it nicely.
I have a great feeling though that maybe some heroes will stop this menace, someday.

Here's what I have so far. What do you guys think?

>Gadget stands aside and speaks into his hand while the others talk amongst themselves. “I think I’m closing in on the truth behind Danny’s disappearance, Penny. Eyewitnesses claim to have last seen him on River Street on the north side of town, some say as recently as one week ago. If there’s even a remote chance that he’s still there, I’ve got to check it out. Wish me luck.”

>Gadget and company arrive at the corner of Progressive Way and River Street and find the area deserted as the sun begins to set in the distance. “This is it. Keep an eye out for anything unusual, fellas,” the inspector urges. As they progress past darkened windows and gated doorways, Gadget catches a glimpse of Danny in a glass phone booth and rushes to greet his erstwhile misplaced comrade. But as he approaches the booth, he finds it lacking an occupant. “You saw him, didn’t you?” The others nod in grim agreement. “I never took my eyes off of him, but now he’s gone. DANNY!? DANNY LANE!?” Gadget cries out in desperation and begins to plead, “Danny, we must speak with you. We need to put a stop to the murders that are plaguing this town and you’re our best lead. You were the only one who made the connections and followed through on the hunch. You have to know who’s behind these atrocities.”

>>
>>82220557
>The wind kicks up, blowing a piece of discarded paper into Gadget’s face. He casts it aside in annoyance, taking no notice of its contents as he continues to trudge onward through the rows of abandoned storefronts in search of Danny. Suddenly, a crack rings out in the quiet street, startling the group of investigators. Directly across from them, the pull blind of a beauty salon has sprung open to reveal a row of neatly permed wigs. Gadget stares questioningly at the newly exposed scene but moves forward at the urging of the others. As they draw nearer to the end of the street, the serenity of the still evening air is once again interrupted - this time by an electrical hum emanating from a barber shop’s pole come alight and casting an eerie red glow in the dimness of the approaching dusk. Jay was the first to react, “Yo, this is some seriously spooky shit, Inspector G. I’m all for getting the fuck outta here.”

>Unbeknownst to our heroes, they are not alone. A short distance away, Fred has been observing their movements for fear that he may be discovered. He has taken note of the odd occurrences since their arrival upon his street and watches with piqued curiosity, waiting for an opening to strike down his would-be pursuers.
>>
>>82220581
>The wind rises once more, whipping another flier into Gadget’s proximity. This time, the detective takes note of its contents - “RUN, DON’T WALK. Sidewalk sale this weekend. These prices won’t last!” A feeling of anxiety overcomes him with this didactic omen, but also a glimmer of hope. “Danny?” Contemplating the answers he’s found and brimming with new questions, Gadget tucks the flier into his coat pocket and suggests that they discuss their findings elsewhere.

>As the group beat a calm, yet hasty, retreat, Fred paces from his alleyway perch and picks up the piece of refuse Gadget initially discarded. His eyes narrow, his rictus grin unchanged, upon the realization that it is a flier for his own barber shop. The same shop whose ornamental pole had flickered to life as the investigator’s party had approached. “A poor decision on your part, Danny. This could have ended painlessly right here, but now you’ve made things so much worse for them. Street smarts may not be your strong suit. Ha.” At this, Fred turns and fades away into the inky blackness of the night.

You mentioned the reason for using River in an earlier post, but did you have one for Progressive too? The link you gave talks about slot machines that reset after winning.
>>
>>82221642
Speaking of Hardy Boys, I think I'd like to rework their stand since I'm the one who came up with it, and I think it's kind of lame to have another "x action boosts its stats" stand. I definitely still want to keep the whole clue thing since it's the Hardy Boys we're talking about, so let me know what you think of this.

Shake, Rattle and Roll can equip any item that the Hardy Boys deem as a "clue" and has total control over it. This can be used for battle purposes, ie. equipping a knife and chucking it at someone, or for actual investigative purposes, ie. enlarging a fingerprint on a weapon or isolating blood left on it. So it's actually a superior crime solving stand, it's just limited by the Hardy Boy's liberalness on what's considered a clue. I might hate this in the future and tweak it again, but let me know what you think.
>>
>>82222635
I think it might have been a reference to Danny's trannie tendencies or something? I didn't quite follow but I remember people last thread mentioning that, it's clever if that's what it's referencing.
>>82222701
But if anything is a clue, that gives the stand almost unlimited power. Like, what if a human being was dubbed a clue because the Hardy Boys are so idiotic? Seems OP to me personally.
>>
>>82222847
Just limit it to inanimate objects, or at least change living beings to [SUSPECTS] instead of [CLUES]. [SUSPECTS] can be [INTERROGATED] for information, and Shake, Rattle and Roll makes it so you can't lie while it's active. Also, having the heroes fight absurdly overpowered stands is a big part of what makes Jojo Jojo.
>>
>>82222902
When you put it like that and add the suspect bit I guess it'll work. Alright, I'm sold.

>Streak Betting - Also known as 'Progressive Betting'. A system of raising or lowering the size of one's wager based on what happened on the previous round or rounds.
Basically, it was a reference to raising the stakes since this leads to Gadget facing off with Fred in the near future. Fred becomes more overt in his attempt to erase his pursuers, while Gadget lays it all on the line to stop him.

One Idea I had is that when Fred thinks that he's gonna get found out he does something incredibly Naaaauuuughhtttyy...After one of the Ed-boys fights a TV shop broadcasts that there had been a break in at one of the Cul-de-Sac houses, and then this happens when they give the address

>"Ed, isn't that your-"
>Everyone turns towards the sudden crashing sound, just in time to see an Ed-shaped hole in a building...and the building after that...and the building after that...and the building after that...and the building after that...and the build-you get the idea!
>After Eddy Double D and Gadget finally catch up to him they find that front yard of his house is a scene of carnage and cowering police officers...Ed and [Spoon] went through them like a red hot knife through runny butter.

I'm really not that good at writing Ed (I'm even less good a writing Ed in a panic about Sarah being okay), so I don't know whether I'll continue with this, I mostly just wanted Ed to have a bit more motivation in the final battle against Fred.

So what stand are we giving Bonkers?

An original or Don't Bring Me Down?
>>
>>82233507
Just give him Don't Bring Me Down, I don't think anyone wants to dedicate time to coming up with something else for him, plus there already a rough set up leading to the fight he's in where he uses it to make Penny sink into a wall or a car and she escapes by disassembling it.

Honestly, I think it's fine to move on to Part 5 now while we work on 4 in the backround. People are pushing to 4 and only 4, and not everyone's really a writer. Same way we did 3 and 4, we worked on both at the same time when 3 was nearing being finished.

Yeah, this seems like the best option. A lot of the writing for previous parts wasn't even done in the threads.

>>
>>82236163
Considering that we're still technically on part 1 for the comic, that should be fine. Anything to bring back the momentum.
>>
>>82236163
We're never going to get part 4 done then.

Because then you'll get tired of part 5 when you hit a snag and will want to go into part 6, then you'll realize how much of a clusterfuck part 6 is with how many raw ideas have been dumped into it and want to go into part 7, then you'll realize there's nothing in part 7 and will want to go into part 8 since there's so much meta shit already going on it.
>>
>>82236163
this to be quite honest

part 4 just doesn't have a clear direction to me.

part 5 on the other hand has a clear and easily written direction
>>
I mean, is a car chase not a fun thing to write? Is it unappealing? Is it too hard to write a car chase?

You know what every car chase begins with? A goddamn steak out.

>It's late evening, the sun is just setting, they've finally found Kevin
>Gadget's in the Gadget Mobile scoping the scene with Scrooge and Hiro
>Stan is playing to role of the undercover guy going up to Kevin to make a purchase
>GoGo is down the street on her custom bike rock thing to cut Kevin off if he makes a break for it
>The Eds are on the other end of the street in a three person moped made of junk if Kevin flees that way, Ed is actually eating a steak.

There's any number of ways shit can escalate from there.
>>
>>82237743

Who is going to be the taxi driver for that chase by the way? Some random unamed joe or it will be another /co/ character just to add some flavor to the scene?
>>
>>82238543
I want to say it'd be a Yanni the Yanitor, or Eeyore type character. Someone who only exists to suffer.

Maybe Larry from Gumball even.

So Stan approaches Kevin, he's trying to be sly, so he's being overly suspicious. "Hey kid!" and Kevin just fucking bolts since Stan came out of the shadows like a demon. Stan would be like "Wait! I just want to buy your jawbreakers!" as he grabs hold of Kevin's bike and starts getting dragged down the street to where GoGo is.

Kevin is a little out of control because of the extra weight and smashes through GoGo's bike, warping it around his bike. Stan gets mad and starts turning Kevin's bike into cash money causing Kevin to wipe out.

GoGo is hot on them with the Eds and Gadget closing in, so Kevin jumps into a taxi.

He needs to do that spin thing with the taxi and clip GoGo's bike to disable it. The Eds keep going after him, while the Gadget mobile stops and Hiro takes care of Stan's injuries. Gadget uses his rocket skates to go cut them off while GoGo gets behind the wheel of the Gadget Mobile with Scrooge, Stan, and Hiro.

>Because then you'll get tired of part 5 when you hit a snag

I feel that will happen when it will have to cut down characters for the sake of not bloating Part 5's plot with too many allies/villains, as I remember seeing a lot of characters suggestions been thrown in Part 5 since while Part 3 was being written.

As for Part 4, I think one of its major problems is that it doesn't have an actual main protagonist ever since the Eds had their screentime reduced. From what I've seen so far in the story development, the focus keeps bouncing between the Eds and their associates and Gadget and his associates, and the connection between the main cast still needs to developed especially with the Eds and Gadget's detective group, as it seems they will just stay there in the second half doing nothing much except fighting evil rich people near the climax. In my personal opinion, I think the Eds should have a good motive to help Penny and cia. in tracking down Fred/fighting the LHC other than just "they are in the good guys' side", something like an actual bond you know.
>>
>>82241372
There definitely needs to be something to make the Eds help Penny and protect the town. Like how the death of his grandpa spurred Josuke to protect Morioh.
>>
>>82241612
I can see Edd or Ed being the link between the Eds and Penny, with Eddy going along for the ride because it means so much to his friends. Could be interesting if we had a chapter where Eddy said "fuck this shit", but decided to come back when his conscience gets to him.
>>
>>82241612
Maybe Eddy realizing that he can't afford to lose "investors".
>>
>>82241372
We really need some Gadget interaction with the Eds.

Maybe Kevin tries to run Eddy over during the chase and Gadget saves him at the cost of his feet getting run over, breaking his skates.
>>
>>82238840
>>82243080
Kevin's OPEN ROAD, to my understand, warps things out of his way as he moves forward, so he can just cut through buildings.
The Eds have to go around them, but their junk moped is small enough to get through alleyways, the Gadget Mobile has to go around.

Once Kevin's put some distance between himself and the Gadget Mobile, he waits for the Eds so he can run them down, they weren't expecting this and now they're the ones being chased.

They smash into something, breaking their junk moped and spilling them out across the asphalt. Kevin then revs the engine to begin running them down, he goes after Eddy first.

As he's about to run Eddy down, Gadget comes rocket skating in and pushes him out of the way, then gets clipped by the side of the car before the back tires run over his feet, breaking his skates.

Eddy sees the mangled machinery, but doesn't have time to ponder since Kevin is coming back.
Then the Gadget Mobile comes from the top of a roof since GoGo figured out how the extendo-wheels work and has melded her stand with it, giving her perfect control over its various functions. It's horrifying.

Kevin bolts again, Gadget tells GoGo to keep after him as his stand fixes his legs, then he activates his helicopter blades to take to the sky, impressing the Eds.

I'd like to work in a Terminator-like scene with Gadget punching through the windshield of the car Kevin's in.
I still need to think of how to get Scrooge involved in this so he isn't just there.
By the end of the chase, the Eds are being arrested until Gadget intervenes.
>>
>>82244106
Scrooge has a ton of influence. I imagine he's keeping an eye on the fight from the air thanks to an old friend (Launchpad) owing him a favor and calling in strategic roadblocks to slow Kevin down.
>>
>>82244307
That's better than him being in the Gadget mobile at least. Air coordination seems like it'd be a must keeping track of someone who can just cut through buildings with them closing up behind him.

Kevin can just plow through roadblocks though.
>>
So parts 1 to 3 are finished?
>>
>>82246161
More or less. I know part 2 is still getting embellished.

I see a note on part 3 calling for a Carmen Sandiego fight on the ship, but that seems totally unnecessary to me since it would ruin Lowly's entrance.

>>82246161
Yes.

Some things could be made more clear and some more dialogue added but they're otherwise complete.

>How Scrooge and Stan become involved with capturing Kevin

>Gadget walks up to Stan, a friend of his whom he knows has a very strong stand that could prove helpful in the fight against Kevin.
>"Stan Pines?"
>"Yeah?"
>"I'm going to need your help with something here"
>"Alrighty, just let me know what you need help with."
>"My team of detectives have tracked down the person spreading jawbreakers around this town."
>"Since I've been told you have a strong stand, I've come to ask you to help."
>"Yeah? But is there money involved?"
>"I can ask for a reward once we turn the criminal in."
>"Anything else?"
>"We know the name of the criminal is Kevin."
>"Kevin?"
>"Yes."
>"That kid has been making fun of me in my time here, calling me old man, dork, grand-dork."
>"Why am I surprised he's a criminal"
>"Whatever, I'll help you out."
>"Good, we'll need all we can get."
>Gadget goes up to a good friend of his, Scrooge McDuck.
>"Oi mate, how ye be doing today?"
>"Scrooge, we've tracked down the man selling jawbreakers in this town."
>"My mercy mate, about time."
>"We don't need anything like that other duck comin' around these parts laddie."
>"I agree, but will you help me chase down this criminal?"
>"Sure mate, I'll help a good friend out anytime."
>>
>>82248867
It's still an open chase.

Now that Scrooge is established to be in the air from the start of the chase, he'll be keeping them updated on Kevin's location. So once Gadget's airborne, that's how he'll know where to go.

Meanwhile the Gadget Mobile is crawling over buildings like some kind of stop motion Hollywood 1930s special effects. That's something we can just go all out on since that thing is probably as tracked out as Gadget, and is currently merged with a stand.

I guess they'll try to force Kevin to head to a river, I don't think he can drive through water since it'll flood him from all directions.
They can get him in a pincer there and Gadget can drop onto his hood to do a Terminator thing.
>>
>>82249131
What I have right now is just >>82215538 for how they all get involved.
>>
>Stan forms a motorycle out of money

I don't think that's how his stand works but that's awesome. Maybe his money clones grab some wheels and emulate those Wheeler guys from Return to Oz?
>>
>>82250466
That's too good to pass up.

Wheel money clones chasing a taxi needs to be done.
>>
>>82250882
I've added all the stuff we have for the chase so far to the doc.

It's taking shape now, and there's still plenty of room to add more craziness to it.
>>
During Stan's break in at Foster's Coraline needs to say something like "These stands belong to the children in town who couldn't control them. You should leave before yours becomes a permanent resident."

And Stan needs to blurt out "Look, lady, I just want to buy your house!" when he finally makes it to the Madam.

>>82251137
There needs to be something near the end, after Kevin has been run off the road, where Hiro confronts him and they have a stand battle.
>>
>>82251469
Baymax has an armor mode based off the red armor from the movie, right? What if he never uses it before that point, but unlocks it during the fight due to Hiro's desire to avenge his brother?
>>
>>82251987
I like this.
>>
>Stan needs to restock his supply of [Stan Bucks]
>Stan grabs a lamp off a nearby table
"15 Dollars" chimes [LOADSOFMONEY]
"15?" Yells Stan "This things worth at least 40"
"You've got to understand here pal, I've got over head."
"OVERHEAD! You're a STAND, what kind of overhead could you have!?"
"You know not many people come in looking to buy a lamp like this. I don't know how long its going to be in inventory..."
"JUST GIVE ME MY 40 BUCKS"
"I'll meet you half way: 20."
"You cheap little..."
>Enemy Stand nearly lands a hit on Stan.
"Okay okay, give me 20 for the damn lamp."
>>
>>82253090
>Stan is in the middle of a really important battle
>cornered, almost about to be murdered
>grabs something, anything in desperation
>turns out to be a cool rock or something similarly worthless

Can't argue with quads, looks like Baymax gets an Act 2. The question is, will Hiro go nuts like in the movie ("Baymax, destroy!") and have to be stopped, or will he know when to back off and willingly let the cops take Kevin because that's what his brother would've wanted? I'm thinking the latter, but the former might be more shonen/Jojo.

People just happened to see Danny in reflections in passing and thought he was actually there when Gadget questions them.

I say post in the threads. I get the feeling a lot of people haven't read most of what's been done for part 4 since they didn't bother to follow the links.
>>
>>82260493
When Gadget takes off into the sky, his stand should act in a way that gives him better handling so he isn't all over the place, and also make the whole rig more efficient, or make modifications to it while Gadget is in the air.
>>
>>82260493
You know, ever since someoen mentioned Gogo using her Stand to turn the Gadgetmobile into Metal Gear wit the serial numbers filed off I've been thinking about other combo moves the Part 4 gang could use

>Stan and Double D making some junk into a money-fueled motorbike
>Eddy realizing he can control the money clones created by [LOADSAMONEY] after he winds up getting his Stand stuck in one of them.

I can't adequately describe what the three of them combining their Stands would do, so I'll just use an altered quote from the Gravity falls finale.
>"They turned their Stands into a mech suit, fascinating."
>>
>>82261699
>"Damn, why doesn't this bloody thing fly straight?"
>Gadget hears a clanking noise and as two wing mirrors drop down in front his face, he see's [Human After All] turning into a tail rotor for his helicopter attachment. making the thing much more stable.
>"Thanks...I think."
>>
>>82261731
And yet somehow the cops still manage to arrest them before getting to Kevin.
>>
>>82261849
I wasn't implying all of these would be used in the chase, Just Metal Gear Gadgetmobile and the Junk Bike, the one where Eddy ends up in control of a [LOADSA] clone would be a complete accident during one of the pre-gala fights and is later reused during the fight the Eds have against Hector. and the Mech Suit would be best used in the final fight against Fred, maybe have Metal Gear Gadgetmobile reappear as well.
>>
>>82257297
>>82253333
Calling its advanced form Act 2, like in JoJo, is better for it having two forms than saying the two words in its name are different forms.

OK, here's what's there:

>The Conman Coalition are having a meeting at the same restaurant they were in at the start of the Part
>Gadget bursts in and starts trying to arrest the [Men at Work]
>He’s now aware of the existence of stands and has concluded they are the source of many of the odd phenomenon taking place in this town
>He sees Scrooge and Stan with them and realizes they must also be stand users based on the odd things he has witnessed them involved with and wants to bring them in for questioning as well
>The Ed Boys tell Gadget that Kevin is the real distributor, and Gadget demands that they help stop him.
>Scrooge invites Gadget to join them at their table since they can all be civil about this
>Double D explains what they know about Kevin and how he will be hard to capture
>Stan: "Kevin?"
>"Yes."
>Stan: "That kid has been making fun of me in my time here, calling me old man, dork, grand-dork. Why am I surprised he's a criminal. Whatever, I'll help you out."
>Eds know someone whose power could be useful for capturing Kevin and call up GoGo for help, Big Hero 2 joins them at the restaurant
>They share information, GoGo and Hiro realize they both ate jawbreakers before getting their stands
>Flashback:
>Tadashi comes home from buying some parts one day, put some Jawbreakers in the fridge
>The next day he is giving a speech about maximizing human potential at the university
>After the demonstration, Tadashi eats one of the Jawbreakers he bought
>He starts developing a Stand that comprises of millions of tiny black needles,
>However, he quickly begins to lose control of it and it results in the stand wrecking the building
>With everything being destroyed, the building is evacuated, but Hiro tries to go back
>GoGo grabs him and runs out the building
>The incident is ruled as the result of faulty construction, but Hiro believes otherwise
>Hiro gets one of the Jawbreakers out of the fridge later on and develops his own Stand.
(cont)
>>
>>82264836
>The group now realizes jawbreakers can be fatal
>Stan mentions something he heard at Foster’s about how the stands there belonged to kids who couldn’t handle them
>GoGo and Hiro are now determined to take Kevin down since he’s the guy who was the cause, though indirectly, of Tadashi’s death
>Gadget casts a glare at the Eds "And you told me to eat something like that?" with the Eds retorting they didn't know there was a chance of death if you ate one of the jawbreakers (Holly Kujo syndrome)

It’s stakeout time

>It's late evening, the sun is just setting, they've finally found Kevin
>Scrooge is in the air (with Launchpad piloting something that flies) doing recon
>Gadget's in the Gadget Mobile scoping the scene with Hiro
>Stan is playing to role of the undercover guy going up to Kevin to make a purchase
>GoGo is down the street on her custom bike rocket thing to cut Kevin off if he makes a break for it
>The Eds are on the other end of the street in a three person moped made of junk if Kevin flees that way, Ed is actually eating a steak.

>Stan approaches Kevin, he's trying to be sly, so he's being overly suspicious.
>The Taxi driver is either Yanny, the Yanitor, or Larry from Gumball
(cont)
>>
>>82264884
>Kevin does a spin with the taxi and clips GoGo's bike, disabling it. The Eds keep going after him, while the Gadget mobile stops and Hiro takes care of Stan's injuries. Gadget uses his rocket skates to go cut them off while GoGo gets behind the wheel of the Gadget Mobile with Stan and Hiro in the back.
>Kevin's OPEN ROAD, to my understand, warps things out of his way as he moves forward, so he can just cut through buildings.
>The Eds have to go around them, but their junk moped is small enough to get through alleyways, the Gadget Mobile has to go around the long way
>Scrooge is keeping them informed on Kevin’s heading from the air
It's horrifying, a literal road monster with teeth and buzzsaw blades at the end of metal whips
>Kevin bolts again, Gadget tells GoGo to keep after him as his stand fixes his legs, then he activates his helicopter blades to take to the sky, impressing the Eds.
>Stan gets out of the Gadget Mobile since GoGo is a crazy driver and he feels like he only has so many years left in him already
>Double D refuses to ride in the Gadget Mobile, citing his delicate constitution as the reason behind it.

Have we discussed the aftermath of the Fred fight? Like how the characters will go their separate ways and whatnot? Based on the suggestion that Interpol knows of Danny's condition, I came up with the following.

>Following the events Fred’s death and Penny’s subsequent report, Interpol permanently reassigns Danny to watch out for the town. He now acts as a silent guardian and is happy with his place in the world, seen performing small acts of kindness around Molly’s Gamble – holding a red light/crosswalk light for an extended period while an elderly woman crosses the street with her groceries, rustling the leaves of a tree to free a boy’s tangled kite, and opening a fire hydrant for kids to play in the water on a hot day. At this last scene, we catch a glimpse of Danny reflected in a nearby window smiling.

>he goes all out and kicks the shit out of Kevin, only to realize that it's not what Tadashi would've wanted and reverts to Act 1 to heal him for arrest.
>"...if I heal you afterwards, then it's fine, isn't it?"

>The cops show up and move in to arrest the Eds and Stan, Gadget gets them out of it
>Kevin is taken into police custody since Interpol has no claim to a common drug dealer, as they put it, even if he has been dealing to children
>As Kevin is arrested, he drops a vague hint about a client he sold a considerable number of Jawbreakers to hiding out in the town (The LHC)
>Gadget thanks the others for their help, and the groups break off.
>After they have left, he offhandedly remarks about his theory that a group of Stand-Users might be responsible for the mysterious disappearances/killings in Molly’s Gamble

I think the cops should just show up around this point since they've caused a huge disturbance.

Kevin gets arrested then and there, he doesn't turn himself in, he's been beat so he doesn't resist.
He drops his cryptic message that he already sold the bulk of his stock to someone else in town and then the next day the papers are reporting he committed suicide while in custody.

The LHC had him killed to keep him from blabbing. Mandark was hired through a third party and Pyg never took much notice of the high ranking LHC members, so they didn't sweat it when they were taken in by Interpol, but Kevin can name some names, so they want him out of the picture and have their corrupt cops kill him before Gadget can get Interpol involved again.

I can dig this. Anyway, I've been making some modifications to the next section of part 4 so it works better with Danny being stationary and not some mysterious moving street.

>After the Kevin chase Gadget comes back to the office. As he's talking to Penny, he mentions how his shoulders feel stiff, Penny thinks it's a joke since he's made of metal, Gadget realizes "Wait, how can my shoulders feel stiff? I shouldn't be able to feel them at all."
>He still hasn’t caught on to how his stand restores his sensations when it repairs or optimizes his body
(next day)
>Gadget speaks with J&SB about his theory that the disappearances may be the work of a group of murderous stand users
>But the trail has gone cold after arresting Pyg, the local authorities believe he was the sole person responsible, Gadget doesn't buy it, and the death of Kevin in police custody cements his distrust (he should be holding a newspaper reporting this)
>What Kevin said before he was taken away in a police car about selling a large number of jawbreakers to a single individual leads Gadget to conclude there is a group of killers Pyg was only a part of
>He keeps Penny out of the discussion for her safety

>Scrooge gives Gadget a call
>He tells Gadget there's a street people in town started calling “Danny” right around the time Danny Lane went missing
>Scrooge didn't tell him sooner since Mandark interrupted their conversation and the whole Kevin ordeal didn’t give them much time to talk, plus now that Gadget has a stand, Scrooge no longer has any reason to not tell him everything
>Jay and Silent Bob hit up the rumor mill to see what people are saying about it at Gadget’s request
>Jay and Silent Bob tell Gadget about the odd rumors they’ve heard about Danny the Street, bizarre events happen on it: seeing a detective shape in windows and certain signs changing to say "Hi!" only to immediately change back a moment later.
(next is where the really minor changes are)

>”Danny was reportedly last seen on this street before going missing, his whereabouts are currently still unknown.” says Gadget looking at a case file
>”Some claim that the street killed him, that he found the gates to Hell itself or found an entrance to an alternate dimension there. The street itself doesn't receive too many visitors, its street sign had become sun bleached some time before this incident, so now people in this town are calling it Danny.”
>”This leads me to believe that Danny may be the cause of these rumors and that's exactly why I'm heading there. I'm not sure exactly which street it is, there’s a handful of street signs that have decayed over time in the old parts of town, but hopefully a few citizens can point us to the right one. If my theory is right, Danny Lane is still ‘alive’ and, if I can make contact with him on this street, he might even be able to provide the identity of the killer who's been terrorizing this town. Come on, we're heading to Danny the Street.”

I figure having a bunch of streets where the name signs have been damaged or fallen into disrepair is a good way to make it so they still need to ask around to find the right street.

>Kevin stares at him for a second
>"You are such a dork.”
>Sirens are heard approaching
>”I’ll tell you one thing though: you're too late, someone already bought most of what was left of my current stock.”

>The cops show up and move in to arrest the Eds and Stan, Gadget gets them out of it
>Kevin is taken into police custody since Interpol has no claim to a common drug dealer, as they put it, even if he has been dealing to children
>Gadget thanks the others for their help, saying he’ll give Interpol a call to sort out where Kevin will be heading next
>Gadget offhandedly remarks about his theory that a group of Stand-Users might be responsible for the mysterious disappearances/killings in Molly’s Gamble before the groups break off

>Kevin is in the back of the police car, Loeb is the officer driving
>Kevin: ”So, is this just going to be business as usual?”
Loeb: “Yeah, business as usual.” as one of his eye shines with an odd glow
>Narration: It was later reported that Kevin committed suicide while in police custody
[Kevin, [OPEN ROAD]: Deceased]

I just can't get behind the idea of the town having built up an urban legend around Danny's disappearance, let alone having Danny's name pop up all over the place. It belittles the detective work involved and comes off too cheesy to me. Danny's only supposed to have been missing for a couple of months at most.

>>82253855
>People just happened to see Danny in reflections in passing and thought he was actually there when Gadget questions them.
This would be a better way to go about it, since the police covered up everything so it's not as if everybody would know about Danny's disappearance. People having vague recollections of his appearance because he'd shown up in a reflection caught in their periphery makes for better drama too, since Gadget has hope that he's still alive.
>>
>>82269132
This also ignores the information in the pastebin that he takes over the town a bit at a time. We talked about that in past threads. Our Danny isn't a teleporting street like in the comics.

I have a hard time agreeing with the urban legend stuff as well, but how about this? Adults are usually too wrapped up in their affairs to take notice of the small things Danny does around the town, having only noticed his reflection in passing and think it's just some guy inside whatever building he appears in the windows of, but kids (maybe the Recess gang and Coraline) have taken notice and think the town is haunted. They direct Gadget and company to River Street because the activity seems most noticeable there, which is actually Danny trying to frighten kids away from Fred's shop for fear of their safety.
>>

It's the rumor mill as told by two stoners.

>>82270098
He's not teleporting here, the changes were made to establish that very fact.

There's a bunch of streets in town where the names have worn off, one of those streets is where Danny was last seen and people started calling that street Danny, and yes they catch glimpses of a detective in the windows there.
>>
>>82270304
This seems like a fair compromise and it fits a bit better.
>>
>>82270304
Well that makes sense, but he still should be limited to River Street and a few connected streets by the time of part 4 since he's only had the two months to branch out.

The epilogue can state that he eventually connected with the whole town.

>”Some claim that the street killed him, that he found the gates to Hell itself or found an entrance to an alternate dimension there. The street itself doesn't receive too many visitors, its street sign had become sun bleached some time before this incident, so now people in this town are calling it Danny.”
I'm not sure about the "street killed him thing", but perhaps the kids are under the impression that a local construction site which opened shortly before Danny's disappearance somehow opened a gateway to Hell (think the hole in the movie, "The Gate") and has led to these strange occurrences.
>>
>>82270513
I can work with that. Maybe he's inhabited just a few blocks during the time since his "death" at Fred's hand.
>>
>>82270606
That line does need to be re-worked if we're keeping it, it probably needs to be said by Jay as one of the rumors he's heard while looking into the street where weird shit happens.

Now, are there still multiple streets with their name signs scratched off or sun bleached, forcing them to wandering around town checking each one (a map wouldn't say that a street's name sign has been damaged) until the Recess gang point them in the right direction?
>>
>>82270326
>It's the rumor mill as told by two stoners.
It's even funny to think of Jay & Bob considering the word of kids as viable leads (maybe they just stand outside a convenience store the kids frequent to ask questions to passersby), while Gadget is out interviewing adults for "serious" leads. It isn't until both their findings intersect on the mention of River Street that Gadget begins to think there may be something more to it.
>>
>>82270846
Are they just asking about which street weird things happen on?

Someone tells Gadget they say some guy dressed kind of like him in the shops at River Street.
Kids say River Street is haunted.
>>
>>82270988
Gadget gives a description of Danny and/or shows a photo to those he questions, while Jay just asks if anyone's seen some weird shit going down in his usual crass manner.
>>
>>82271045
Does Scrooge still tell Gadget about some rumors of odd occurrences beginning at around the same time Danny disappeared?

Right now that's what puts him on the trail in the first place.
>>
>>82271537
Maybe the Recess kids should tell him instead, like Zum was saying? Or maybe Scrooge just knew Danny because Danny questioned him, what with Scrooge being one of the most important people in town?
>>
>>82270988
>Gadget interviews a middle-aged woman
>"Ma'am, I'm looking for the man in this photo. Have you seen him around?"
>Oh, yeah! I saw him just last weekend. I was over at the River Street salon treating myself to some "me" time. When Babs, that's my friend Barbara who owns the place, asked me to take a look at the results, I saw him walk past the window in the mirror."

>Jay and Silent Bob stand casually outside the Molly's Gamble general store, beatboxing to pass the time
>The Recess gang stroll past on their way inside
>Jay steps forward and in a hushed tone says, "Yo, youse guys seen any weird shit around here."
>TJ answers, "Back off, creeper. We don't want any trouble."
>"Nah, it ain't like that, little man. Me and Lunchbox here are on a mission. Buddy of ours is looking for somebody."
>Mikey pipes up, "Well, if you want strange, there IS the River Street Phantom!"
>Spinelli agrees, "Yeah, we can't go anywhere near the place without something weird happening. Not that any of the grown-ups ever believe us..."
>Gus says, "I heard that the new construction site opened a gateway to the underworld and unleashed evil spirits on the town."
>Gretchen retorts, "That's nonsense, Gus. Empirical evidence suggests that the recent lunar eclipse and resulting planetary alignment has opened a doorway to another dimension which is behind these strange phenomena. "
>Jay stares blankly.

It's been ages since I've seen Recess, so feel free to suggest improvements to dialogue.

Not bad.
>>
>>82272165
I really think Scrooge should be involved with setting Gadget on the right track here.

The only way I can think to do that is him telling Gadget rumors of strange things happening started around the same time Danny went missing.
>>
>>82272567
Seems weird that Scrooge would know about the rumors, though. Best way I can think of to deal with that is he overhears someone drunkenly discussing it right before he and Glomgold get into their tiff at the club. He scoffs at it at first, but after seeing what some of the weirder stands can do he reconsiders and passes it on to Gadget, just in case.
>>
>>82272567
Were we still introducing the Eds in a construction site? I'd forgotten about it until now, but that could tie the rumors to their site and perhaps Scrooge owns the property they're building on, so he's heard the rumors too?

If the site is within the couple of blocks that Danny's taken control of, perhaps an accident occurred while Scrooge was on-site and something miraculously averted the death of a worker.
>>
>>82272695
Scrooge always has an ear to the ground for rumors. With the kind of life he's lived, more often than not there's some truth to them.

>>82272746
Odds are the Eds wouldn't have gotten hired to do the job in the first place if Scrooge owned it.
>>
>>82273104
It could be Eddy used Money For Nothing to have the manager [GIVE] them the job. It's not like Scrooge himself oversees the hiring. Hell, maybe he finds out they're basically scamming him with cheap construction and that's how they lose the job and go back to street scamming for the bet.
