I'm still pissed that they killed Pat off-screen. In fairness though, he was a very poor teacher. Toxin's questions and concerns about morality and practice were perfectly valid ones but he just brushed them by saying "That's the way it is" or "Because it's the right thing to do" with no context or exposition.
I'd love to see him being educated about humanity. A Toxin series that actually asks the difficult questions and doesn't shy away from the existential quandry.

I enjoy space knight, especially the latest arc. Don't go into it expecting the same thing as before and it's pretty fun. Venom vol 2 is obviously better, but Robbie Thompson is doing the best with what Bendis gave him.
Anyway, we have something to discuss now with the new comic this fall. Really sad to hear it's gonna be a new host and not Flash, but I'm still gonna pick it up.

What is the most appealing part of the symbiotes ?
For me:
- The look. Say what you will about the 90s, Venom and Carnages designs are just so cool and give a great template for variations.
- Having a more monsterous character with an alien mind be a main character
- How each host has a different relationship with his symbiote
- The corrupting aspect

Venom has always been a favorite character. I always thought having an alien partner to help you do things, be your clothes, and help you eat brains would be interesting. It's symbiosis, but the comics more often than not treat the symbiote like a parasite, which is disappointing.
I think that's why Venom and Carnage click moreso than the other symbiote characters,

Also why does issue 1 of Spider-Gwen start of referencing a dozen other comics and feels like I missed ten issues at the start?
I really, really like when symbiotes are sad, or confused. It's kind of hard to pull it off for the artist, but the contrast always pleases me.

Honest question. Obviously Spaceknight costume is one of the worst Venom outfit's we've gotten (Though I admit, it's grown on me with Olivetti's art).
But if you were put in the same position to redesign Venom for space, how would you go about it? It must be fairly different from classic Venom or Agent Venom, but similar design elements are allowed.
So I recently had a dream that Renew Your Vows Spider-Man took over as the main one, and that the original was the new Venom they are teasing. (That doesn't mean he has to be evil.)
Also I asked this question once in a thread a long long time ago, and I just remembered it so I'm wondering what some other people's opinions are.
What do you think a religious person's response to bonding to a symbiote would/should be? Would it be viewed as evil, and poison of the soul even if the symbiote is good, or would it just be accepted as a natural thing, considering animals have symbiotes of a different kind?
Eddie's views don't count because he basically had symbiote PTSD, and the symbiote was pretty bad.

The look is what got me into most of them.
After that I looked more into them, but at first the look is what usually attracts me. Venom looked cool, so I liked him. Carnage looked cool, so I liked him. Mania looked cool, so I liked her.
The only exception is Anti-Venom, who's look I eventually did warm up to but at first I was confused by it more than anything.

It's no Agent Venom or Classic Venom but it's still better than Gargan Venom.
