He was Vader's Master and he was never going to give him any knowledge that would actually put him over the top. It's canon from Lucas and Storygroup that Vader is 80% as powerful as Palpatine. Immensely powerful but he will never surpass that 100% because of his injuries. That's the point. If Anakin was not wounded from that experience on Mustafar, he would have overtaken Palpaine. Palpatine even mused to Yoda that Vader would become more powerful than either of them. Sidious is powerful but he never could have stopped an uninjured Anakin.

There was at least one quote from Lucas posted. Most times I've seen the conversation come up it devolves into arguing over whether he lost midi-chlorians from his severed limbs or not. I don't know. Probably, but I'm still not sure it matters. Usually people hate it and bad things happen when midi-chlorians are suggested as power level indicators. Actually just power level talk in Star Wars period causes problems.

Vader/Anakin is stronger than he was in Revenge of the Sith. His connection to the Force has deepened and he has a greater understanding of it. He's learned from Mustafar to be patient and more trusting in the Force. You see evidence from this in new canon. As great as the current canon is, there really isn't a lot of stories that don't revolve around already established movie characters. And the ones that aren't are always randomly throwing established characters into the mix. I would love to see a new series of movies, tv shows, and comics based around brand new characters, planets, and situations we have never seen before. Not a single cross-over with the mainline Star Wars AT ALL.

I don't think we ever heard exactly why Sidious kidnapped Maul from Talzin. I think sensing his potential is a logical enough possibility, though given how far ahead Sheev likes to plan maybe a kind hostage to keep Talzin in check. He turns her own son into his Apprentice and has Maul's full loyalty but then Maul "dies" on Naboo. I really don't think Sheev planned for that.

So Aftermath/Lost Stars told us that Wedge joined the Rebellion because the Empire not only hurt people close to Wedge, but also because Fulcrum recruited him. He was then sent on a mission that fucked him up and left him on a volcano, that lead to him being on shit-tier duty for the Rebellion and meeting the other ANH pilots.
How much of this will we see or have corroborated by/in Rebels?

Most likely they didn't find them emotive enough without human eyes, though I suppose if people are really bent out of shape over it they can treat it like Anakin's eyebrows in the season 2 finale. We know Anakin doesn't have them, but they added some in just for that scene to make him more expressive. The eyebrows apparently aren't considered a retcon, though. Or Vader routinely shaves them off but forgot on the day he was destined to fight Ahsoka.

You're equating things that don't necessarily follow, such as first off assuming Palpatine is disappointed in Vader at all for his injuries. In fact we saw him impressed and gloating in Vader's display of power against those droids when he was told he had killed Padme.
In the comics he was disappointed that Vader had failed him too often recently, first in allowing the Death Star to be destroyed and then a major weapons production facility taken out in the first arc of the comic. This is when he starts planning his tests for Vader. If Vader had died it would prove he was weak. Instead he overcame.
Really you just seem to have a very odd interpretation of comic events.

The First was the Grand Inquisitor and their isn't a brother and sister for each number but rather the Fifth Brother is the 5th of them, the Seventh Sister is the 7th, and so on.
Though I don't know if they are numbered for power or rank or when they joined. FB and SS seemed to be of equal rank under Inqy though so maybe only Grand really matters.

Vader says to Sheev's face that all the talk of this being a test for Vader meant nothing because Vader is fully aware that if he'd died the Emperor would merely give the same speech to the victor. But at the same time Cylo is doing things against the Empire that it's very possible, even probable, that the Emperor could sense. He was always good about detecting threats to his designs. Not that it's infallible of course. He manipulated the events on Endor but never counted on Luke turning him down or Vader turning on him.
Cylo as with Thanoth, I think. These men can see how if you get too close to the Emperor, if you learn too many secrets, you're only marking yourself as a dead man. Maybe not today or tomorrow but eventually.

Thrawn is neat because of the art gimmick, but his role in the Thrawn trilogy is just to repeatedly either lose military battles or not succeed at catching anybody, including Talon and Leia

I definitely think zombies are overdone, but I do like that Death Troopers exists because it proves you can do survival horror in the Star Wars universe. I've always appreciated books and games and comics that took the Star Wars universe and stretched it in new directions.
