This series was 5 issues
4 of them were okay to bad
1 of them was the best Punisher comic in a LONG while.
Lets read the good one
Jason Latour
Connor Willumsen
James Campbell
Cory Petit
It feels like betrayal when you prefer the Corporate work to the Small Press stuff but goddamn I love this issue.
That is all I was planning on story timing but who knows as long as this thread is around I might think of something else.
Well that was nihilistic
>>84539393
That is a good suggestion for what to pair this with.
As long as we are traversing in Nihilism we may as well take it to the extreme with another not that common Marvel artist doing a single issue.
Even under MAX it kinda still surprises me that Marvel published this.
>>84539284
LOL
I didn't like any of the MAX series. Sure they're cool an action packed, but it makes Frank a soulless killing machine somewhat motivated by a twisted sense of justice and revenge and the rest motivated by his love of killing- not a very complex or interesting character. Frank is so much more when given a chance to interact with other characters and show off his personality rather than just the barrel of his gun.
>>84539584
That isn't the Punisher anon
I also think it is flawed to think that because The Punisher is this force of nature that there is no personality to be found in the comic. The personality is found in how people respond and react to him not in The Punisher.
Also this idea that every character needs and arc and has to grow or change over time is really boring too.
Some work better as forces that propel other characters and the plot.
Which Punisher Max had the one with the sex traffickers?
>>84539647
That is middle of the Ennis run if I remember correctly.
>>84539624
yes. this is why i like the Frank as Slasher Villian stuff.
hell that was the trick of Max, "Look at these awful people about to be completely destroyed.
>>84539108
Frank's been franked
>>84539700
MAX is this amazing almost walk across and over America and the American Dream.
The best rendition of The Punisher on film or TV is Anton Chigurh
>>84539257
That's fucked up
>>84539647
The Slavers
And Naked Kill
>>84539072
>second panel
oh God. This looks like these half illusion face shit or whatever it is called.
>>84539511
I hold this in my head as the canon end to the Marvelverse.
>>84539511
Hulk: The End was also grim.
I used to think they were supposed to be set in the same continuity.
This next string of pages are just pure perfection.
>>84539946
There is Grim and then there is the last 8 pages of this comic
>>84538986
Thanks anon
Its that kind of nihilism that is so perfectly pitched that you can't look away from.
>>84539739
What was he in?
>>84540048
No Country for Old Men
Have a lovely day and weekend everyone from your friend and mine
The Punisher
>>84539584
Sorry bro, but he is a semi-soulless killing machine. The MAX series just showed what he'd actually be like. A psycho with a "code of honor" is still a psycho.
>>84539783
This feels like a not terrible version of Marvel Ruins.
>>84539908
>All those Jew noses
>>84539978
>There is Grim and then there is the last 8 pages of this comic
I dunno, I just think they're a good double feature. One is a man slowly dying accomplishing one last act of warped vengeance, the other just a man slowly dying because there's nothing else to do.
>>84540057
why is he a midget?
>>84540097
Funny how the this is the only realistic way Frank could actually win
>>84540289
You are just bad at perspective and sizing things anon
>>84539997
I had never heard of that Untold Tales issue until now it was awesome.
>>84539946
Might as well dump the finale to that.
>>84540523
Since I have it lying around.
This is my favorite flavor of Punisher, as far away from what anyone would call someone to look up to or emulate, and far from a person.
Well, this thread got progressively happier.
>>84540523
>>84540550
This seems like a pretty bad comic.
>>84538986
really great comic reminded me of flannery o connor's approach to violence
>>84539284
Frank'd
>>84539132
>>84539158
I love the neck veins
>>84539624
>>84539632
>And I told Corben to draw 2 pages of literally nothing, he did it! Absoluete Mad Man!
>>84539860
lol, did his head become flat?
>>84539997
The Dwarf Gang getting Frank'd in this universe is like that, wow. Aim Low was so good but they actually succeed in this one before they die.
>>84540353
Ennis actually made a good ending for him, that is awesome I think. I always thought he will be executed in chair or something. It is a really good ending for him and I am happy for that.
>>84539200
>Small Press stuff
Like what? Image? lol. They've been a major publisher since day one.
>>84539284
pffft
>>84539511
>Corben
Sweet.
>>84539739
Chigurh is impassive, disturbing character whose lack of depth chills to the bone. Punisher is a shallow justicefag whose lack of depth leaves the reader disinterested.
Is border crossing worth buying?
