The update has gone through a few iterations to address pacing problems with it. Originally it was a lot simpler, when I thought I'd get it out before the merchandise campaign was over. At this point. though, I'm mainly trying to make it work for "archival readers", who are taking the whole archive in one go. That means I'm putting some extra effort into it, since a few extra weeks won't really make a difference.

The simple answer is that I made Katia the "normalish" type because the comic is based off Oblivion, and Oblivion did it for technological reasons.
I did make an effort to tie it into the story, though. I'm not sure if I ever outright say it or just imply it, but Katia's parents were not particularly feline in appearance, and before coming to Cyrodiil she was the most "animalistic" Khajiit she had ever met.

I'm not sure if it counts since it's canonness is debated and I'm pretty sure Kirkbride has spoken out against it, but I actually really like this worldbuilding bit presented once that suggested with every kalpa, the the roles of the gods and daedra cycled around. Like, kalpas in which the entities we know as daedra were aedric gods and vice-versa.
Official canon or no, I really do dig that kind of stuff in stories. It's one of the things I liked about Homestuck: how the exact same Jack Noir or Wandering Vagabond could end up taking on completely different roles depending on the universe he was in.

Ohmes are supposed to be almost indistinguishable from Bosmer (since they both come from the same original species) and Dagi are described as monkeys with vaguely feline features. Oh. I just chalk that up to Bethesda trying to be cute by giving the Suthay-Raht in each game a different feline archetype. Morrowind is clearly based on Tigers, Oblivion are lions, and Skyrim are bobcats. All of these exist simultaneously and there's no reason at all for them to be geographically distinct, but they just pick on feline archetype and go with it for the whole game. I can't necessarily blame them. If they didn't, they'd have to spend as much time on Khajiit alone as they spend on every single other race combined.

The khajiit in Skyrim are definitely made to more closely resemble smaller species of cat like house cats, lynxes, caracal etc. Depending on what sliders you play with they can look like larger breeds too, although in Oblivion they definitely looked more like panthera family cats. Hi, I'm doing okay but I have something to inform that might disappoint.
I've decided to put the comic on hiatus until further notice. I was working on a new update but I had been thinking and started to come to the conclusion that maybe the command style of storytelling wasn't working well for the story I was trying to tell. I and couple other people on /co/ were thinking this same thing.
The other thing is that I just don't think Eagle Time Forums has enough users/readers to keep putting effort into it. There has been some discussion that MSPAforums might return at some point, so I might take a look at it again but we'll see.
Now, this doesn't mean that I'm completely canceling/scraping the comic, it's just not my primary focus from now on. I've started to work on a new comic project. I actually was starting to work on this a while ago but then came /co/'s revival of Glint and i decided to go back focusing on that. This new project is still in heavy work in progress but it will be a new story that won't be told like Glint, it will be like normal comic but there will be some similarities in it and who knows, maybe you will see Cayla at some point again.

For what it's worth, you shouldn't feel too bad about a small audience. When you're just starting out, you're going to have a pretty tiny audience no matter what, and if you take it as an incentive to stop and try again, you won't learn the lessons you need to actually get a larger one. Speaking personally, I think the first Forum Adventure-type thing I ran had an audience of maybe 12 people for like three years. I couldn't've made something more popular without the lessons learned there, though.

Are you referring to the dossier the Thalmor have on him? Because how they consider him an "asset" is extremely vague and is in no way proves he was a "plant". I'm pretty sure they saw him as an agent of chaos and only in controlled amounts. The same dossier points out that the Thalmor only provide enough indirect aid so the Civil War conflict can be extended as long as possible. A Stormcloak victory would not benefit them in the least, as explicitly stated in the same dossier.

Saying the Empire is necessary to beat the Thalmor is like saying the French Resistance was wrong because only the Vichy government can stop the Nazis.
