>There's a baffling lack of asian bitches in /co/ related media.
No there isn't. It's even a meme that there are so many.
Never in all these years (I count at least 10) did it occur to me that Jubilee was asian. Not once.
>>84503855
blame the frog poster
>>84503856
>It's even a meme that there are so many
No it isn't.
>>84503924
Yes, it is.
>>84504130
There's nothing in there about there being "so many asians" or any "memes".
>>84504226
Read the air, anon.
>>84503858
She was white when she was first made but because she had black hair and brown eyes it made it really easy to go "lol she azn now" when they needed more diversity
Oh yeah and her name is JubiLEE which makes her either southern or asian
>>84504896
When was she ever white?
>>84505025
In the old Gen X Movie.
>>84503858
She was always Asian
Jubilation Lee. Lee is a Chinese name.
Idiot.
>>84505775
Lee is also an Irish name.
>>84503858
The X-men love racial superpowers
>Russian guy turns to steel
>japanese guy shoots radiation
>chinese girl shoots fireworks
>Irish guy is loud
>>84505929
Wit' a pint in me, oi scream 'n kick! Th' name is Banshee, the foightin' mick!
>>84506604
This looks fucking amazing. Where can I download this? Is there a single collection of it or a download that compiles everything from it?
>>84506977
The series is called Hondo City Law and was published in the Judge Dredd Megazine. It's been collected in the UK and the US, but no single volume has all the stories far as I know. There's a nice torrent with all of the Megazine out there, so you can get that and then check the Hondo issues.

>there will never be a universe where cute british betsy is asian
;_;
That's because the west always makes the same asian girl over and over and over and over and over. They don't understand that asian girls actually can have different personalities or be closer to western culture than they think, they always just make "that one dark squinty ethnic girl with the exotic short black hair with colored streaks".
Ironically one of the best ones is the one OP posted, Jubilee, whose "asianness" isn't her one single defining character trait.
>>84507765
Shut up.
No one cars.
>real
>/co/
Pick one.
>>84505914
So her power is building railroads and being beaten and then celebrated by Americans?
>>84507765
>short black hair with colored streaks
Where does this meme come from? I've never seen this.
>>84508110
Mostly surfaced around the time Pacific Rim came out.
>>84508173
And Gogo Tomago.
>>84508173
>>84508279
It long predates both of those examples.
>>84507765
>short black hair with colored streaks
I imagine the thought process is this:
>have asian girl character
>"We should make her hair a funny color like those Japanese animes."
>"But that would look silly."
>Okay, just give her a colored streak."
>>84508173
Juniper Lee was around before Mako Mori was a twinkle in Totoro's eye.
>>84508371
Probably more that just a mass of pure black hair is hard to animate in movement.
Elisa Maza had dark blue hair for this reason.
This is now a cute Jubilee thread. Everyone else can kindly GTFO.
>>84503597
>this the kinda nigga with a facebook
Oh damn.
>>84505914
Come to think of it, I think there are some black people with that surname too.
>>84508336
Titan A.E.? Nah.. has to be even before that it started.
>>84508772
My gut instinct is that it originated or was popularized in the 80's, it seems like a very punk/cyberpunk thing to do.
Having a single lock of differently colored hair, however, might predate that. The truth is that I just don't know.
>>84508582
Yeah, but they're just using it as a short form of Leeroy.
>>84508982
It's a thing actual Asian women do with their hair. I don't know why people complain about it when its in the media.
>>84507769
unf
>>84505025
Never.
>>84507765
abloo bloo bloo they arr rook same.
>>84508543
> Jubilee
> cute

>>84510323
nevermind found it myself
>>84509411
Did she say "nothin' personnel, kid" on the next page?
>>84510373
that bitch white as fuck
>>84504896
Her name was always jubilation Lee. She was never not Asian. Also she had blue eyes until the 2000s. Look at 90s books like age of apocalypse she has really blue eyes and they say it is due to a mutation
>>84510400
She's autistic. She barely speaks except in short sentences and only a little here or there.
>>84508095
That works just as well for Chinese as for Irish.
>>84508582
More like southern people.
>>84511414
Is she supposed to not be naked?
>>84510400
It was actually extremely personal, so no.
>>84503305
They ruined Jubilee by turning her into a generic vampire.
>>84512292
THIS
>>84504896
She was never white.
They just never had her in dragon clothes and shit because she's American.
>If you ever touch me again, I shall shatter three bones in your arm: the humerus, the radius and the ulna.
>I shall shatter them in such a way that shards will protrude into the nerves, causing intense pain.
>Your arm will thereafter dangle from your shoulder like a dead fish.
>Do you understand?
>>84507173
Do you know EXACTLY what issues it's in?
>>84513120
Sure. The first Shimura strip ran in Volume 2, issues 37 to 39. The next were in issues 50 to 55, and then 72 to 77.
In Volume 3, there's one in issues 14 to 19, a one-off in 21, and another longer story in 31 to 38.
And finally, in Volume 5 (the most recent one) there's stories in issues 224 to 226, 228 to 230, 238 to 243, 298 to 303, 324 to 325 and 332 onwards.
>>84513334
Thanks.
Now I just need totrack down all those issues.
>>84513334
So that's every Hondo City Law story?
>>84513408
Good hunting! If you get lost, try Comicvine. They have lists for characters and their appearances in each volume, so you can look up Inaba, Shimura or Hondo City and you'll get a checklist.
>>84513434
Yes. The only one missing would be Our Man In Hondo, which was published in the progs, but it's actually a Dredd story rather than a Hondo City Law one.
It does introduce Hondo City and is included in the TPB, so if you're interested, it's in 2000AD issues 608 to 611.
