Johns arbitrarily aging up the Babby Guardians Kyle created was a mistake.

this is an excellent point
The Hulk dying spoilers aside, with all the preview catalogues and certain solicits, we vaguely know what's going to happen to some characters by the end of the event.

I put in that qualifier because, compare some of the Millar "hey, go nuts here" things with, say, Yale/Ostrander Manhunter wherein the dialogue clearly matched the flow of the action in details, etc.

>>84501805
Because length is easy, concision is difficult (as I discover writing to word count) and you have to go over things repeatedly to cut fat and yet make sure it flows.

this is the most hilarious thing to me

like if they didn't tell us that CW2 was shat out in 3-4 months, THIS would be the thing that told me how rushed this event was

there is no build up at ALL except for a few books unnecessarily having 1-2 part "Road to Civil War 2" issues

if it were thought out like the rest of their events and some dc events, they'd have the incidents be more organic and naturally occurring rather than little flashbacks

#3 was so fucking bad

>Far away on the planet Meta, Loma’s going nowhere fast. She’s dropped out of school, dumped her boyfriend, and is bored out of her mind. She longs to feel things. That’s where her idol, the lunatic poet Rac Shade, and his infamous madness coat come it. Loma steals the garment and makes a break across galaxies to take up residence in a new body: Earth girl Megan Boyer. Surely everything will be better on this passionate primitive planet with a dash of madness on her side and this human girl’s easy life. Only now that she’s here, Loma discovers being a teenaged Earth girl comes with its own challenges and Earth may not be everything she thought it’d be. Megan Boyer was a bully whom everyone was glad was almost dead, and now Loma has to survive High School and navigate the consequences of the life she didn’t live with the ever-growing and uncontrollable madness at her side. Not to mention that there are people back on her homeworld who might just want Shade’s coat back.

Not to sound arrogant, but I know exactly what to do with her. Have her make spaceships. She's getting kinda used to this whole space adventures thing, right? And she has access to highly advanced technology which she could use to take advantage of Earth's severe lacking in space travel tech.

You've got Carol's own hangups with space shit vs her inner ruthless businesswoman. Various Ferris Air employees make a for an easily crafted supporting cast. The board of directors can serve as devils on the shoulder. Bring in some military types who want to strike a deal to weaponize the new tech. This shit damn near writes itself, so just do that.

Also, there's more than one kind of Love, DC. Maybe try exploring that a little.

Think about it, Diana's a princess, Clark is a farm boy. Just harlequin that shit and play up the princess and the pauper aspect and you might've had a relationship that wasn't bland drivel.

Or, they could've just not bothered with this tripe, since the only thing that came out of a it was a dreadfully mediocre book that was only entertaining for the brief amount of time Circe made Magog into her evil Shazam boytoy.

let us all forget everything about Harvest until I hurt you all with "Captain Manhattan isn't an awful run but everything else tangentially Nate in the N52 is!", the bits we didn't see yet

J'onn is a Big Damn Hero

Go ahead. I've only ever played 4. Though I seriously want to play SotN cause it looks like my jam. Also, Alucard is a very pretty man, and I find this amusing for some reason.

I've only played the three DS games but they were pretty awesome

that's the end of the trade, so let's leave it there!

thanks for reading, more tomorrow, and I'm going to try to catch up on recent comics so I can bore you all with my opinions.

how did you ever contribute to JSA, David

Feels like miscommunication might be at play, maybe DC downplayed how much final say Rucka would have on things. And if there was that kind of preexisting grudge and Rucka wasn't comfortable from the start maybe they never should have been put together to begin with.

thanks OP!

Thanks for posting as always, Storyteller.

>so I can bore you all with my opinions
Isn't that more or less the entire point of a forum?

Also, most of the League looks stoned as fuck in that group shot.

That all could be true, sure. There's probably some variant of Hanlon's razor here, right? Never blame individuals when editorial will suffice.

Thanks again OP

It's bringing back the Perez universe which was the standard for years until dumb writers on other titles mischaracterized her in crossovers.

This idea that people are constantly trying to reinvent Wonder Woman is simply not true, outside of JMS and Azzarello. And of course the very interesting O'Neil version we all read here.

Since when does Guy have that kind of imagination?

The second guy to write Wonder Woman after Marston kicked it, replaced her entire supporting cast, turned her mum blonde (and gave her an admittedly cool father) and changed her entire origin around.

Not only that, but when he left, he took all the characters he created with him, writing them out of existence within the damn story.

>now I want, IDK, a Carol book with the level of thoughtfulness of Nate's old run

Any book with that level of thoughtfulness would be good, but how many of them ever really get done?

That book was a delight, and I think I'd pick it up if it got a nice set of reprints.

From the games I've played?
Order of Ecclesia > Aria of Sorrow > Portrait of Ruin > Harmony of Despair > Circle of the Moon > Dawn of Sorrow > Symphony of the Night (I played it last, after the others, so the fact that it set formula doesn't work for me since Ive played it in other games) >>>>>>>>>>>> the entire Lords of Shadow series

His memories are realigning with the new universe, but he's still aware this reality is different than where he came from.
>>
>>84504430
He has both, but I'm not sure if he got new 52 wholly when Barry solidified him or if the blanks get filled in only when he zaps someone.
