I never see the original praised, which is unfortunate. It's a great game, and the Green Goblin mode was awesome.
Marvel Nemesis was pretty lackluster, but I would love to see the Imperfects in comics. Plus they have African, Italian, Russian, and Japanese women, so tumblr can't complain it's too sexist!

I played Dc- universe online for the first 3 years till dev turned it to A Pile of shit but man those few years ways awesome then combat system was New &. Based on skill.I'd PvP with my league for fucking hours talking & stomping hero's.

Spider-Man definitely got out of it with the best line-up of games. My personal favorite was Ultimate Spider-Man because you could play as Venom, and all around it was mostly an improvement on Spider-Man 2's systems. If it wasn't for the small size of buildings, reliance on annoying races to improve stats, and the piss poor draw distance, it would have been infallible.
But overall my favorite /co/ game is either MvC2 or MvC3 if those count due to have the cast being comics.

Still play both of these, love how Spidey 2 lets you play even after the game is 100% completed. MAU is boss, along with both XMen Legends games, I really kind of wish Raven Software had continued to exist. MAU2 should have been better, but the fact that they tried to mix Civil War and Zombies into one storyline felt clunky, unlike the original "Masters of Evil" epic that the first game had.

I kind of felt the same way about the Superman game on NES. I used to love it when I was a kid. I always liked that you could switch between Clark and Superman. Bad as that game was, it's a neat idea. I'd love to see something like that incorporated into a new game.
