The show was good until Jessica and the Purple Man had their first confrontation. Rather than spending those episodes on actual character development, they thought it'd be more fun to have the same three episode arc of Jessica capturing/getting captured by the Purple Man. They talk for a bit, one of them escapes because someone does something stupid/heroic. It drained all the tension from the show, and by the end of it, none of their confrontations meant anything.

I was still interested while watching episode 9 because I rather liked episode 8 that was entirely about Killgraves House but during 10 I lost my interest. At the end of 11 I was expecting some kind of showdown to finally begin so I just fastforwarded through most of 12 and 13 which were nearly all about Cage on the verge of death and introducing a nurse as Cages love interest. Of course this was the perfect way and point for them to bore the people that are only in it for Tennant out of their mind with a 30 out of 45 minutes commercial for a completely different show. It feels like a bad idea to introduce that nurse at the ass end of JJ, the first episode of Cages own show seems like a better idea. Maybe even make it a dramatic cliffhanger where JJ thinks Luke died but it turns out somebody brought him to the hosital? It would have been a formulaic clishee but at least it would have had more tension and weight than the final two episodes have in their current form. That fucking idiot Killgrave just tells some cops to shoot Jessica in a hall and then he goes to a dock where he tells other people to kill each other... It sounds ok but it was ultimately so uneventful, even by this shows standards. They should have worked longer on this, it feels like a first draft or like the writer gave no shit at that point or like he had no idea what kind of shenanigans Killgrave could pull with his powers. I guess they blame his uncreativity on Killgrave becoming retarded due to enhancing his powers which was an out of character and retarded idea for Killgrave in the first place. I wish I could edit a good ninth episode out of 9-13 so I can have a nice 10 episode season of Jessica Jones to remember it as an ok idea and story but that would be too much work.

Both Jessica Jones and Daredevil Season 2 followed the same cycle:
First few episodes - really good and engaging show.
The middle - a lot of dumb and OOC moments to keep the story going, but there is still fair amount of a good scenes to keep you watching.
Final episodes - Arrow Season 3 level of quality. I wish I was exaggerating.

I think one of my problems with the show is that it didn't feel like there was all that much difference between Pre-and-Post-Kilgrave Jessica.
She's still misanthropic, anti-social, belligerent, etc. before she even meets Kilgrave, and just having her down whiskey in the present feels only like superficial window dressing. She wasn't even trying to be a superhero in the first place. The Jewel costume is treated as a fucking joke.
There's the stuff with her parents dying and all of that, but it would've meant a lot more if there was a real obvious difference between past and present Jessica to emphasize the trauma Kilgrave supposedly had on her. If was genuinely engaged and interested in being a superhero, and then had that dream stomped out of her, it would mean so much more.

It really baffles me how much praise this show gets when it's horrendously paced. Almost the entire show is focused on the Purple Man, and the intimidation factor is lost when he gets tranq the second time we see him. And then they capture and lose him three fucking times!
