I feel it was good. It was ambiguous enough to leave you guessing in regards to what happens next. Lord English is practically dead, and Sburb has ended, so the characters have the potential to do anything without it ending in a fucking offshoot doomed timeline. Honestly, it wasn't nearly as cool as Collide, because Collide was fucking awesome, but the ending wasn't meant to be cool. It was meant to be open for interpretation.
I honestly think Act 7 couldn't have been any better than what it turned out to be. This was a story that took 7 years, 8150 pages, and hours of animation. There's no way every loose end could've been tied up intricately in the ending, unless you want an ending that's another fucking thousand pages long.
The epilogue will probably focus way more on the characters and shit.

I didn't say it was good because it couldn't have done better. I believe it was good because it's ending allows for many possible things that can happen. Does Vriska survive? What happens to Jack Noir? What happens to the ghosts in the Dream Bubbles? Do they cease to exist, or are they left behind? It's your decision, as the reader. In the end, Homestuck is about a boy and his friends and a game they play together. This was wrapped up. They won the game. They didn't fuck up and give their universe cancer. They didn't fuck up and reset everything. They won, and now they get a universe full of potential for anything to happen.

Yeah, I use an old Bamboo Pen tablet I got for like $70 maybe five or six years ago. I don't think they make the model anymore, and I don't know how the Intuos compares, though. I mainly use FireAlpaca with AntiAliasing turned off for drawing and Photoshop to organize layers, animations, and other edits. FireAlpaca is free, and I think one of the older versions of Photoshop is free, too. Macromedia Flash MX 2004 is also free if you want to try flash sometime haha
Using a tablet can take a while to get used to, especially if it isn't a Cintiq, but I've seen artists do amazing stuff with just traditional media, so don't feel like you have to go and buy computer stuff to make art!

Throughout the story, it's obvious that none of them are leaders, yet a lot of them would like to be. Karkat may have been the first one introduced, but he is not the most important one.
The closest thing they have to a leader is Vriska. You might not like it, but she held the most influence on the story, having laid the killing blow on their session's Black King, the one to ultimately confront Lord English, and the one who affected the post-Retcon timeline the most.
Karkat's still my favorite though.

But by a more troll-based definition of leadership, he was a good leader. The key there is troll-based, given that his leadership style in human terms isn't particularly admirable due to his main method of influencing the group being annoying them until they either did what he said or stopped doing something stupid just to shut him up. By troll standards he was an effective leader, with some major flaws given the things that went wrong with their session on his watch.
Either way, he was considered the leader of the troll group and he aspired to be the leader, that was his big goal. His future self notes this in a memo between Karkat and Equius, and numerous memos following. People turned to him for advice and he tried to follow through on helping people in his own crude manner.

Drawing programs I recommend are FireAlpaca (free), PaintTool Sai (costs money unless you find a download through less honest methods), Photoshop (same as Sai for the current versions, but CS2 is free since they gave out a universal activation code after closing the servers. Might be too old for your computer though), and GIMP (also free and what I used before I got Photoshop)

You make a very good point. Karkat did hold them together very well up until the point the trolls started dropping like flies due to Gamzee's honking and Eridan's douchebag ways. In a way he reminds me of Roxy, in that he held his friends together socially and kept them from fucking each other over until their respective huge shitty events.

I came complaining about lame dancestors a few weeks ago becuase I was gonna join a cosplay group, seems it's even worse than getting a lame character I can't join the group at all, it was just for a group of close friends that don't want any outsiders, so no cosplay group for me at all.
And the people who also wanted to join but couldn't so we discussed having our own gruop well seems they have a friend in the group so they'll get to join after all, so no alternative group either. Pretty much only me that wikll have no group which sucks. Big disappointmnet.

I personally went for the cheapest option since I draw as a hobby and it was my first tablet. I have a Wacom Bamboo tablet, but I think that model is out of manufacturing. Closest thing next to it might be the Wacom Intuos. There might be a visual disconnect when you are drawing, though, since the image doesn't appear on the tablet itself where you draw. Plus the smaller tablets, while cheaper, might be harder to draw large, sweeping lines on due to the small working area on the tablet.
Definitely DON'T buy the expensive ones for your first digital tablet, though. And also look into other makers besides Wacom since they might be cheaper or have better customer service. Wacom is a safe choice otherwise.
Here were the things I drew from Homestuck before I read it, based on the fan content I saw:

That seems to be the role he played over the more traditional, competent leader. It was a facet of his character that I enjoyed, in that he aspires to be this capable warrior/leader and makes damn sure he gets that role when the opportunity arises, given that he was unlikely to get it normally as a mutant. But even though he gets the role he doesn't fully understand what it constitutes and as such, whilst he cares deeply for his friends and does what he can to get them to work together, he does so in a manner that really isn't all that leader like from our perspective and the downsides of that show through eventually.
Then he's introduced to these aliens, in particular John, who really is doing what Karkat wanted to do as a leader, getting these people he cares about to work together in a positive manner. I wish the story had gone more into this, it was one of the numerous things which made Karkat such an interesting character and is also why it's so damn unsettling what happened to the guy.
I expected his lack of actual competence as a traditional leader to be brought up, given that whilst he got his group to function it was done in a rather crude manner and there were obvious issues that ballooned into massive issues under his watch. His acceptance of this in Act 5 was perfect, he was at his lowest point given both Murderstuck and having just accepted that he hadn't actually done a very good job as a leader when he'd thought and been told he had done til that point. There's tons of what if's we could go into regarding the troll group dynamics, but with Karkat in particular whilst he was considered the leader and got the trolls to work together somewhat, he really didn't do that competent a job.
