>>
All this could have been avoided had Victor bullshitted a decent excuse. Instead he freaks out, and kills a 2 androids.
>>
>>84464931
Hmm, it's almost as if the majority of this issue was spent explaining why Vic was behaving strangely
>>
Fuck this, just fuck this.

Clearly, the only solution is for best mommy to kill her brother-in-law with extreme prejudice. What a fuck stick.
>>
>>84465143
12 issues, that's how long King said he was going to write it for.
>>
>>84465143
12 issues. It's even mentioned in this issues letters page.
>>
I just read the first issue of this it's pretty good.

I disagree with them about facts without context but I do have to wonder about the vase.
>>
I don't think I would want most comic books to be like to be like this.

But I'm glad this one is.
>>
>>84464931
Well gee anon, you're right. Why didn't the robot equivalent of a meth junkie act calmly and rationally in a bad situation?
>>
>>84464931
Logical thinking is not what junkies are known for, not when they find their next big stash and a kid shows up that could ruin everything.
>>
Well poop. Shit just goin' from bad to worse.

>>
>>84465681
Does "read" require actually paying for it, or do storytimes on /co/ count?
>>
>>84465738
Pure adamantium? I thought to remember that it was an alloy that included vibranium (like Cap's shield but with different proportions)
Maybe I'm getting confused with the movie

Like me, King's from DC (he actually went to school with my wife), and he knew that that exhibit actually is currently on display in the district. So I don't think it's so much pandering as it is applicable to the real world and would have been near the forefront of his mind.

>>
>>84467171
I believe Alonso and King both said they wanted the book to continue, but the sales weren't there. Marvel really pushed the hell out of it too, literally giving copies away to retailers and putting it in the back of Spider-Man/Deadpool #1 for no extra cost.

But you know how it goes. /co/ has been singing its praises since the first issue hit, yet there's still new people who discover it far too late. When it's a Marvel or DC book, unless it "matters" to the overall universe, it's a tough sell.

I don't see how it could have gone for much longer, unless they started to decompress the fuck out of each issue and even in this one what actually happens is really little, it's just that there is a good, entertaining flashback that explains the motives
What would they have done? Kill all the family and then have Vision repeat the process from the beginning?

I wonder if pymtron will show up?
>>
>>84472561
This series appears to be REALLY self-contained, so it's unlikely
If Vision and Pymtron were to meet it would most likely happen in the pages of Uncanny/ANAD Avengers
>>
>>84466616
Good god, I hope not

It makes sense in a way, Vibranium either absorbs or reflects vibration depending upon how it is used. I could see it having some kind of weird effect on machines built that are built on the cellular level. It probably vibrates at the exact opposite of the passive vibrations the more mechanical parts give off or something.

Eventually the user would become used to the sensation and need more or something else.

It might also cause machines to malfunction because extra stress and vibrations are being sent back through them rather than being absorbed by more mundane materials.

It had been such a long time since the last time my jaw dropped while reading a comic. Such a good feling.

THE STATE OF THE RUNAWAYS
>>
>>84464430
That "MOMMY" panel hits me in the feels. Like holy fuck. The just everything is just hitting me this comic is so good in the way that it hurts and feels bad to read. It really is like watching a car crash in slow motion.
>>
Is the narrator still Agatha Harkness? Why would they change the color of the boxes.
>>
>>84474243
It's pretty brutal, specially when you realize that he was in agonizing pain for the entire issue.
>>
>>84474288
It is hypothesized that the color change means that Scarlet Witch has taken over telling Agatha's story. That Agatha already told her and she is relaying the information to them.
>>
>>84474288
Wanda?
Pymtron? (Fuck is he going to make shit even worse?)
Chthon? (Fuck did he prank Agatha?)

>A PC is the same as an AI.
AI probably have background diagnostics running constantly to help them mimic the concept of sensation and tactile feeling. The extra vibrations could potentially futz with these sensors and cause weird results from the diagnostic cycle which would result in a new 'sensation' that the AI hasn't felt before. Something that isn't what its databanks record as pain or pleasure. The diagnostics eventually take the extra vibrations as a constant and filter them out as a controlled result with normal parameters similar to different gravity values from different planets or etc. When that happens the vibranium no longer 'works' and different source of vibranium must be found to create a similar feedback that is different enough to fool the diagnostic subsystems into not filtering out the sensation.

There I just figured out how vibranium could potentially be some form of addictive substance to certain types of AI.

The Avengers encouraged his addiction when Iron Man had struggled with addiction in the past.
Everyone is worse for this development.
>>

I feel like the whole point of this will be that Vision was just trying to be normal and have a life outside of being a superhero, and that his 'friends' on the Avengers got worried because that wasn't normal. I feel like it is also pointing out that a lot of the Avengers are people in a glass house throwing stones through Vision's front window.

I just worry, and I am honestly frightened, that Vision will end this series by simply erasing his memories of the rest of his family. I worry that he will come to the logical conclusion that he can't exist with the memories of his family murdered by the Avengers and not have an emotional response resulting in their deaths, but to do that would accomplish nothing and only result in leaving the world vulnerable.

The end line will be something like "The Vision has saved the world 38 times, he knows that number, but he cannot remember the 38th time. It is not listed in any of his memory banks or any public record, but something in his core programming insists that he has saved the world 38 times..." to mirror how he kept remembering that he has saved the world 37 times with the Avengers.

It's really telling how badly the others have been handled when I'm actually liking how this is going down.
>>
>>84464750
Even if this were true, pretentious shit is better than 99% of Marvel's output in recent years.
>>
What even was up with the Vibrojunkie subplot, seems kinda random
>>
>>84475583
I wonder if that is also a comment on how unheroic the heroes in Marvel have been acting recently, that we not only are perfectly happy to believe they would send a junkie spy into a house with children and cause the death of their 'friend's son, but we also want them to pay for it.
>>
>>84475791
Maybe that he was mentally unstable, that the Avengers knew this and still pushed him into it, and perhaps that he was 'high' from the piano which caused him to miscalculate and kill Vin.
>>
>>84475859
>>84475791
Also, it could be a statement that sometimes newer isn't always best. The comic before this they had a commentary that Vision was the older model and while he was more powerful than Vic, because Vic was a newer model he could be considered more human than Vision.

But that humanity also left him open to things like addiction which doesn't affect the Vision family.

God, this comic is so goddamn great.

I want to see Vision imagining what he'd do, some kind of Adrian Veidt plot to take down the avengers. But if this is how it ends, I don't know how I could stand to enjoy any avengers afterwards. Vision might forget, but the reader wouldn't.

All Tony did was show everyone how sweet his product was. You don't flip out on people who give you free samples, do you?
>>
>>84473931
I read it as more "Painkiller addiction" than something more sinister. Look at the source of his problems: pain, both physical and emotional. He's using the Vibranium as medication, but doesn't regulate it well and thus became addicted.

Because robots.

Overall, though, as a big Runaways fan, I love and hate this. I hate that he's gonna die and that he's a junkie. But on the other hand, it's extremely well done and kind of tragically beautiful.

>>84474243
Yes, that's the exact feeling I have. For all the characters involved.

. . .

I hope Victor gets better. He's done it before.

>>84466819

King could have stayed on. Exclusive contracts have a clause for books you're writing before you sign. It's why Lemire can do another Teen Titans Earth One book.

It's 12 because he only plotted 12, and because the book isn't selling well.

Is it just me, or does it seem now a days Marvel heroes kill each other more than the actual villains?
>>
>>84476586
It was a self fufilling prophecy. By attempting to discover how The Vision was going to go evil and kill them they ended up setting things up to bring about the very future they were afraid of... Kind of an important message considering Civil War 2 and what just happened with Hulk.
>>
>>84476962
>now a days

Try since the 90s.
>>
So how will they justify Viv staying alive to join Marvel's Teen Titans? Did King have ANY input on that?
>>
>>84477247
presumably they asked him if any Vision kids were going to survive the series before creating that cover
>>
>>84464582
>We fear that if we confront him with unfounded accusations, it could trigger the very event we're trying to prevent
This coming out the same day as Civil War II #3 is some real fucking pottery.

If you support it it shows marvel people like this sort of thing.

Then again this is marvel they would probably think people want all there comics to be like this or something

Works for hellblazer but I think it would fall apart here

I think someone storytimed the entirety of it. I remember being sad that they didn't use Machine Man for it
>>
>>84477444
So what's going on in Civil War II anyway? I hear it's shit, but how shit?
>>
>>84480043
Well a major plot point is people freaking out that Banner might Hulk out.

Banner has been cured of being a hulk in Totally Awesome Hulk
>>
>>84480043
It's killed off two characters while doing almost nothing to make the reader of that story care about the people who died, leaving that sort of thing to the tie ins.
>>
>>84480397
The assumption is that they care because of existing history with them.
