At least it got a staff voiced animatic to finish off the series. Some shows don't even get that consideration.

The only show that had a gay couple that didn't feel forced as fuck. They were also the best characters.
>>
>tfw this show had some amazing characters

I know it's a weird thing to point out, but I didn't know two of the characters were gay until recently. It was because them being gay didn't even stick out in my mind, since they had actual characterization beyond that. Yuo want innovative, there you go.
>>
>>84454438
How the fuck could you miss that? They talk about being gay. They talk about being attracted to men. They talk about having sex with men. Saying they're so well-written that you didn't realize they were gay is denying a massively important part of who they are.

Or you're just like retarded or something

Yeah, they devoted an entire episode to the story of them meeting and falling in love.

Were you just drinking to much and missed the entire series? Is today the day you discover that you are the Googer-Geiger?

The small fanbase that lurks on /co/ overrates it but it was a charming show and I would've loved to see some more. Particularly >>84454133

It is a product of its time though - I think it'd be weird if it got rebooted.
>>
>>84455125
I wouldn't want to see it rebooted, but it should have at least finished the first season. Fuck WB for cancelling it before the first season finished its run.
>>
It had the best gay couple in my opinion

>>84454438
They're making out together in an elevator in their very first appearance in the pilot. Are you retarded anon or repressing your true feelings?

You know a show is old when a character is using the term "Generation y" in place of "Millennials".
>>
>>84454662
>>84454970
I think he meant he never noticed they were both men
it didn't really occur to me either. having the voice of tom kenny adds a little kind of a fourth limb to your Y chromosome, yknow?
>>
>>84455125
actually.. i usually agree on points like this, but..
>>84454942
really it works today just as well as then. possibly moreso. You couldn't have another Daria today, but I think you could have Mission Hill again. We still have go-nowhere 20somethings, annoying hipsters, politically ambiguous mexican neighbors, and blingblonging nerds out the wazoo. you'd just say time has passed in real time, or nearly, so now andy's the kind of 30something loser we all are, kevin's a gradschool burnout with a useless bachelor's degree, posey's rich and it's changing her slightly, and also she has a babby? and Jim is still Jim but now he creates bullshit internet videos for a living instead of bullshit anachronistic print advertising campaigns

but hell oakley and weinstein aint gettin back together anytime soon (i wonder what happened with them) so... that's kinda what it rides on.
>>
>>84458263
i thought millennials were the ones who are kids now. Kevin's generation, while Andy is 'Y'
like we've started measuring a new generation every 8 years or so because of the way things are going. that's how I understood it.
>>
>>84458703
Generation y just got renamed to millennials. That's all it is. There's always discourse within generations that draw minor dividing lines but people in their 20's now pretending like they're not in the same generation as teens just because those teens had iPhones at a younger age is stupid.

Andy was 24 in the late 90's so he's younger gen x. Kevin was 16 so he's older gen y aka millenial.
>>
>>84458620
He has a mustache and is in a homosexual relationship with a man. Thinking Wally is a woman is even stupider than thinking he's a heterosexual man.

96 percent of the time i hear 'millennials' it's referring to 'kids these days', not us. people BORN in this millennium, hence the name. not 90s kids.

didn't say "not thinking" said 'not noticing'
as in "you know, fox turned into a hardcore sex channel so gradually, i didn't even notice"

they did the gay thing so unobtrusively you never thought of them as two men (which doesnt work or make sense), you just saw them as that couple
>>
>>84459018
okay but you get what i'm saying right?
that's how the term is used, and that's what the term is named. so how the fuck is that not what it means?
I totally get the 'minor dividing lines' aspect of it, but I'm pretty sure the dividing line here involves the millennium

No, I get it. You're right. It's a common misconception that bugs me. I was born in 92 and remember an elementary school teacher explaining the millennial terminology and that it meant us. So it's just baffling to see so many people treat it as a subdivision of generation y when it was never intended.
>>
>>84459099
hipsterism, i might remind you, just like goth and christian and memes and all that other shit, is a good thing that's been copied endlessly by a bunch of point-missing tryhards until the original good version has been drowned out. doesn't make it any less good in the first place.

>it refers to the graduating year
ohhhhhhhhh okay. well that's that one mystery solved at least.
and honestly if it was coined that far back, it gives a lot more credence to that being the right usage.

now don't get me started on 'tween'
