Alright let's talk about the new Iron Woman. She is possibly one of the worst and most disgusting things that Bendis has ever done in the history of his writing.
Riri has not played any sort of important part in a story before Bendis. She has had no build up in her character, relationships have not been established or anything like that. Instead, we have been given a character who is somehow 'smarter' than Tony, despite the fact that it is impossible as he is only second to the Richards and Doom in his knowledge of physics and technology. In the hands of a competent writer, she would have slowly grown into the role of the replacement over many years.
So why has he introduced this character? Well the answer is so fucking clear that I am surprised no one has seen it. The first reason is to develop controversy which Bendis will then use to batter down his opponents, using 'isms' as his defense, despite the fact that Riri is not a character and that quite a few have a point.
The second reason is that it is to regrain Bendis' audience, the one which he fucking butchered as a result of Civil War II. The SJWs. They were rightly pissed at his killing of War Machine and near killing of She-Hulk. He is literally using a character who is both a 'woman' and 'black' to show that despite his killing of She-Hulk he is progressive, which is bullshit.
Rhodes was a character who we actually enjoyed. He had a long history with a consistent character, or at least consistent as you could get in an open universe. He was Tony's best friend but he had his own identity. And Bendis killed him without a second thought to give Carol and Tony motivation. Now he is being replaced by a Mary Sue who will stay as long as Bendis has power in Marvel.
Seriously, fuck Bendis and his writing. The only reason he is making any money is that they slap him on popular things and makes controversial stories and decisions which are ultimately shit.
