I had a nerdy black friend growing up who got regularly harassed and beat up by, ironically, other black kids. I always felt kind of bad and wondered if I was partially at fault. He was one of the few black kids at our school that hung out with kids who weren't also black. So I guess it also makes sense that the nerdy black kids in these shows are hanging with they white kids. Seems pretty true to life from my experience.

We were never very close in highschool, but ever since college, we were the only two people we knew, so we hung out practically everyday. The fact that he was openly gay didn't even really bother me, because he wasn't such a fucking asshole about it either.

Not just blacks and not just youths, many years I had an Indian math tutor. Elderly guy, really patient, good humored, insightful and interested in helping me get my marks up.
Problem is an Indian math teacher from my school got word and told my folks to consider another tutor. Everything went to shit after the switch but my parents kept shelling out money to because the teacher's word on the matter was apparently somehow worth more than me as the direct witness of the difference. I don't want to go on too much about it but this asshole would just hand me a paper with work to do and sit in his office all day, he'd check to see if I was done and hand me another and if not he'd just go back and tell ME to come to him when I'm done. He explained nothing, taught nothing. I just gave up.
Later on two friends of a friend, one Indian and one Chinese, who overheard me bitching about the fiasco told me certain families from their countries roll so deep they will sabotage others to that end. Getting a customer and money away from the Indian tutor was the goal, me failing was just collateral. They could have just been fucking with me but they didn't seem like it.
Either way I've heard about pointless deaths from senseless gang violence on the news that upset me less than this. I was seriously trying to succeed in life and this lady turns my failure extra rope for a tug-o-war? See, now this is that bullshit that has kids finna shoot up shit. For what it's worth, I get the same feeling when I'm walking near a woman in a secluded area. I grew up as an immigrant in Germany. It took me until I was 25 to realise that I was being treated differently by a lot of people. I'm English by birth so it was sometimes positive, but especially when I was younger and didn't speak German without an accent, I can recall being treated unfairly without ever understanding why. Even when I was older, I kept on having odd encounters with people who were just complete assholes to me, usually in situations where people were aware of my heritage, such as in government offices.
Some friends of mine weren't allowed to play with me back in the day, and I never knew why, but as an adult I'm almost fairly certain their parents didn't want their children playing with a Brit.
A fucking Brit! There's not even a history of bigotry towards Brits in Germany and I still felt the xenophobia. Fucking hell I can only imagine how it must be for people who LOOK different.

I'm glad I stopped going to the entirely supervised ones before I could've noticed their behavior. Why didn't you just look at how everyone else was eating it? If you were worried about what was in it, why did you just ask? I have allergies so I always have to ask whats in unfamiliar foods. If it tasted gross, sometimes you gotta take one for the team if you want their acceptance.

I had le black best friend toofiddled me in our youth, caused me to start binge drinking, smoked drugs in from of my pre teen sisters with a whole crew bringing a literal ounce of weed and mushrooms as well to my house, sleeping on my pool table leaving cigarette burns on the felt, "borrowed and never gave back" my xbox and huge industrial tier speakers, got me addicted to WoW, etc etc etc
