Japan's light novel and manga industries are so over-saturated that you need to grab the buyer's attention right away or get overlooked. Using the title to explain the premise is a good way of doing it, since most people only skim through the titles.

>official episode summaries are intentionally misleading
Justice League Unlimited is my favorite example. Cartoon Network's summaries for the last handful of episodes of the Cadmus arc were written to sound like they were trying to very thinly veil that the Flash was going to die and it would cause shit to hit the fan. For example, one of them mentioned that Superman was going to "avenge a fallen friend" immediately after an episode called "Flashpoint". It turned out to be Captain Atom, who was in the show for all of five minutes and wasn't even really "fallen".

Hit the Diamond was the most enjoyable of all filler eps so far and it was barely filler. Plus that ruby squad hunting Jasper is probably going to be important later.

I like the reverse.
When the summary sounds so generic and boring you don't even want to watch it but the actual thing is "shit hits the fan" levels of hype.

>the title is a joke referring to the previous eps involving Lion
>does involve Lion but also reveals first screentime and spoken lines of an incredibly important character who almost every major character has some sort of connection to and was the cause of pretty much the entire plot

It would annoy me sometimes but I love that because of how silly/vague they can get, we have almost no idea what to expect when future episode titles are leaked.

>>>84351698
>not getting the play-on-words right away
Tons of people caught on back when we only knew the title that it was gonna involve baseball, and it was a ton of fun to boot.

Also it wasn't filler. Filler is skippable.
