At first he was more or less a joke jerkass.
Tavros got fleshed out a lot when Vriska was introduced, but by then he was already been doomed to be a satellite character to her.
He was a woobie, but also sort of good-hearted and brave, and then he died so Vriska could feel bad about it when talking to John.
Bringing him back as a ghost was probably the ONLY good use of the dream bubbles in the whole comic. Flying away from Vriska gave him better closure than literally 90% of the cast.
It was kind of heartwarming and I feel like it'd have been a great lesson - you don't need to humiliate or hurt your abuser, you just need to GET THE FUCK AWAY and live a happy fulfilling life.
But then Hussie couldn't leave even (Tavros) untouched and had to make him come back, fake-humiliate Vriska, bow down to Meenah for an obscure reason that probably boils down to "lol look at him being silly and embarrassing himself".
Since it didn't ENTIRELY ruin Tavros, Hussie had to create another version of him that he could actually mess up permanently, so he could get off to his gross femdom kinks. The story quickly swept the abomination under the rug and pretended it didn't exist.
After that, Vriska led the army, killed LE, and creamed her pants while (Tavros) stood in the background wearing the wrong outfit. This concluded the most disastrous finale in the history of webcomics.
There was no point, as Homestuck's new motto goes. Thanks for playing.

At one point it's bound to get noticed by a character who will stop magically not giving a fuck. So what's going to happen? Literally Make Her Pay, probably. Except since she (and literally all the kids) have got SBURB superpowers, the cycle of revenge will be about a hundred times as bad.

Here's how we fix Homestuck. Everything, and I mean everything, can stay except for a few things. Jane's dad has to die first, the story is about moving on from your guardians and him replacing old dad is a little fucked up. Then, Terezi's mind powers has to sync up everyone's ultimate selves and clear out the dream bubbles, since that's also a little fucked up. And also, I guess just bring everyone back to life since Andrew didn't want to give every character a real character arc anyway. Then, Collide should play out like this.

Everyone goes to the new universe the end. Maybe even revive the guardians too while you're at it since the whole growing up thing was taken out of the story. At least this way, if Homestuck won't get a satisfying conclusion, it could at least go out with a bang instead of a nice looking fizzle.

Changed heart and space
Since we're doing different endings, here's one that I like.
Alternate flash instead of Game Over, where they take out the Condesce, Gamzee, and Bec Noir, bsically knock the minor villains off the board. The kids take heavy losses though, since they didn't have their shit together at that point. Maybe they lose PM's ring, or Jane dies (please), or Erisol makes a heroic sacrifice to save the day. They have time to regroup and prepare to fight Lord English, working through some of their personal issues along the way.
In the dream bubbles, Meenah regains her old drive and ambition as a backlash from seeing [Vriska] become so sedentary and useless, and they get the ghost army together again. They rendezvous up with the kids in Paradox Space and cue the final battle, where hopefully we get some final mindfuck wrench in the works for drama's sake (and to give some of those years of theorizing some payoff). Maybe Calliope was LE the whole time and Caliborn really was just a red herring or some shit.
Either way, Spades Slick is the one to kill him, with critical help from Mituna, as it turns out his heroic sacrifice was in the future due to temporal fuckery. Then we can move on to the 5 minutes of a frog flying across futuristic screensavers and have a walkaround game where we can see all the characters interacting one last time before finally entering the new universe.

I don't think my ending would be satisfying in the grand scheme of things, I just figured it would be nice for all of the Sburb players to actually do something onscreen. The story touts Sburb and Skaia as functions for creating a universe with an undertone of self growth and people learning about themselves and their lives. It just seems weird to me that that only applies to a few humans who are basically forced to go through that, and then there's a whole session where no one goes through that. If Skaia has the power to do it, why not make all of its players grow like it wants to?

I have - I didn't pay a great deal of attention to his interpretation as the classpects, since most of his theories became invalidated in short order, but as a self-contained AU, it's remarkably well thought out. Just for another voice on the Glitch FAQ, a lo of the fanon aspects seem to be offshoots or mixes of the Canon 12. The same can kind of be said for classes such as the Smith, which was supposed to be a crafting based class if I remember correctly. The idea that you make things to give to other people kind of falls into page territory however.

The "happy" ending we've been sold is a joke. Anyone with half a brain will figure it out by sitting down and thinking about it for a minute.
You've got a dozen Chosen Ones leaving for paradise (with like a third of them in an awful mental state) and the rest is stuck in purgatory for eternity, if not outright hell, for a single sin: they did not do exactly what the universe secretly wanted them to do.
Homestuck is a monument to nihilism sold as a happy coming-of-age creation myth. Thousands of people fell for it and still don't suspect a thing. Thousands of others do, but they prefer to play make-believe so they don't have to admit they got fucking conned.
Scratch at the thin layer of pink paint and you'll see the story's true nature. But hey, you're right, why would anyone want to do that when we've got a handful of happy gays! The weirdest part, as I addressed in one of my earlier posts, is that every single person that plays Sburb is a chosen one. But for some reason, some Chosen Ones are more Chosen than other Ones. And you're right, no one cares about that part because they get their shipping fuel and everything is ok. It's arguably the most interesting/messed up part of the story and it's completely glossed over. What a wasted opportunity.
