Faye throughout the comic has only had one occasion where her drinking has ever been an issue prior to the whole "Angus is leaving I'm gonna drink myself stupid for days at a time" nonsense. The whole cast has been shown to like to party (even Hanners) and they often frequent a bar, and on occasion have even drank at the coffee shop.
Faye likes to hit the sauce a little heavier than the others at times, but considering that Marten has vivid tequila hallucinations (played for comedic effect, but they're still there), Faye is clearly not the only one who likes to binge from time to time. There is nothing wrong with partying and going overboard every now and then does not make someone an alcoholic. An alcoholic is somebody who is addicted to alcohol, often because it is used to self-medicate because of depression or other emotional / mental issues. Faye has had plenty of times to be horribly sad, because of her dad, because of Sven, etc, and she was only shown to use drinking as a coping mechanism once (which again does not make one an alcoholic), which she immediately stopped because both her therapist and friends noticed and told her that was a bad thing to do. It was not an issue, nor a problem. There was no "stealth drinking" or pretending she was drinking any less than she was.
This whole "Faye is an alcoholic" business came completely out of nowhere and with absolutely no build-up. If Faye had a real drinking problem then there would have been a history of her relationship with alcohol instead of one mis-step. People don't fall out of the sky as alcoholics, especially not ones that drink whiskey FIRST THING IN THE MORNING and stay drunk for days at a time over something as trivial as a breakup.
Alcoholics also don't just "forget" about drinking for months and then suddenly fall off the wagon once they remember they're alcoholics.

But honestly, to me it just sounds like he was a social drinker and his other mental issues were the problem, not the alcohol. IIRC he stopped drinking after the Stabbening, which happened while he was drunk, so he probably blames that on his drinking, instead of him being a lunatic.
Trust me, a tolerance of half a bottle of heavy liquor to get blackout drunk is fucking nothing, especially for a big guy like Jeph. He clearly wasn't drinking that much.
