There's only one Transformers movie. It wasn't particularly gay at the time, though the non-stop (literally non-stop, the music fades in before the visuals and doesn't stop until the end of the end credits) 80's soundtrack has a different feel in the modern era than it's relative mainstream style back then.

In the audio commentary for "Revenge of the Fallen", Bay talks about he stopped for gas and met a group of teenagers who recognized him. He asked what their favorite part of the first movie was, expecting it to be the robots, and they all said it was Megan Fox, because she was so hot. Bay says that's when he realized a lot of what brought the target demographic of these movies in was the eye candy and the humor, which is why he amped them up in the sequels.

I like Bay. He's shameless. Don't care much for Transformer but Pain and Gain was a delightfully sleazy movie. There's a great review by British movie critik Mark Kermode who absolutely hated it, savagely tore it apart. The funny thing is, I loved it for all the reasons he hated it.
