Nothing against Will Friedle, but that's not really saying much. A drugged up blind hobo with one arm and three fingers to type with could write better episodes than a majority of that writing staff.
There was no flow to the story, the character progression was all over the place, Lion-O spends half the episodes learning the same lessons he'd just learned last episode and no one on staff seemed to have any actual vision for what they even wanted to do with these characters or where the story was going. I gave the first (and only) season a full watch just to see if anything go better, and the only thing I felt when it was over was... well, that was certainly a bunch of things that happened.

Cartoon Roulette, Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, Thundercats, and Voltron were the first line up. I remember the first broadcast. I watched Voltron with my brother. He was excited because he loved it when he was younger, but after rewatching the first episode he kind of refused to watch more with me.
Robotech aired at some point but somehow despite watching pretty much every day after the first broadcast I missed it entirely, and I know Superfriends was added pretty early on.

Oldfag here. As in, I've never seen a re-run of the original show as a kid. Why do you anons keep bringing up this show? All it does is bring pain to the fans. I SO wanted it to be good and the art style really is...and it has a few good moments. But other than that, it's this massive train wreck. The kind you watched out of curiosity, but was so horrible, you wish you didn't.
Just let it die. Hopefully I'll get rich somehow and I promise to make a better reboot. Even if I have to take up animation and draw it my fucking self.

I suppose it feels good to bitch, and there's certainly a lot to bitch about with this series. The fact that it's such an obvious bad show brings to it a morbid fascination. I myself loved the character designs and was severely disappointed that there was no character depth to go along with those designs. Being such a trainwreck, oddly enough, has made me more of a Thundercats fan because now I want to see the series done right (dat kat notwithstanding).
It also came out during 2010-2012, and in between those two years Cartoon Network experienced a series of large shakeups: the introduction of Adventure Time and the cancellation of action-oriented cartoons like Young Justice and Symbionic Titan. I'm going out on a real limb here and guessing that it came for a time when fans of action cartoons were getting a bit desperate (on 4chan, not in a larger sense).

Okay okay 1. Have you even seen Avatar Kyoshi porn? Its out there, cursory google search shows it.
2. Nick never delves much into the past female or male avatars other than Roku, Kyoshi, and Wan.
