So I've been thinking about Grimdark Rose, and Rose's magic in general. We've had a debate a few times about exactly where her powers came from. At first it seemed like Rose started learned magic as a result of the Thorns she alchemized, but later on Doc Scratch implied (although did not state outright) that Rose had been magical all along. People also start to talk about aspect inversion, with Rose's light inverting into void.
The thing is, Rose taught Casey magic, including some rather strong necromancy. Doesn't this imply that magic must exist as a power-set separate from that which Sburb grants its players? If the magic was just a manifestation of Rose's personal powers than how could she pass that on to Casey?

It actually makes for an interesting aspect of his character when you think about it, and helps to explain just why he's so angry. If liquids like tears or just blushing share the same colour as the troll's blood then Karkat would have had to have learnt how to suppress feelings like intense sadness or joy should he slip up and be found out.
It plays in to his whole insecurity thing, he can't be fully open about his feelings with people as he's learnt to suppress his feelings and ensure he covers them up with bouts of anger. So much so that's just become a part of him or was reinforced by said necessity if he was naturally like that.

GAME THEORY
is simply, Hussie was tired of homestuck. After all the shit he's had to wade through since 2012 he's been ready to drop this comic for a while now. It's pretty easy to see his fans care way more about the comic then he does. He could have spent more time to finish the comic but decided to try and connect whatever was left with the ending that was already finished. I mean, it sucks a lot how it ended but (hopefully) he decided to end it for now and focus all his time on other projects like Hiveswap. I can't really blame him for getting super burnt out on homestuck. I'm sure the same would have happened t ome.
I feel like when he eventually does do an epilogue he's going to have a much more conclusive and satisfying ending for HS. It will most likely be a while before he does any kind of epilogue though. I hope not too long.

Fuck, Homestuck changed a lot over the years (mostly for the worse), but Sage Mage has been the one constant, the one character who truly represented Homestuck. They truly represented the epic, overarching plotlines, the witty dialogue and humor that characterized the comic, and the beautiful music -- who could forget Salvia Officinalis, possibly one of the best songs in the entire comic (thanks Bowman)? Honestly, a better question is: why wouldn't it be Sage Mage?
