Kappa Mikey is one of those shows with a brilliant concept and a decent execution that really deserves a second go.
I love the idea of a show that looks at all the weird contrasts between cartoons and anime with a "fish out of water" plotline, but for starters it'd need better art behind it.
It would probably work better as an anime, maybe with the reverse premise, because the quality bump would play more to the concept's strengths (though the "cartoon" characters would look weird).

Nicktoons had the weirdest assortment of shows in 2009 and back. They weren't the best shows but they definitely weren't all that bad either. Also pick related, the X's, Wayside, that one cgi show that was like a continuing series with the ball woman, kind of not a nicktoon original but El Tigre. Honstly they had a pretty chill lineup that wasn't in your face or spammed to death like their main network.

That's not exactly true. They only had one studio, but they dedicated a portion of their animators to animating Mikey and any American characters.
Even though the animation was trash, it did complement the kind of humor and delivery they were going for. It's the same with other limited-animation shows like Aqua Teen.
