Britain always had tons of muslim immigrants from the ex-colonies.

Its just residual imperial butthurt from not being able to control the thing. Britain always had numerous exempts, opt-outs and rebates and in a bout of unwarranted self importance they threw it all away in favor of /pol/ tier memes.

>If people want guns then they will find a way to get them.
But reducing the availability of guns will reduce their ability to do this. Regulating gun sales does not only lower gun violence, it also lowers gun theft, which plays a significant part in addressing that issue.

A whole ban on guns in America is impossible. But that's not what is being discussed in American politics, it is almost entirely just tighter regulations and policies to keep your gun in safes and such- good ways to further prevent the gun thefts and therefore the available supply of black market guns you're so concerned about.

The point is that it's dispelling a specific talking point which is that we won't harm the planet permanently.

Which is true, the planet itself won't die and it will move on and adapt to whatever we do to it. The concern is that WE won't survive that process.

Except that is exactly the case. Australia being a notable example.

> All it seems to be doing is inconveniencing law abiding citizens if not endangering them.
Norway might be an even better one. It has more guns per citizen than a lot of other countries, yet it ALSO has tighter gun control than the US (most notable, no "gun show" loophole that allows for internet purchases). Your mild inconvenience is nothing compared to the benefits of gun control.

Again, this is not about banning guns or making it impossible for you to get one. So stop trying to force the narrative in that direction.

why do people always act like all countries have the same democraphic make up?

... have you ever actually read any of the gun control proposals that have been put forward?

http://www.ncsl.org/research/civil-and-criminal-justice/summary-president-obama-gun-proposals.aspx

Most of these policies are extremely similar to those found in Norway. Which, again, have many citizens with guns. I believe it might have the second highest ratio of citizens to guns next to America. Such policies don't prevent law abiding citizens from having guns. They just close off private sales, regulates legal sales, and makes it so that you need to have a place to put a gun so it won't get stolen while you're not looking at it.

The NRA of old would have supported these laws until its current leadership transformed it into a political base.

Australia currently has more guns than before it began heavier gun control and so far the gun crime seems to be decreasing at the same trend it was headed before control was enacted.
America similarly has decreased in gun violence despite the accumulation of more guns AND dissolution of certain gun control laws.
Sorry if it seemed like I was putting a total ban in your mouth, it's just we have strict gun control in certain cities and its done nothing to affect their crime.

>Australia currently has more guns than before it began heavier gun control
NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT DECREASING GUNS

Gun control does not decrease gun ownership! That is not its goal!

Again you continue to distract from the issue and benefits of gun control by talking about "more guns", "less guns", no. Gun control just makes it so violent, law breaking people don't get guns.

Read the proposals in the link here >>84210809 , and you will see that it not only includes calls to close of loopholes that allow for sale over the internet, but also increased funding to stop gun trafficking in areas where it is most heavily focused, as well as increased funding towards mental health facilities to make it more accessible.

It covers every aspect of gun control without actually limiting your guns and yet you object to it because you heard some NRA shill tell you they want to take your guns away and you blindly believed them. Stop listening to those liars.

But you said yourself. It's about reducing availability, doesn't that imply they're still readily available. So the methods used to illegally obtain them now, probably wouldn't be greatly affected by the restrictions. I'm not afraid they'd immediately take everyones guns. I'm afraid it'd impede peoples rights while being a huge waste of time and money because I don't feel gun control was successful in those countries. Those countries while already having a significantly lower gun crime rate, failed to decrease in gun crime at a rate that indicates the control was successful.
I understand you want some form of token gesture but I'm afraid it'd be just that a token gesture, an empty pointless expensive inconvenient gesture.

Brexit will not happen without a pretty severe change of government anyway.

All EU treaties are subject to parliamentary ratification in the UK. article 50 stipulates that notification must be given in accordance to constitutional procedure. The referendum was non-binding, so the result cannot be considered notification according to constitutional procedure.

So. Nothings going to happen without a majority in the Commons and the Lords.

The Torys vote leave and London becomes another Scotland, Scotland becomes an independent state, and the Conservative and Union party breaks up the Union. I don't think party discipline will hold even even if the leadership is committed.

The SNP could try to vote leave in order to maximize the chance of getting independence, but Sturgeon is way too canny to cause the party to out themselves as hypocritical dirt-bags who will do or say anything for the result they want, particularly given how much of SNP's appeal is that they're different from other parties. Labour will most likely take a break from ineffectual squabbling and stabbing each other in the back and mostly vote remain.

As for the Lords, god only knows how it will play out there.

Her plan for a no-fly zone over Syria is genuinely terrifying.

When asked about what would happen if a Russian plane entered the no fly zone? "That would not happen, because we're going to put up a no-fly zone where the Russians are clearly kept informed," Clinton said. "I want them at the table."

Now, either Clinton is lying to everyone, or she believes she is so persuasive that the Russians will just say "Ok President Clinton!" as soon as she starts talking. Rather than saying "Hahah, fuck you, Assad stays, and you're not going to pull another bullshit 'humanitarian no-fly zone' trick like you did in Libya".

At which point either Clinton backs down, or she leads the US into a war with Russia. The fact that she either pretends to be, or is utterly oblivious to the idea that that's a risk is horrifying.

It really is just retarded. Dynamite isn't a weapon, if anything it's mostly a mining and demolition tool. What's more, Alfred Nobel donated the fortune he made from inventing nitroglycerine (Not dynamite, though nitroglycerine is a primary component in dynamite) and created the Nobel prizes because he felt guilty for inventing such a potent explosive. He imagined it would be used as a weapon for war. The reality is entirely different, more potent explosives were found, but nitroglycerine is being used today for 99.9% positive purposes, including medicinal purposes as it can treat symptoms of heart disease. The closest it ever came to being used in war was as a part of wartime engineering and as a propellant in the World Wars.

tl;dr this cartoon is so wrong and retarded it hurts.

More than that, he probably loves the attention he gets at cons, it's just the attention is 100% negative. He's the butt of everyone's jokes at this point, he's that pathetic. I've never met a single person who knows of Andrew Dobson and speaks positively about him, even his Patreon backers are just internet trolls stealing his comics and withdrawing their donations before the month ends.

I'm sure he'd be in love with cons if he could go there and receive tons of positive attention, but that will never happen because everyone who learns about him learns what a repulsive human being he is.

I don't think it's going to happen. I was saying that the current status quo means Brexit will not happen. If it were to happen it would require a massive reordering of parliament in an election.

Why is this so confusing?

I think it's supposed to be a gonorrhea joke. Because gonorrhea burns your dick when you piss (feel the burn/bern). It's just being humorous (you can't fuck me if you caught gonorrhea last week.)

>mfw I'm a Bernie supporter who's voting for Trump
Not surprising, because I'm not loyal to either party. Hillary never.

So the guy's philosophy was correct but he himself was weak. Makes sense.

Just reinforces that only weak people would disagree for their own personal benefit.

Yeah but unlike most of tumblr, the guy has an actual comic series he promotes and goes to conventions to sell his merchandise and then complains about conventions. He got pissed off he had to have his picture taken for promotional stuff for the con which was also giving him free advertisement and then goes out of his way to make a comic about it, making the guy who took his picture as some bossy asshole.

>Remind me again how much money the NRA bribes the government with?

Lobbying is not bribing.

The NRA subsists entirely on voluntary donations from its members. It's one of the largest groups of this kind. And most Americans support the right to own a weapon. The NRA is all about voluntary donations and the will of the American people.

It's gun control groups that get really sketchy, especially when all of their arguments rely on obfuscating the truth. Remember that study the Obama Administration backed in 2010? The one that showed no correlation between violent crime and gun ownership? Now they can't rely on facts or logic so they have to make the president pretend to cry on television. Pretty sad.

Not like that matters anyway. 3D printing is gonna revolutionize gun rights, will make guns more prevalent in American society than ever. Fighting a losing battle here. On the wrong side of history. Even if strict gun control is passed I'll just be able to ignore it.

Hey, guess what the UK's going to get in a few months time?

A leader they didn't elect.

>>84211704
What, the incredulity at so much gullibility on such an important issue? Or do you mean the immediate impact on the international stock exchange?
>HURR DURR £ BOUNCED BACK
Yes, after lowering our AAA credit rating, losing £20 BILLION in a matter of hours, and Japan breaking off all trade agreements. The only reason we're doing okay is because the rest of the world are done laughing at us for now, and assume we won't be COMPLETELY retarded

>They didn't even call a bomb squad

Right. Because they didn't think it was a bomb. They thought it was a stupid kid trying to do a bomb hoax.

And they were correct. A bomb hoax is a different crime from actually bringing a bomb.

>Why does he go to cons anyways?

He stopped attending them long before the making of that comic. He read about one such con having these conversation proximity buttons and promptly drew a picture to express his support despite having no intention to participate.
