This is Bendis' book. Gillen wanted them to focus on Iron Man's step brother Arno (Iron Man 2020 who was genetically engineered by aliens to be super intelligent). Bendis seems to think everybody wanted to focus on Tony Stark finding his biological parents, which is honestly superfluous to the story Gillen told.
