Speaking as a Marvel fag, I felt the MCU dropped the ball some involving Rhody as War Machine with his introduction, but the Russo brothers picked up the ball some with Civil war with his character. Likewise, the Russos did a commendable job with the character of Sam Wilson as the Falcon. Both Winter Soldier and especially Civil War gave him a treatment that made me genuinely want a solo or co starring movie with that character in it.
Cyborg has NEVER interested me as a reader. Like ever. But this movie is an opportunity for readers and viewers like me to be given a reason to be interested in him. If it can be done for characters in other films, then I'd really like to see it done well here.
