Also I'm off work this coming 4th of July weekend and have an opportunity for another big storytime, and I'm considering either Arnold Drake's original 41 issue run of Doom Patrol from the Silver Age, or Rachel Pollack's 22 issue run that immediately follows Morrison's, and that I've never read before.
Let me know if you have a preference either way.
By the way, there's some obvious homage to Watchmen going on here. Morrison seems to like doing that a lot.

Yeah, and they're a bunch of young guys from new zealand, ...who'da thunk it?
No way Morrison is gonna let you walk away from this book knowing what the fuck you just read.

I'd be done for Pollacks run. I have not read it either. Also, huge props to OP for this whole thing. This is one of my favorite runs ever!

The Empire of Chairs. Good shit
And...
Damn, there was a really great Negative Man wallpaper I wanted to post, but I can't find it.
Anyway, that's the end of our journey. For now.
Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed it, it's good to share not only one of my personal favorites but a run that was hugely influential.
Buenos noches, anons.
Thanks OP, you are great.
Are there any other great teams composed by C-list heroes?

The Outsiders, Justice League International (including JL Detroit and JL Europe), Checkmate, Young Justice, L.E.G.I.O.N. and R.E.B.E.L.S., Infinity Inc, Seven Soldiers (also by Morrison), and Suicide Squad/Secret Six though those are C-list villains.

I really disliked Pollack's run, but am curious. I got the first 3 issues and was not impressed.
The focus of the series stopped being about Cliff, who was a great everyman/straight man type that the reader could associate and sympathize with when facing the weird stuff. Pollack shifted the focus to Dorothy for her run. It just felt...wrong.
TL; DR - I didn't like Pollack's run, but am curious about it.

Awwww. Such a sweet ending( if you choose to see it that way)
>>84158533
The few things I've heard of it haven't been great, yeah. I'm just curious because it's a big chunk of Doom Patrol history I've never experienced.

Just finished reading this. Bumping for others

I'm 100% up for Drake.
Morrison likes turning sorta-good guys fucking evil, and killing New York, doesn't he?
