I determined the majority of my pull list based on Characters rather than Arista or Writers.
If a comic has an alt-sex/gender character, I'm 10x more critical of the story/writing and art duties than if it featured any other character type.
Not sure why. Maybe I subconsciously feel like if comics creators and publishers are going to go in this particular direction, it should be good, first and foremost. Comics for "everyone else" already has a market saturated with crap.

I think subscriptions are fucking stupid. I pick up whatever I feel like and I don't try to tie myself down to a certain number of series. That's a load of committee that I don't really need
I don't put a lot of thought into the main characters of the books I read so nearly all of them are dudes. Not that I have anything against any female characters, except the fact that most of them either suck or just don't seem as interesting as what the males heroes are doing
Scott Snyder is overrated, Death of the Family is certainly NOT the best Batstory in recent memory, his work will most certainly be forgotten and replaced by whatever hotshot writer takes on Batman. King is probably going to be that guy, but I respect his work and am amazed he's been able to be so consistent despite the fact he's writing like 4 cross company books at once and that all of the are very well received so far
Green Lantern and Flash have no personality
It is near shameful and depressing the lack of new content being produced by Marvel and DC
A lot of Independent books feel really lame and uninspired. We get it, comics can be about more than Superheroes. They feel more like pitches for HBO shows than they do a genuine/sincere collaboration piece between writing and art
