So some characters died, some are presumed dead for now, Springer had a secret identity, Verity recovered miraculously and Prowl might end up on trial. The End.
>>
>>84140320
>>84140322
Yeah, this was nowhere near as good as LSotW.
>>
>>84140322

Take a look at the tire in the bottom right, btw.
>>
>>84138807
When does this comic take place, because if I'm not mistaken, in one of the other Transformers comics, Optimus just sent Arcee to hunt down Galvatron.
>>
I did not like it.

The whole mini felt cramped, the pacing was insanely fast and characters were just dropeed into the story necause the story needed them (Springer being magically well, because others needed him, is the best example). Deaths had little emotional impact for both readers and characters. Fuck, they shoved Ironfist's dead body in out faces to play on our emotions, because they could not replicate the sense of loss from LSOW so hey, let's go for a cheap shot! Flashbacks fucking everywhere, instead of telling a story here and now in an established setting. It does not compare to the LSOTW in any way (where there was a clear setting with a beginning, middle and end, here is a mess), everything about the main plot points is either blurry or ambiguous and seems like half oh the action happens offscreen (Verity is healed! Stakeout got crushed!) and it's hard to place it chronologically with the main continuity. Oh, and pseudo science babble EVERYWHERE, half the dialogue is EXPLANATIONS and then more EXPLANATIONS.

It was a mess with no emotional depth, fabricating most of the actual story with tedious flashbacks and present time being little more than a battlefield. All those words words words, and you still can barely tell why things are happening. And those titular sins? Roadbuster was a psycho killer! Guzzle is crazy and wants revenge on Kup and Prowl (pretty inderstandable if you ask me)! Arcee was crazy and acted as Prowls lackey! Kup was crazy and killed some dudes! Impactor kills guys when they pose a threat! Prowl is a manipultive asshole and a ruthless monster! All those are things we either knew about long before or were done by people clearly not well of mind. If we count Prowl out, this should have been called "The GUILT of the Wreckers".

Oh, and what was Tarantulas' real goal? Revenge? Revealing the truth about Prowl? Experiments? Who cares, here's another crazy science machine and two pages of explanations what it does!

A fizz with no bang.
>>
>>84140281
>>84140291
Two pages that could have helped with the godawful pacing? Fuck that, make 'em solid black!
>>
>>84140341
SOMEWHERE. Seriously, there was no time for that shit, Arcee was busy every single second since OP took his crew back to Earth.

>>84140251
How can we make it kore ambiguous than it already was? ERASE THE WORDS! Genious! Now nobody has any idea what the fuck is going on!

>>84140333
Oh, nice catch.

To be honest, if I did not read any TF comics before, I'd have trouble telling who is the bad guy and why. This whole thing was a mess.
>>
Okay, so why did he keep repeating "Rule" over and over. I know it was part of the catchphrase "Wreck and Rule," but was it a way of keeping time in his head till the blast? Was he answering an increasingly insane Springer? Was he just repeatedly psyching himself up?
>>
>>84140799
Basically, he and Springer were testing their connection. If they stopped hearing the other, they assumed they were the only one alive, so to blow things up.

Also, are you going to storytime Transformers vs GI Joe?

Are you even able to?
>>
>>84140436
They couldn't, you dumbass. IDW only does 20 page comics like most other publishers--it only adds extra ones, like those two, when they use no new art at all.
>>
>>84141047
Tell that to Transformers vs GI Joe #13. 43 pages.
>>
>>84141099
Not a standard issue and not relevant.
>>
>>84140512
You couldn't tell the massive spider creature everyone was fighting was the bad guy?
>>
>>84140512
>SOMEWHERE. Seriously, there was no time for that shit, Arcee was busy every single second since OP took his crew back to Earth.
Except for the scene in #44 where Jetfire greets Arcee and Kup after they get back from somewhere. Not very hard to figure out.

>>84141285
This anon obviously isn't the brightest tool in the shed.
>>
>>84141334
*Except for the scene in #45
>>
It was alright but it definitely wasn't as great as LSOTW.

It definitely fell flat.

I don't get why Kup and Arcee didn't just drag Prowl back with them, I get they hate him but he is still a wanted fugitive. Was it cause he rescued Springer?

then again whatever will happen in the MTMTE portion of Titans Returns needs Prowl in it.

since Impactor's joined up with the Mayhem, I can see a future sequel being Mayhem of the Wreckers.

I'm glad Verity and Springer are fine at least. I wonder what they are doing while All Hail Optimus is going on,
>>
>>84141442
Hopefully staying out of things. At least until the multicrossover event.

I could see them showing up in Action Man or something, as cameos.
>>
>>84141994
Maybe they'll help ROM kill some Dire Wraiths.
>>
So it's now canon that humans and cybertronians can have children.

The end is here.

>>
>>84142873
That's only one offshoot side-canon, it doesn't affect all others. That would be like saying the fact that the Autobots could fly in the pilot of G1 means they can fly in Animated.
>>
>Brawn and Cover Girl

....What.

Not, like, how was that possible--they explain it. But, uh, where did they ever show attraction to each other?

Still a damn fine finale, though.
>>
>>84142873
>believing anything in that acidtrip of a comic carries over to anything else
>>
>>84143008

And what a trip it was.

Meanwhile, it's a damn good thing you left the door open for more Tarantulas, Roche. Or I would have been mad.
>>
I can't help feeling I needed to see inside Impactor's head more. A lot of the choices he made in this series would have benefited from getting some context on what he was thinking at the time.

My only other issue is that I felt the final bit was Guzzle needed a bit more setup and was resolved a bit too quickly. I get that Guzzle was unstable - that was set up well enough. I understood his reasoning, but the timing of it, and him just being done with and moved on didn't sit right with me.

>>84142989
>>84143008
I think he's more just saying that the precedent had now been set. Even if this is an offshoot, it's been done now and could in theory inspire/legitimize more.
>>
So did they ever show what came of Arcee meeting the Camien's and understanding what was the same and what was different about their "she" with her "she"?
>>
>>84140322
Kinda lost but who is she sitting on?
>>
>>84142991
I'm not sure if attraction was shown, but they did interact quite a bit.
>>
>>84143071
She met them briefly at the end of DC. She basically said, "huh, I don't really feel anything" and that they were really not the same as her (being that they were naturally female, while she had it forced onto her in the worst way possible.

Either way, from a meta-level I think they just want to get past all that and just have females as normal. Arcee still has a damaged past, but it's more about the torture/trauma than specifically the "I'm different" thing now.
>>
>>84143124

Springer.

Notice anything near that 'End' box?
>>
>>84143124
I didn't realize until someone pointed it out, but it's Springer. I guess that's how they confirmed he got out.
>>
>>84143071
No, because there's no difference about any innate qualities of their gender, only in how they came to be. The titan colonies* simply continued having multiple genders naturally, while Arcee was vivisectioned/brainwashed to change her into female. Arcee's since accepted the change anyway.

*Remember: Cybertron is the odd one out when it comes to gender, not any one of the colonies)
>>
I really don't get what they're trying to imply with Impactor now. Is he going to be a bad guy?
>>
>>84143683
There are no good guys and bad guys in war. Only soldiers fighting for the interests of others.
>>
>>84143683
I felt like that could have used a little more explanation. I don't quite see how Impactor and Mayhem made up after this fight, nor do I fully understand what goals of theirs would overlap. I really feel me needed more understanding of what Impactor was thinking. If he killed Hubcap to keep secrets buried to keep the peace, why join a group of revolutionaries after?

we really need a proper epilogue.

I'm still confused why Arcee and Kup didn't bring Prowl's butt back to Prime for punishment.

was it cause he saved Springer and they thought, he's a prick but he did sort of save him.....ehh fuck it.
>>
For those who saw the UW Lynx Master vs Grand Galvatron comic; did anyone find it odd that Sky-Lynx got weaker when he combined with 4 Autobots? The guy could take Predaking alone, and now he needs 4 guys just to hold against Grand Galvatron?

I read the summary, but unless both teams are ridiculously strong compared to other combiners (which might be true, since the got remade by Unicron or Vector Sigma), this whole thing makes no sense.
>>
>>84145457
None of the main ranking Autobots actually care about any things like justice or rule of law, only their egos and dislike for others. A fundamentally broken system that is barely sustainable and only allowed to exist because of wide-eyed idealists in the lower ranks are ignorant to their nature and the other options are worse.
>>
>>84145596
Why wouldn't they be crazy broken compared to the ones that are built from their contemporary technology? Like of the ones only Superion and Menasor had any sort of divine influence and that was uplifting machines into living organisms, not from normal transformers into gods.

>implying Predaking could take on Galvatron, let alone a Unicron powered Galvatron combiner
>>
>>84145726
Because, since I don't have an exact translation, I assume they're like normal combiners in terms of power.

I want to assume they aren't, but unless the comic goes "Grand Galvatron beat the ever living shit out of Optimus Maximus/Superion/Defensor without breaking a sweet" it's hard to know if that's true or not.
>>
>>84145732
There seems to be some kind of conservation of ninjutsu thing here. Arcee being the only one that is female by their standards and everyone else being male that simply looks feminine by human standards made her a cool freak, when many are female a lot of them don't do anything other than sit around.
>>
>>84145778
>"Grand Galvatron beat the ever living shit out of Optimus Maximus/Superion/Defensor without breaking a sweet"

That's not a good baseline either, the new combiner always beat the shit out of the old one's in the show. They'd have to fight MULTIPLE combiners at the same time to prove that.
>>
>>84145732
So how come their can be ones that are multiple for Female/Combiner/Non-humanoid at once if they were different groups? And is Trepan actually a girl that was raised as a boy like the other ones on that chart since he has a similar body?
>>
>>84140311
Who's the walrus-bot on the left
>>
>>84145914
>And is Trepan actually a girl that was raised as a boy like the other ones on that chart since he has a similar body?
Some people guess that yes, any new ones that might have at one time been somehow female are simply called male since Cybertron doesnt allow females.
>>
>>84145914
They were mixing up the tribes. As for Trepan, just because A is B doesn't mean B is always A. Squares and Rectangles.
>>
>>84145993
But they don't reproduce sexually. How would that work outside of artificial methods?

>>
>>84146044
They are made from sparks released from the Titans into the ground which forms into the protoform using materials there and then solidifies into a metal body upon maturation. Are you saying that the Titans can transfer data between each other on the kind of offspring they produce?
>>
>>84146131
It wasn't the only the Titans that were spitting out those types of Cybertronians back then. And remember, there's mystical shit like the Enigma of Combination in play, as well as good ol' fashioned rebuilding. Plus I don't really think females were limited to Solus Prime's tribe in IDW, considering all the ones on all the different colonies.

Ah. Well, there's always redecoes.
>>
>>84145914
Basically, in the really old days, spark hotspots formed all over the place and could produce anyone.

Over time, factions formed based on form (keep in mind that there never was an all-female group though).

The colony ships had a hot spot within them. It would appear that either these hotspots were "small gene pools" and often colonies were of one "genetic theme". This might have just been the various tribes somehow putting a hot spot on their ships that only somehow made a certain type of sparks, or maybe that the conditions of the places they settled favored certain forms. (again, keep in mind that other than the beasts and micromasters, the other colonies don't really seem to have a huge overall trait, so some colonies might have been more exclusive than others.

Some time after the colonies left, the hotspots started to dry up. Possibly related to this, or due to genocide, certain traits seemed to disappear too (combiners, headmasters, females).

Given enough time, people basically forgot these types ever existed or believed them to only be legend. Millions of years of war certainly provided a healthy distraction and destroyed loads of records too.

TL;DR - this isn't like the Aligned version of The Thirteen where there was one single founder of each trait and thus mixing would be hard.

The Micromaster Combiner colony wasn't even about combining until they landed. Hell, if their sparks being born in pairs might actually be sparks being split apart during emergence, leading to smaller sparks and smaller capacity to animate bodies, so even being Micromasters might not have been a thing of theirs until they landed.
>>
>>84146808
>Hell, if their
Hell, their*
>>
>>84140320
I liked it at some points and then it just felt so whatever.

The ending was whatever, I guess Verity and Springer made it out so there's that.

Stakeout didn't deserve to die like that though, it was a shitty death.
>>
>>84146307
Which is lazy writing. Why do aliens always end up simply mimicking human cultures in fiction?
>>
>>84146456
What is the point of using Alligned bullshit anyway. They had their own gods and then throw them away for brand-synergy which doesn't even work and is irrelevant outside of one sourcebook to begin with.
>>
>>84147242
Because writing a truly alien culture is almost impossible; humans are fantastic at picking out fictional traits and attaching parts of their lives to them.

A truly alien culture would have to be utterly incoherent for people to be unable to make SOME connection with our own lives.
>>
>>84147269
Well, it might have been a Hasbro mandate and brand synergy means something to execs even if it doesn't always play out for creatives.

For what it's worth, the thirteen are not literal gods in IDW, only worshiped by some.
>>
>>84147269
The concept of the Thirteen predated Aligned, and it's not the exact same concepts of the Aligned Thirteen anyway. Besides, at the time the Guiding Hand was shown the Thirteen were a multiversal constant, so you should have knon since then that the Guiding Hand were a myth.
>>
>>84147242
>>84147300

Pretty Much.

I personally like that they are like people yet aren't.
>>
>>84147691
Multiversal constants are the cancer killing Transformers.
>>
>>84140311

>>
>>84147728

Thanks to Funpub
>>
>>84147691
Which is why Animated Arcee kept invoking Solus Prime and The Fallen was not part of a group of 7 in the Bayverse.
>>
>>84147728
Multiverse stuff wouldn't be so bad if they didn't always have to make it so limiting. Having a multi-dimention police force like Transtech is a fine concept. It can stay out of most fiction, and can add a bit once in a while. But the universal constants stuff is just so limiting. It's basically them saying "fuck you, no more new ideas on this topic. This is how it must always be forever" It doesn't help that the thirteen are the most cliche "X is the origin of trait Y" set of characters.
>>
"Multiversal Constants" are a retarded way of assuring autistic G1 fans they their toys won't magically disappear just because new writers don't want every fucking thing they do to be shackled by what happened in a shitty cartoon that came out 30 years ago.
>>
>>84147897
But they had only one character that was not retroactively declared to be that character in the show in it and he wasn't a toyline character. It does nothing to prevent your Sideswipe from non-existence.
>>
Who even cares anymore? This shit has been legitimately awful. This whole series has been trash since Dark Cybertron and keeps getting worse.

They're barely worth pirating; I only bother catching up every couple of months hoping they've gotten better, but they never do. At this point it's almost impressive how they keep digging the hole even deeper.

RiD is good, for what it is, Vs. GI Joe is good, and Combiner Wars looks alright, but the comics are a complete joke. Hopefully Hasbro cleans house soon because jesus christ. This is like the Penders era of the Sonic book.
>>
>>84148631
Transformers needs a new continuity that scraps everything from older ones such as concepts, character archetypes, locations, culture, and makes a new one that only shares "Alien robotic lifeforms that turn into vehicles" in common and evolves from there.
>>
>>84148631
>This whole series has been trash since Dark Cybertron and keeps getting worse.
Sins of the Wreckers is not part of that series, its a stand-alone mini.
>>
>>84148730
So, you're basically admitting you're stupid?

That's what Season 3 of Transformers did and it almost killed the brand. That would be like DC killing off all their heroes and replacing them all, or Disney getting rid of all their characters and tearing down their parks and trying to start over.

Hasbro learned the hard way that what people are invested in in the series is the characters. That's always been the way it is.
>>
>>84148750
No, it's part of IDW's Transformers canon. It is not standalone at all.
>>
>>84148730

INB4 RUINED FOREVER!
>>
>>84148834
No, Transformers Season 3 was still build on the foundations of previous story, just moved ahead in time. Death is not needed if it is a different series instead of a sequel.
>>
>>84148895
Its been ruined forever since the day G1 aired.
>>
>>84148936
Exactly. The cartoon was terrible bastardization of the original comics.
>>
>>84148898
Yes, Season 3 replaced the characters but continued the story and was fucking dispised for years. So was Beast Wars until it brought in G1 continuity.

Meanwhile RiD/Car Robots was bad but people embraced it just because it brought back the characters they liked in a familiar form.

What you are suggesting would quite literally kill the franchise.

>inb4 "good all old things should be destroyed!!!"

>>84148967

the original comics was a terrible bastardization of the original toys.

>>84149254

It doesn't do anything. It's going to keel over and die. Optimus will declare it's corpse to be sovereign territory of Cybertron and name it Autobot City, from whence he will continue to conquer the world.

That doesn't mean that they were considered abominations. Galvatron and others have, at many points, been all like URGH BEASTFORMERS URGH COMBINERS. But at no point have any of them been like URGH GIRLS except for the gay ones obviously. If Galvatron thought girl Transformers were abominations were abominations we'd have heard about it by now.

IDW's continuity was trash for most of its existence, just had a bubble of around 2 years where it was decent, then went back to be trash, just a different flavor of trash from Simon Furman going through the numbers and cartoon wank to failed attempts at appealing to a wider audience and sitcom wank.

Ha.
>>
>>84151331
It has been on a generally negative trend in sales over the last few years and supplementary books such as Windblade which were intended as ongoing do not survive.
>>
>>84151381

Windblade was never intended to be an ongoing, and Diamond sales on the core titles were up about 2k in March 2016 compared to March 2015. Those sales don't even take into account digitial sales, which account for a huge chunk of Transformers comic sales these days. Futhermore it doesn't account for the fact that MTMTE enjoys strong graphic novel sales from people jumping onto the series as it's hype builds.

No, we don't like the current TF comics, but we're not the target audience anymore. It's like with Squirrel Girl and Batgirl at the Big Two; companies going where the money is. The Tumblr crowd love supporting artists, and do it on principle, so they get catered to.
>>
>>84151640
>It's a "you grew out of the target audience" episode

Wasn't the point of the rehashing 80s to 90s entertainment series so that you would be able to live in endless nostalgia pandering instead of changing interests as adult?

The green text bubble when Impactor is talking is springer saying wreck, and that's why Impactor keeps saying "rule" to let springer know he's hearing him.
Springer specifically says "If you stop hearing me, you know what to do"
notice how springer keeps saying "wreck" because he doesn't know he can't be sure impactor can't hear it.
Then when impactor is talking to arcee about whether to blow the place, he stops saying rule

Galvatron was specifically driving out Nexus and Onyx because they were combining beast and man.
That's what he considered an abomination. Notice that Rhynox was perfectly fine.
he had no problem with the progeny of the primes, he had a problem with that progeny mixing in ways that altered both fundamentally.

It also establishes that Galvatron killing a prime made all the primes flee, so the fact that the beasts think cybertron chased them off was because Onyx was literally fearing for his life.
>>
>>84149870
It's the crystal city titan.
>>
>>84151769
The point of rehashing 80/90s stuff was to get money from people with nostalgia. Which you can only do so much of. Particularly when said group often loudly hates any change.

If companies see a different demo willing to buy their books and another is dimishing returns, it's not hard to guess which way a for-profit company will go.

All the same, this whole idea is predicated on the idea that the 80s/90s kids and the "tumblr" fans are mutually exclusive, which is not true.

Outside of the shitposters, and those who never liked IDW ever, a chunk of the loud complaints you might hear are from people who still like the books, but are sad to see the comics decline (in their minds).

I, for one, will often be harder on something I like declining than something I didn't like getting worse. I don't really read much DC. so if I see them do something that seems really dumb, I don't care much and don't react. But when I see a series I loved (like S1 MTMTE) decline, I dislike it more strongly and am more likely to talk about my gripes.

Overall, I still like the comics. RID is good when it isn't written by Hasbro, MTMTE is good when it feels like season 1, and TAAO is looking alright so far (partly as it reminds me of season 1 RID).

I'm personally disappointed because I really enjoyed how they started out with MTMTE and RID, but try as I might it's just been downhill for me.

You're complaining about something like that in a comic universe about giant transforming robots? Well okay, but the weight isn't going to be a problem since they obviously have anti-gravity in their super advanced space ships. The place is also the headquarters of the Wreckers so they keep their dead close. Why? It's obviously important to them.

The far more obvious question is how in the world that many bodies of deceased Wreckers were even able to be recovered given their line of work.

Did he? You honestly think Tarantulas meant he could acquire a lifetime of study from her (among the others) and never get bored again because of her robot suit?

He's an unparalleled trans-organic surgeon at this point, rivaling if not exceeding Jhiaxus who, however much a genius, never quite got over the notion that insanity was a design flaw of his creations. So when this guy "fixed" her is it really all that hard to wonder if maybe he tinkered under her hood? Especially when he was curious about what made them care about her, and other humans, in the first place. The ending of issue 4 even hinted as much. She doesn't just feel "better," she feels "weird."
>>
>>84166766
Tarantulas was pushing stealth tech, the ability to mask spark signatures and hide among a planets animal population. But he never revealed anything deeper. Why hide as a bunny rabbit when you could just as easily hide as a member of the dominant sentient species on a planet? Spy, disrupt, or even enter local politics.

IDW has made som forays into this before. Not just the more traditional headmasters but Ultra Magnus used a holo avatar disguise on Nebulos and then there is whatever Blackrock is. I'm not sure Tarantulas can fix without taking the opportunity to improve, and I'm not entirely confident in his definition of fix either.

Just not sure what he might have done with her if he had the inclination (he certainly had the opportunity). Given his interest in mass-shifting I'm amused by the thought of an Ultra Magnus sized Verity running around, freaking out.

So are they setting up a new Wrecker's comic with the ending or what? I'm kind of tired of Impactor bullshit. He just hasn't been very interesting. Something about his gritty too-cool kill-everyone manner that seems so...90s? Needs more storage compartments for that, I guess.

Also Springer is a knockoff now. So much so nobody can tell even when they have to rebuild his face practically from scratch.

I suppose what I'm ultimately wondering is how much of this will play into the continuing antics of Prowl, or if the only carryover from his time in this comic will be his repaired eye.

>>

A lot of this did. The reason it felt so inferior (at least to me) from LSOTW is that the deaths felt gratuitous, and sometimes didn't have much weight. It's just like, "Whelp, can't do a Wreckers story without mass casualties, tee-hee!"

Also shit like Ironfist's coffin, out of all of them, just happened to slam down in front of Verity and his head popped out, just to fuck with her. I'd say what are the odds, but it was just the writer's trying to be huge dicks.
