Coran and Lance are fine mostly, Hunk has his moments.
I've only watched the first 9 episodes but Keith is a total non-character so far. He's just vague brooding with no meat. Allura's too perfect to be interesting as well. She's not a Mary Sue, she's just the 80's cartoon perfect space princess trope played completely straight. They didn't really do much to bring that character into the 21st century.

Pidge is 10/10 physical comedy.

Hunk feels mostly like a two trick pony (running away and food). His obsession with helping out the rock people felt like there could have been something though

Keith doesn't do much but brood, never shows why really

Shiro is a 100% leader, and the show is really heavy on how right (but he's also the oldest)

Lance is like a new Sokka

Coran could be better, but he feels like a weird mentor figure. Bumi and Iroh mixed together.


This series feels like a new Avatar. Not quite as good at worldbuilding, but I can't wait for more. I think the characters will flesh out some as the series progresses.
