When I first watched the show I could barely make out anything he said. Closed captioning and the few words I could understand made it clear it wasn't supposed to be gibberish, but it was like 95% incomprehensible to me.

Now that I've actually watched it a lot I get the speech pattern he's using and can make out like every word, but for someone who's not from the South and has no idea some people actually sound like that, it can pretty easily throw you off at first.
