It was surprisigly great, really enjoyed it throughout. Sure it doesn't have the same organic feel in terms of storytelling compare to the original, but I thought this was a great new addition to the established storyline, didn't feel like a cashgrab. I'm glad they didn't just revisit the familiar set pieces to the original, makes it feel fresher. New characters were great as well. And one thing, this sequel really is about Dory, so if you didn't care about her character or her story at all, you won't probably enjoy it. Surprisingly a worthy sequel and solid movie.
Still holding Zootopia as the best animated movie so far, but I'm just happy that Disney keep making quality movies for general audiences compare to other schlock this year.

I liked it, but there was some stuff about it that kept me from really loving it like a lot of people seem to do.
Let's get this clear. I thought the characters and the actors were fantastic, the jokes were funny, and they succeeded in not completely copying over the plot of the first movie well enough.
That said, Dory is probably the fucking worst choice for an entire story to be based off of. Really the only reason they did it is because if you were making a Finding Nemo sequel, you would have to be pants on head retarded not to make it about her and receive your license to print money.
Her ENTIRE contribution to the movie is "Hi, please help me, oh I don't remember sorry" and then just conveniently finding things that trigger her memories that get her to the end of the story. Even the other characters are annoyed about this, which is good on the writers because they at least made you relate with everyone that has to put up with Dory. They try to mix it up with the side characters, who were all fucking amazing... but then they pull the EXACT SAME SHIT with baby Dory, but you don't give a shit because they must have hired a team of fucking scientists and sorcerers to create the cutest fucking character in human history.
tl;dr Overall, my take is a B+. Everything is phenomenal except that the entire movie can be summed up as "Hi, I'm Dory, I need help, oh I don't remember, oh wait now I do, oh wait now I don't..." and somehow this just works out.
Also fuck Pixar for pulling the bait and switch on finding the parents TWICE. The first time was obligatory, the second time you were just trying shamelessly to get tears from your audience.

So I definitely think Finding Nemo was better. Dory is a good movie but it lost a few things that Nemo had.
Specifically a sense of danger. In Nemo it felt like Marlin was almost always in danger as he traversed the sea. In Dory there's one scene like that and they quickly all arrive at the marine sanctuary where there isn't one element of danger.

Gerald is just a sea lion that randomly shows up sometimes in the movie, usually standing on the same rock, then two sea lions repeatedly tell him to get off the rock.
This movie's really similar to Monsters University, to me. But if you were to say that Monsters Inc and Finding Nemo were 10/10 (they're not, but just assuming they're the bar) then MU is an 8/10, and Finding Dory is a 6/10.
I feel like with Finding Dory, it works best if you see Finding Nemo first on the same day. It leans way too heavily on the first film. It has a lot of good jokes, the characters are good, and the central conflict is alright, but the execution of everything felt very mediocre. In a straight-to-TV film sort of way. I will say in terms of outright badness, the use of slow motion and constant flashbacks was fucking awful.
