Why, I do believe it's time for some early Silver Age!
But enough about me, how was your weekend?
We'll be looking at a Steve Ditko tale, onc we've gotten the cover story out of the way.
>>84100314
One of my absolute favorite covers ever.
This is legitimately one of the best post-Code 50s horror comics and probably the best single issue of this series.
And now, a Russ Manning story that I didn't post yesterday.
>>84100479
Did EVERY western hero actor in the 50s get their own comic?
>>84100710
More or less. Sometimes even the horses got their own comics!
And now for an issue of Superboy v1 that Curt Swan pretty much drew in its entirety.
As such, I'm posting the entire comic for funsies.
>>84100744
And the horse comics were usually better than the cowboy ones.
Cool.
>>84100917
Could that scan be any darker?
>>84101612
A general goes to war with the army he has, not the army he wants.

bump
Swan only drew the cover, but a cover story's a cover story.
That's enough of the Silver Age for today...
... John McIntire was born 109 years ago today...
... Billy Curtis, who had bit parts in Star Trek, Superman And The Mole Men, and the 1966 Batman TV show, was born 107 years ago...
... Bob Keeshan would've been 89 today...
... Dan Jurgens is 57...
... J.J. Abrams is 50...
... Tobey Maguire is 41...
... Drake Bell is 30...
... Cubby Broccoli died 20 years ago today...
... Jack Lemmon died 15 years ago...
... as did Joan Sims...
... David Newman, who wrote the two good Superman movies, died 13 years ago...
... and Michael Turner died eight years ago.
Well, I'm done for today. I'll be back tomorrow, knock on wood, to give you all some more Silver Age silliness, as well as the usual stuff.

Meh, anon is a poor and lonely guy. Give me the fucking ring.
>>84100448
I don't get the moral?
>Do your fucking job?
See you tomorrow...
>>84103683
The moral is you are inherently a failure, you cannot handle the success you will have, loser.
Thanks, OP.
>>84103614
Thank you
bumping for others.
>>84103683
No it belongs to the future
>>84103317
had no idea captain kangaroo was dead
>oh hey, there a re a few threads I posted in that are still up...
>... and one of them's mine‽
Anyway, how was your day?
It's another whole-issue deal again.
You guessed it - another whole issue to post.
Silver Age Jimmy Olsen was just the most ludicrous-yet-still-entertaining book.
>>84122232
It ties with Lois Lane's ongoing with possessing a certain charm...
>>84122654
Lois' was somehow even more absurd.
>>84122749
And yet examining her almost jaded attempts to woo a man that, deep down, she knew would never marry her is fascinating to read.
That's enough Silver Age for today...
... Mel Brooks is 90 today...
... Pat Morita would've been 84 today...
... John Byner is 79...
... Bruce Davison is 70...
... Gilda Radner would've been 70...
... Kathy Bates is 68...
... Peter Baynham, who wrote Bob & Margaret, Monkey Dust and Arthur Christmas, is 53...
... John Cusack is 50...
... as is Sara Stewart...
... Rod Serling, who wrote the screenplay for the first Planet of The Apes movie, died 41 years ago today...
... Meshach Taylor died 2 years ago...
... and Jack Carter died a year ago.
Well, I'm done for today. I'll be back tomorrow, knock on wood, to give you some more Silver Age silliness, as well as the usual stuff.

Your respect and dutiful nature of recording this history of the things and people you clearly love is very much appreciated.
I am sitting in a quiet bar sampling fancy pizza and beer. And these comics are, somehow, so incredibly perfect. Well done you. >>84124065
>>84124065
See you tomorrow...
>>84125482
Aw, thanks! Enjoy your pizza!
Thanks, OP.
