The curious thing with the movies is that it isn't the usual millions of years of history that they're dealing with. The Fallen and his brothers were active on Earth when humanity had evolved but were still technologically very primitive. We're talking about a very small timescale from the usual Transformers frame. Based on their general lifespans the idea that they've all forgotten their history and language is pretty ridiculous. The movies really did cram events a bit too close together, especially when you compare it to the first attempted cyberforming of the Earth over 65 million years ago!
