Moonstone's one of those legacy characters where she's so totally eclipsed the original that no one remembers he exists.
To my knowledge, she's probably the only direct legacy character that's managed this.

I don't really count Dinah, since her being a Legacy is a retcon.
Originally, there was only one Black Canary. She came from Earth-2 to fuck the brains out of Earth-1's Green Arrow. This was later retconned so that there were two Black Canaries. The original and her daughter. Only one existed at a time, though, while the other was trapped between dimensions. So when she was in Earth-2, she was the original. When she was in Earth-1, she was the daughter who THOUGHT she was the original.

The younger Dinah would believe that she was the original Black Canary, and would learn the truth much later.

People remember Mar-Vell. He was in EMH, the big bad of Thanos Imperative, and Death of Captain marvel is still pretty iconic
As long as Thanos is around it will be really hard to make people forget Mar-Vell
