>Last Days of Magic will never have a lasting effect on 616-U
>At best, it will be used to synchronize with MCU Strange low power-level
>>83979392
that explains the deage in strange
freaking hell, marvel does it again
inb4 end of the chapter
>>83979297
Huh, weird for this to be the first Marvel comic to get storytimed
>>83979341
>The Secret Defenders
Stop trying to make that a thing Stephen, it will never catch on
>>83979466
know right?, i guess everyone was waiting for gwenpool
>>83979364
Stop making this about you, magic would have "died" regardless of how "cocky" you were or whatever (which by the way, you weren't), this isn't a divine lesson to humble you.
>>83979384
Why aren't they using an actual plane? Why won't they use technology to compensate? Why do they refuse to ask the Avengers for help?
and thats all
>>83979418
But Benedict Cumberbatch does have the gray temples, so the deage was pointless since odds are they'll add them back once the movie comes out.
>>83979525
By the sacrosanct shotgun of Shamzzara!
>>83979446
>We've always known that
No you didn't! This whole "price" thing wasn't a thing until Aaron made it up, contradicting decades of continuity.
>>83979547
Does Strange absorb the Thing in the Cellar and recreate magic from literal pain?
That would be a cool twist if all magic came from suffering.
>>83979525
Doesn't Wanda have non-magic powers?
And shouldn't Magyk still have teleportation? And shouldn't the X-Men in Limbo be screwed without her?
>disney infinity was cancelled before this got released
>>83979318
>>
God, this is Godbutcher rehashed
>>83979599
You could also ask why nobody tells the avengers or the x-men about the extradimensional terrorist invasion but dude magic is dying lmao
>>83979629
Shame that Disney Infinity was just too expensive to make.
>>83979651
last issue they say something like "stark doesnt know about magic and doesnt understand it" or something like that
it made no sense, but it was a excuse
>>83979472
>ripping off Doctor Who as hard as he can
Yes, it's been tried before
>>83979681
>Tony "I once made an entire avengers armory out of Uru" Stark knows nothing of magic
Fine
Then why isn't DOOM here?
>>83979762
Isn't Doom still a boring handsome business man?
>>83979762
Doom is supposed to be there actually, if continuity isn't fucked up. He appeared with his vincent cassel face in a previous issue (or was tha tin another title? I can't remember, but he was nailed on a tree with the other magic casters in Stephen's yard)
>>83979902
That was one of the Monks that trained Doom, who wears his mask and does good to compensate for all the evil Doom has brought.
>>83979525
Kind of fitting that the three only good characters in this entire fucking book are the three white guys: Strange, Hellstrom (who is amazing when he's not being written as a drunken date rapist or whatever the fuck Marvel's made him this week), and this Count guy.
You know, when I crack open a Dr. Strange comic, I expect to see extra-dimensional adventures and high-power fights using lots of weird and visually creative spells. I don't expect to see Dr. Strange hitting things with an axe.
That's been my biggest problem with this series so far. For all the talk about magic it doesn't actually feel all that magical. It feels dirty, grimy, and low scale.
>>83980771
thats kinda the theme. what does the guy who relies on magic for everything from colliding dimensions to ordering pizza do without magic
>>83981135
I get it, but there have been a number of "Dr Strange loses his powers" stories since the 80s. I've gotten a bit sick of them.
>>83981172
I wasnt reading his books back then. thats probably what theyre relying on
>>83981219
Yeah, probably. I was done with them after Waid did one a few years back in his miniseries. I'm beyond ready for Strange to get back to his classic shenanigans, tussling with Mephisto and Nightmare and the rest.
>>83981257
we will see the budget/scrutinization they throw at the series after the movie
>>83979547
Thanks OP, it was fun, except for the whining morons in the thread, but that is every thraed nowadays. Cheers
>>83981434
I'm very curious about that. The movie looks like it's going to go more classic Strange, and I'll be interested to see how that feeds back into the comic.
>>83981537
Well, Strange will definetly get his gray temples back. It seems Marvel comics didn't expect Marvel Studios to go with that, so they pre-emptively removed them.
>>83981257
That wasn't Waid's fault, that was the status quo at the time because Bendis wanted to make Brother Voodoo the new Sorcerer Supreme
>>83981594
Oh, I wasn't blaming Waid. It was actually a decent story. But after that one I felt the idea of depowered strange had been played out long enough and it was time to get back to the classics.
>>83981583
Well, movie Strange is definitely younger that comic Strange, at least, before this de-aging. I'd place traditional Strange in his late 40s, early 50s. Cumberbatch is late 30s.
I imagine movie Strange will use more diverse magic too. From what little we've seen/heard about him in the movie, he won't be whacking things with axes.
>>83981912
Yeah, I don't think Jason Aaron's PRICE retcon is sustainable in the long run.
>>83981972
It definitely isn't.
So did this stop reading like "What if Tony Stark knew how to use magic"?
>>83983986
Ehhhh.... sort of? They stopped focusing on Strange as a womanizing playboy, that's for sure.
