I remember the first one being an actually good movie, and the second one being funny but with three really shit new characters, a girl mammoth and her two annoying sons or something. Never watched the third or fourth or however many more there are.
One thing I always wondered is whether or not the friendly reformed sabretooth still eats meat and if he does it front of the mammoth and sloth or what.

If I remember correctly when they announced that they were making a fourth one, they said that the original idea for the fourth was going to be set in the present day with just the 3 main characters. The 3 of them were preserved in ice and end up waking up in a museum then trying to find everyone else or something like that. I can't remember because it was a while ago but I definitely remember reading about it on the wiki page. It's most likely bullshit but it sounds far more interesting.

Remember the original Ice Age?
It was modest and down-to-earth. It had some nice characters and some well-written dialogue. It had talking animals interact with humans, that's something you don't see too often. The animation is kinda dated, but that's OK because it had effort put in to everything else, and it shows.
I miss that Ice Age. It feels like that Ice Age doesn't even exist anymore.
