CAN'T STOP THE COMPLAIN PAIN TRAIN
>>
>>83945065
well now we DEFINITELY need Patreanon to come back.

Also, does anybody have that list of spoilers? I wanna check really quick, but I never saved it from the last thread.
>>
>>83945065
Wasn't Carla's last strip literally emphasizing how much she didn't care about other people?

I think the spoilers guy might've been fibbin' guys.
Also that's a really tiny key.
>>
>>83945182
Nah, spoilers guy said there would be a fight between Carla and Billie, and this may be leading up to it.

Also, I'm pretty sure modern dorms use key cards.
>>
>>83945065
>>83945182
I really hope some pissed-off Asian kid shoots up this dorm.
>>
Alright, so

Does the rest of the dorm know Carla's a MtF tranny?

Do they know Ruth and Billie are lesbians calling herself bisexuals?
>>
>>83945210
I don't have the spoilers, but I thought the whole fight was supposed to be about Carla not checkin' up on Ruth? ...Or holy fuck does Willis consider this a fight.
>>
>>83945065
>>83945182
Also, who the fuck are these tertiary characters? Are we supposed to know their names? Because all I can think of when I see the chick in the fifth panel is some kind of Mario enemy.
>>
,>>83945065
>>83945182

Willis low key attempting to make Carla look better after all the "haters" pointing out how obnoxious she is?

Not that it's working.
>>
>>83945229
No idea. And with the recent revelation that Carla's fuckin' loaded, we can't just assume that she has her own room because she's MtF anymore. Her parent's might've just bought the damn thing.
>>
>>83945229
No to both.
>>
>>83945294

Maybe she just has asperger's or something, that would give her a valid reason to have her own dorm.
>>
>>83945292
That's the thing, he keeps trying to have Carla have her old Ultra-Car personality, but doesn't want to actually play her off as an inconsiderate asshole for fear of angering his comments section.

One of the(or the only) fun things about Ultra-Car was that It didn't give a fuck.
>>
>>83945294
>>83945334
You can book single rooms when applying to live in a dormitory. They're just a titch more expensive than sharing a room.
>>
>>83945182
we should acknowledge that what she's threatening is to call her parents and have them use some factory-built backdoor into every phone's operating system to change everyone's ringtones, NOT manually going through people's things to find their phones and do it herself

>>
>>83945452
Hmm. Other than a few details, it looks as if we ARE gonna be heading down the path in the spoilers. Of course, it's a bit too early to tell for sure, but at the very least it looks to be the case.

>>
>>83945668
Not just a Chad.

A chad based on a friend of his from childhood.
>>
>>83945668
Every character is Willis' self-insert. Danny most especially, though Willis claims that he no longer identifies with him.
>>
>>83945408
Well, at least we know that DoAmerica is safe from terrorists with secure phone passwords, and also that probably all terrorists in DoAmerica are arch-conservative nondenominational Christians.

>>
>>83945911

>>83945455
Yeah, her parents own the closest equivalent to Samsung or HTC. She can root into phones, etc. etc.

Which ... honestly, the laser array she just set up makes no fucking sense if they manufacture consumer electronics. She'd be better off "raiding" the student electronics lab for things to lease for her FUCKING STUPID Rube Golberg machine.

>The comments saying how Carla is such a nice person.
>>
>>83945408
>>83946220

It's also another case of Carla threatening to use her wealth and influence to bludgeon people like a shovel. Good thing she has her trans card as her "Tag, Not-It Forever" counter-move.
>>
>>83945182
Do kids even use custom ringtones anymore? I always hear the default iphone one around my campus
>>
>>83946295
How do you even do custom ringtones?
>>
>>83946263
College is effectively summer camp for the purposes of slice-of-life strips like these.
>>
>>83946282
Carla could commit actual murder and the comments would just say who she killed was probably transphobic so it's totally justified.

>>83946263

Willis is a five year old in a man's body and his college experience amounted to shutting himself in his room until he got expelled.
>>
>>83946346
Willis got expelled? Story please
>>
>>83945292
you know he draws like 5 strips a day, right? this and the last carla strip were probably done at the exact same time.
>>
>>83946346
>Willis is a five year old in a man's body and his college experience amounted to shutting himself in his room until he got expelled.
I thought he dropped out and ended up living in his dorm without people knowing.
>>
>>83946282
she literally left out breakfast for her. how is that not nice
>>
>>83945210
Where I went to college, you had a room key that could get you into the dorm--there was (typically) an outer door anyone could open and an inner door that required the key. You showed your school ID at the front desk, and the person working the desk (65% of the time, it was an RA) would check for your dorm sticker (the dorms rotated colors every year, and it had the school year, such as 13-14, on it). Then, you would go to your room and use the same key you used to get into the building.

As long as you had your ID and key, you were good to go, so I kept mine in a lanyard thingy so I would always have both.

According to current campus people, it's still the same. The measures were put in place after there was an ax murder and rape and stuff.

They keep a list of banned people at the front desk, so if anyone seems suspicious, you can check that for their name and face.

I haven't heard of too many colleges using key cards, but the ones who do must have more updated buildings.

If the school is as old as mine was, they won't be using key cards any time soon.
>>
>>83946292
>Good thing she has her trans card as her "Tag, Not-It Forever" counter-move.

Has she actually done that though?

She had a mental lockup when Mary commented on "belonging in the boys dorm". (Does Mary even know Carla's a tranny?)
>>
>>83946398
Something like that? Either way he was bumming there when he wasn't supposed to be.
>>
>>83946407
It's a good gesture. Doesn't make you a nice person all around thought. Just like someone who gives money to charity and spends their day kicking cats.
>>
>>83946438
shes never used being trans as a counterpoint to anything, no. she doesnt seem to really want everyone to know.
but everyone seems to know anyway, so she probably just doesnt pass
>>
>>83945275
Sal's in panels 2 & 3. Rachel is the girl with the shirt, and (wait for it) the girl in the last panel is referred to as (I kid you not) Other Rachel.
>>
>>83946460
true, but outside of annoying people on purpose has carla ever actually done anything mean?
>>
>>83946543
SHE WAS JUST TRYING TO STUDY
>>
>>83945370
Where I went, it was simply double the cost--you're paying for both halves instead of just one.

Because I have asthma and am a girl, I got with disability to keep me from having to be with girls who like perfume and hair spray and crap. If you have a legitimate reason to be with disability, then all you have to do is get a doctor's note saying that your condition is bad enough that you need your own room.

So it could be either in Carla's case.
>>
>>83946570
>So it could be either in Carla's case.
Carla suffers from a a case of "Triggered Syndrome". Can lead to incidents if the wrong things are said.
>>
>>83946569
you know mary never even said anything about studying. just cause she was shown with a book for a couple panels doesnt mean thats what she was doing
if she was studying and it was important to her why would she not have brought that up?
>>
>>83946522
I recognized Sal, since she's the only other character with an actual name.

No idea who Rachel or Other Rachel are, or if they were ever meant to be anybody. You'd think Willis would have had a story with them at one point, given how he plans to stretch DoA into infinity. Why not decompress the timeline by having another two weeks of strips dedicated to new/obscure characters?
>>
>>83946638
they don't have any rainbow gender or mental illness for him to exploite so they are relegated to the background
>>
>>83946638
theyre just background characters who live in the dorm
>>
>>83946638
Rachel is Joe's wife from the Walkyverse.

Other Rachel was a SEMME background filler from It's Walky.
>>
>>83945065
I feel like the Stockholm Syndrome line is one of those weird Willis "Take THAT haters!" lines, the sort he's done regarding Becky's haircut.
>>
>>83946872
no, its a joke about how ruth is a shithead and billie does actually have stockholm syndrome

how would that be about haters, like what is your logic here
>>
>>83946903
>billie does actually have stockholm syndrome

How?
>>
>>83947032
Easy Wikipedia reference:
"Stockholm syndrome can be seen as a form of traumatic bonding, which does not necessarily require a hostage scenario, but which describes "strong emotional ties that develop between two persons where one person intermittently harasses, beats, threatens, abuses, or intimidates the other.""

Ruth did all of those things--harass, beat, threaten, abuse, and intimidate Billie.

She forcefully pinned her against a wall and kissed her. She continued to be rude and awful after that, until Billie finally gave in.
>>
>>83947079
I don't think you understand how deep Willis' head is up his own ass

He writes them as a bad couple, but he doesn't see Ruth as an abuser because then that would make her a bad person. His waifus can't be bad people, anon.
>>
>>83947225
Explain Mary, who was explicitly created as a waifu.
>>
>>83947333
waifu + shame + need for external validation = mary
>>
>>83947382
Ah yes, the Willis equation - the death that is life.
>>
>>83947333
the shameful fap

For some it's thicc girls

For Willis it's Christian ones
>>
>>83946903
I guess I just get the feeling Willis thinks if he lampshades this issue he wont have to actually deal with it.
Unless this actually spurs Billie to figuring out how to get out of this relationship, it's a weird fucking joke where the punchline is how she's in an abusive relationship.
>>
>>83945182
HEY NOW!
>>
>>83947423
Actually, for Willis I believe it's shortstacks.
If you note his artistic evolution (de-evolution?) over the years, his girls have gotten shorter and stouter.

I don't write them down, but I can give you a brief summary if you like.
>>
>>83947639
I'm interested. What do you have?
>>
>>83947536
>four alternate universes with two different flavors of post-apocalypse.
And a packet of Crisps?
>>
>>83947652
>Quarter-Life Crisis:
Set seven years after DoA. Primary storylines are Sarah and Dina, now a couple, and their struggles with Sarah starting her law career as Dina fails to get into a doctorate program, Joyce, whose trauma over her attempted rape caused her to develop crippling agoraphobia, rebuilding her life while rekindling her friendship with Becky, and Dorothy and Walky's crumbling marriage as Dorothy pushes headlong into politics. Secondary plots involve Billie getting her life back on track after years of alcoholism and Sal trying to find direction and meaning.

>Dumbing of Apocalypse:
Follows Sarah, Carla, Dina, Walky, and Dorothy as they rebuild society after a nuclear war. Has two side stories.
-Sidestory one follows Sal as she treks across Midwest alone, mostly a travelogue and character study that slowly turns surreal.
-Sidestory two follows Mary as she roams the countryside as a paladin-esque figure doing good and writing wrongs while being petty and judgmental.

>It's Armageddon!
Gonzo post-apoc where every possible apocalypse happened. Global warming flooded the globe which caused uncurable pandemics which triggered nuclear war that caused the megavolcanoes to erupt which unleashed the demon hordes summoned the zombies that drew the attention of the aliens who caused the robot uprising. Features Sierra trying to be a new Johnny Appleseed and Joe grumbling about Sierra stopping every five minutes to plant a tree as they try to stay one step ahead of an oblivion worshipping cult led by a skimpily dressed Joyce. Also feature Jacob as the mysterious gunslinger who rides the wasteland hunting for the four armed demon cyborg samurai that killed his family.

>Unnamed multiversal AU
Haven't fleshed this one out much, it's about an organization comprised of alternate versions of Willis' cast that explores and defends various realities. Primary characters are Becky and Mike.
>>
>>83948140
...Holy SHIT.

All four of those sound AMAZING and I'd love to read anything along these lines that you actually decide to write. You've really nailed the one thing that frustrates me the most about DoA - the cast is interesting and compelling, but the story they're being forced into SUCKS.

OOOoooh! We got a fight!?

>>83948314
back to crap again, i see
>>
>>83948231
I probably won't write any of it. I'm not very keen on long form fanfiction. Granted, three of them a different enough to stand on their own so I'll probably wind up reusing the ideas in something. I really wish I knew how to draw, as I'd rather draw all these weird and alternate versions than write about them.
>>
>>83948411
It's still a nice look into what could have been. I appreciate you taking the time to write it out for us. I enjoyed it.
>>
>>83948445
I probably spend way too much time thinking about shit like this. There's just something about Willis that makes it incredibly easy to go off on weird tangents with his characters. One minute I'm sitting down doing whatever then after a few minutes I'm thinking up shit like a transdimensional cyberpunk megacorp controlled and staffed entirely by alternate versions of Carla.
>>
>>83948533
If you're not already writing for superhero comics, you should be.
>>
>>83948587
I'll add it to the list of things I would mind trying but probably won't get around to doing. I think part of me just needs to get all these weird ideas off my chest.
>>
>>83948733
I gotcha. It's just that you seem to have a knack for both detailed, off-the-wall ideas and working with other people's characters, both of which seem to make you a good fit for what Marvel and Dc are doing now.
>>
>>83948782
I've always found it easier to develop off something pre-existing then separating the idea from the source and refining it into something unique.
>>
>>83948826
Oh, same here. I've often wondered what DoA would be like if the plot was ONLY focused on Joyce, for example.
>>
>>83945182

>I asked you to keep sure she's okay.

That's gonna change tomorrow I'm sure. How embarrassing for him.
>>
>>83948860
It'd go by much quicker or Joyce would suffer a disproportionate amount of dramatic, life changing moments.

In all seriousness, I've realized that if you focus entirely on Becky you could turn DoA into a great piece of Christian fiction.
>>
>>83948893
This comic really would be better with fewer characters.
>>
>>83948930
The characters aren't the problem it's his pacing and format. Something as simple as switching to a nine panel page format three times a week would massively improve the series.
>>
>>83948893
>I've realized that if you focus entirely on Becky you could turn DoA into a great piece of Christian fiction.
Joyce/Becky could fit right into a Jack Chick strip as the straight-edge character and the heathen deviant.

Actually, has Becky renounced her religion yet? Or is just assumed she has?
>>
>>83949473
becky has not renounced her religion at all, shes still christian. shes even been to church since coming out, even before this storyline.

i mean, you can still be christian and gay.
>>
>>83948969
>nine panel page format three times a week
but that would be less comic per week. how would that improve the pacing?
>>
>>83949947
>you can still be christian and gay
I know a lesbian couple who broke up over the fact that one was tired of being unwelcome at church.
>>
>>83949965
Maybe not nine panels, but a page per update would make the comic flow a lot faster when it's just people having conversations.

>>83950163
Some churches are more accepting of others. If you did Becky's story as Christian fiction it wouldn't be conservative Christian fiction but you could still make it work. A young girl, cast out because of her homosexuality, braving the world she had been sheltered from to find the only friend she believes will help only to fed, sheltered, and protected by complete strangers who offer their charity to for no reason other than she needs it. Becky is the story of a woman who finds herself in the world she was taught was full of sin and iniquity only to discover the Kingdom of God within her midst.

In the recent Carla/Mary situation alone, you have her skating up and down the hallways, you have her stomping about when her skates are glued together, you have her asking God to kill Mary, you have her making noise when measuring Mary's doorway, you have her hitting Mary in the face with a pie (coupled with her flipping the bird), and you have that last monologue bit where she's like "I exist and you hate that" or whatever.

So that's six.

Also, I must have missed that second strip.
>Nobody's going to care by tomorrow
Willis, this is America. Everybody cares, even when nobody got shot. They're going to care about safety, they're going to care about motive, they're going to care about gun laws, et cetera. Saying that nobody will care when a gunman comes to campus and doesn't shoot anybody (even though he technically DID fire a shot into the air) is just a way to shirk any actual world-building in your storyline.

Jesus Christ, Willis; I knew you were a hack, but I didn't realize you were that bad. "Yeah, somebody broke into our house, but they didn't steal or break anything, so I'm not even gonna bother calling the cops." That's what you sound like.

>>
>>83946543

To start with, I collected all of the strips with Carla being mean. And the file was too big to attach. AND the list is so long, I have to do a second comment.

Here's the file: http://tinypic.com/r/2u9kbc1/9

Here we see Carla in nearly every one of her appearances, being antagonistic and generally a terrible person.

She...
-insults Malaya's fake ID
-calls Amazi-Girl a "psychotic violent nutcase"
-insults and antagonizes Sal multiple times
-tries to pretend she's not a human so she doesn't want to go on "muderous rampages"
-calls Sal's friends "dumb"
-wears skates to give an "upspoken middle finger to everyone"
-flaunts her "obvious mobile superiority"
-"mock[s] them with aloof detachment
-is "so rude"
-gives literal middle fingers to people who haven't done anything wrong

(part 1)
>>
>>83964118
I don't think the Amazi-Girl one counts since Amazi-Girl is a psychotic violent nutcase.
>>
>>83946543
>>83964118

List was still too long for this post. One more coming.

Carla...
-mocks Billie for seeming to like the Maple Leafs
-skates loudly in the hall
-hops over Mary out of spite
-stomps in front of Mary's room
-tries to call Mary out for yelling in the hallway when she's clearly being noisier
-submits Mary's "proposition ... to the 'Don't Care' Committee for review. ... Looks like they don't care."
-follows Mary down the hallway for the express purpose of hopping loudly and disturbing her and everyone else on the floor (and probably the floor below them)
-claims that being trans means she can do whatever she wants
-emotionally manipulates Ruth by saying "You do whatever you want. I'm used to being everyone's acceptable losses."
-uses the "group prayer" as an excuse to ask God to kill Mary
-demands cookies from Billie for literally no reason other than selfishness
-scares Amber half to death by jumping over her, causing Amber to drop her laundry, which brings Sal (her mortal enemy) into the area to talk to her
-decides to keep the cookies when Ruth slams the door
-tries to cram a gross-looking cookie under the door for Ruth
-denies eating a bunch of the cookies that she was supposed to give to her
-refers to Ruth's room as a "murder cave"
-says "If I die in here, tell everyone that I hate them and I was always better than them"
-antagonizes Mary by invading her personal space and making it clear that she's doing something to her
-blocks Mary's room off with a huge contraption that has a bowling ball on it
-whistles (a song about war) aggressively at Mary
-asks Ruth for the cookies, despite Ruth having accepted them

(part 2)
>>
>>83964143
>>83964118
>>83946543

-displays possibly dangerous lasers in the hallway while jumping around like an idiot
-insults Mary and her religion
-flaunts her rich, powerful parents in Mary's face
-calls Mary a name
-decides for Mary exactly why Mary doesn't like her
-tells Mary she'll bill her for the pie, after spending all this time, effort, and money to antagonize her
-refers to Billie as a "stuck-up whinybaby"
-is only checking on Ruth so Billie won't annoy her
-decides she can literally do whatever she wants since Ruth didn't answer the door

As for Amazi-Girl being a psychotic violent nutcase, it is true, but it's also not cool to call people that.

I literally never said it's fine for her to go out and fight people. I think it's terrible too. I was answering a question of the things that Carla did that were mean, and that is one of them.

It has nothing to do with Carla being trans. She's just a mean character, and someone wanted to know if she was actually mean or not.

Really for the list to work, you'd have to chronicle every shitty thing a character did and divide it by their appearances in order to get a shit-per-spot ratio, then get the ratio for every character and determine if Carla's was higher than everyone else's. But no one would be THAT autistic, right?

>>
>>83951220
The problem with this comic is that willis seems to think he can write so even though there's no real plot, every character is involved with about 2 or 3 different subplots that come and go.

So shit like "oh yeah Danny is bisexual now," or "oh yeah Walky's grades are slipping" or "oh yeah Sarah is still in this comic." will come and go and you'll have to spend a minute trying to remember why it matters. I'm no expert but I don't think that's a sign of a good ensemble cast.
>>
>>83965852
i dont know why, but ive never had trouble remembering stuff that happens in this comic. i didnt think it was really an issue, i assumed most of the people that didnt know what was going on just didnt read it all

>>83965908
Back when I followed the comic I remember getting confused all the time because so much shit was going on. I never had to go back or anything but it always took me a minute to remember important details and that took me out of the story.

But it has been a while since I actually followed the comic so I may be full of shit.
>>
>>83965254
Okay, here we go. I went by the same definitions of "mean" that I used for Carla.

Meanness can include name-calling, rudeness, hatefulness, spite, and other things like that. While folks on 4chan have a different definition of what "mean" is, the rest of the world is pretty clear-cut on what qualifies. If it would hurt someone's feelings or property, it's probably mean. And by "someone," I don't necessarily mean the victim--if it could hurt someone's feelings on a general basis, it's probably mean.

The picture was, once again, too large to upload--not just for 4chan but also the site I used for the Carla picture.

Here it is: http://tinypic.com/r/12161hf/9

In these strips...

Mary...
-calls Billie a name
-is generally rude to Dorothy
-disagrees with avoiding ableist language
-calls Roz a "crazy socialist" in a way that sounds like an insult
-shows clear disgust toward Sierra
-tries to exclude others from a conversation about the church service (which she thought was pretty good, according to other strips)
-gets uppity with Dorothy about atheism/non-belief

(Part 1)
>>
>>83965254
>>83967139

-tells Joyce to avoid her friends/floormates
-calls the DeSantoses "monsters"
-squints at everyone with "judgy-eyes"
-hopes that Roz and Becky will "get pregnant and have to drop out"
-seems to be evilly plotting when she sees Billie sneaking out of Ruth's room
-glares at a 12-year-old for no apparent reason
-gets judgy and suspicious after a fake Billie/Ruth fight
-gets hoity-toity about being an example of Christ for the floor
-yells at Ruth about her capabilities as an RA
-calls Ruth stupid and begins to call her something that starts with a "c" (I would go for "cow," but it's probably not that)
-lies down in the hallway to spite Carla
-implies Billie is a bad person and judges her for it
-dishes some massive hate on homosexuality
-tries to force Ruth to lead a group prayer
-insults varieties of Christianity that aren't "real"
-is mega-smug about blackmailing Ruthless and Carla into silence
-threatens Ruth with reports to the residence manager
-questions Carla's status as a female
-insults Robin
-insults Roz's sex-toy collection
-continues to be smug about her religion
-refers to Carla as a "misplaced freak"
-intentionally squirts heavy-duty glue onto Carla's new skates
-insults Carla's Rube Goldberg machine
-is mega-suspicious of Robin
-holds Ruth's alcoholism and job over her head
-yanks a box (that was clearly a gift of some sort) out of Carla's hands (Bonus points for saying that Carla was "standing behind" a box she was holding)
-is happy that Carla's skates were ruined
-yells at Carla on multiple occasions

A lot of repeat offenses were only listed once, but each one is shown in the picture.

Also, the alt-text of one of the strips (the last one in the pic) says "Mary studies in the dark, like a vampire," so it's confirmed that she was indeed studying.

Final strip count: 30

>>83967139

glad you did a pretty good job of holding them to the same standards, i assumed you wouldnt

now we need someone to divide these by both of their number of speaking appearances. i know marys appeared way less often than carla, but i dont know the numbers.
>>
>>83967263
Thanks. :)

Mary appears 63 times but doesn't speak much until later. She's largely been a background character until recently.

http://www.dumbingofage.com/tag/mary/

And Carla has appeared in 60 strips.

http://www.dumbingofage.com/tag/carla/

I'm not going to go count which ones they don't speak in; someone else can do that.

That aside...
Mary is mean in 30 of her 63 appearances, which puts 47.6% of her appearances as negative ones.

Carla is mean in 26 of her 60 appearances, which puts 43.3% of her appearances as negative ones.

If anyone wants to do that math with speaking appearances, they are welcome to do so.

Speaking of the Walky's grades are slipping thing, it's been like a month since they started. What the hell kinda class has such a huge difficulty spike that made him go from effortlessly breezing through a high school AP class to flunking in a 100-level paper? Even though I was a lazy ass C-student, 100 levels were not that hard. The jump from high school to college isn't that high. The real big jump is when you go from 100 to 200 level. It's especially grating since Walky was doing great for the first couple of weeks.
>>
>>83968968
the first couple weeks mightve been partially review, or at least covered things hed already learned. though yeah, the difficulty spike itself probably shouldnt be that high.

theres also the fact that he doesnt take notes and draws dinosaurs or whatever in class. maybe he used to pay more attention in high school but got bored with it because he assumed itd always be easy

Mary speaks in 39 strips out of 63.
Carla speaks in 51 strips out of 60.

>>83969547
I doubt the site will ever stop being crappy, unless you find a way to strip the site of damn near everything before it even loads. Out of 26 strips with Malaya...

Malaya is a largely neutral character. She's a bit cranky, but a lot of her actions are mixed between aggressive and caring. Plus, she doesn't appear in that many strips, so here's it all together. I'll signify good stuff with + and bad with -. And honestly, she's better when she's being silent. She skates with Marcie and stuff like that.

Malaya...
-insults and assaults Amazi-Girl (who is trying to break up their drinking)
-doesn't want to go to class
+is interested in Marcie and her life
-insults Sal (a lot)
-threatens to beat Sal up
-insults Carla, who's trying to help her
-tells Sal she doesn't care (with sign language, which you wouldn't know if not for strip titles and its singular other appearance)
+is learning sign language
-assaults Sal

Why does a campus have a church
Why does a campus have MULTIPLE churches
>>
>>83974749
I have NO clue. My campus built a mausoleum, and we have a few Christian groups on campus, but they have little buildings, not an actual church.

I'm hoping by "campus," they just mean the surrounding area.

But if there are that many churches on campus, there's no reason for Becky to have gone elsewhere. It would have been a great environment for her.

Here's today's, as a reminder.

I know her floormates are being immature, but frankly, Carla deserves it after her own immaturity.

Poll: which DoA character do you hate the most?

I think mine is Ruth because of how incredibly terrible she is. I cannot think of a single redeeming factor for her.
>>
>>83976884
ruth is absolutely the worst
ambers getting there too lately, shes pretty fucked up.
>>
>>83976884
Ruth for sure. The weirdest part is how some commenters see her and Billie's shit as tragic, star-crossed romance.
>>
>>83976884
i loathe walky. he's weebie wish fulfillment from top to bottom and all of his contribution to the comic is insipid and pointless
>>
>>83974651
>+allows Malaya to cuddle her
Not to discredit the entire list based on a single entry or anything, but I think you meant to use a different name here.

Unless Malaya is actually supposed to be cuddling herself. That's kind of nice, I guess. I wouldn't have cuddled with myself, given the opportunity.
>>
>>83976884
Ruth. She's downright despicable.
I'm bi and I'd feel unsafe around her.
>>
>>83976884
I see the hate for Ruth, but for me it's Carla.

I understand being depressed and mean-spirited, and also power tripping. Carla, though, has almost a sociopath-like attitude, and treats checking in on a suicidal person as a nuisance.

Unlike the other incidental assholes in this strip, Willis has stated that being an asshole is her defining character trait, and we've seen no other perspectives from her. She's not cute, she's not charming. She's just 1-dimensional, if "dickwad" is a dimension.

any hope for a patreanon?

God love you, Patreanon.
>>
>>83978835
That last sentence looks off
>>
>>83978903
It should have a question mark.
>>
>>83945065
Once she opens her door, the OJ is gonna spill over. That's a dick move.
>>
>>83978903
Yeah, I don't know if it counts as a double negative but it's certainly a weird sentence to read.
>Did you not eat those cookies just to hurt me?
or
>You didn't eat the cookies. You did that just to hurt me, didn't you?
would sound a lot more normal.
>>
>>83977752
I would cross the street to avoid the entire cast of this comic but Carla wins in the annoying stakes for me.
That constant unrelenting demand for attention is by far the most agrrivating personality trait I've ever encountered.
If Carla doesn't learn to moderate her behaviour she would be lucky to avoid physical violence by the end of the term.
>>
>>83974749
...It's not that uncommon to have a small christian worship center that performs services just off of campus near state universities, anon. They're small, discrete little buildings, though, and they're far from "churches".
>>
>>83978903
>"You didn't eat those cookies just to hurt me, did you?"
>>
>>83978988
>>83979372
nah, it's a rhetorical question instead of an open one.

DOA apparently takes place at Indiana University Bloomington, so if someone could post a map or something, we could actually have a layout of the comic

And Google's smart enough that you can also search for churches near the university: https://www.google.com/maps/search/churches+near+Indiana+University,+Bloomington,+IN/@39.1699852,-86.5202003,15z/data=!3m1!4b1

Cute.
>>
>>83980159
Now THAT'S funny.
>>
>>83978835
She's so depressed, her eyes stopped being green.
>>
>>83978835
So Ruth is now in a deep depression because she can't punch her girlfriend regularly?

Good.
>>
>>83981000
She didn't really hit her after they got together, it was mostly (arguably playful) verbal abuse and play fighting to cover-up why Billie was in her room.

And hard fuckin'.
>>
>>83981149
I'll admit hyperbole in my earlier statement, but their relationship is/was still unhealthy.
>>
>>83978835

I swear to god, Willis is slipping into Buckley levels of copy/paste art

>>83980159

gonna post this on the edits tumblr, do you want a name to be credited by or can I just post it as something from /co/?
>>
>>83977291
Haha, yes, thank you. I was mega-tired. It was supposed to be that she allows Marcie to cuddle her.
>>
>>83981869
Just as something from /co/, that would be fine.
>>
>>83981946

Done. Really like how you made each character a different height, it's a little thing that you'd think Willis wouldn't be so lazy as to avoid.
>>
>>83981869
I think I've figure out Willis' process for the art for his strips. He sketches them out first, obviously, and from there he uses a 3D modelling program to make the interiors and work on the final angles for the strip.

He pencils/inks the strips digitally; it's here where the copy-paste comes into play. If you look closely in some strips, it's the coloring that's unique across different panels.
At least, most of the time it's unique. Here I've noticed that he seems to be copy-pasting the colors as well. Maybe it's the flats that he copies and pastes.

Anyways, after coloring, he shades it all in, and then he queues it up for release in three months from now.

That's rachel, the fatty with the blue eyes was other rachel.

The title of this comic will be called "The magic of plot armor" to complete the punchline.
