Just picked up the first 5 issue trade of Kamala's Ms. Marvel, I was expecting a terrible sjw-pandering meme character, but I actually ended up liking her.
Just bought the second trade (issues 6-11), is there a bad arc/writer I should dip out of the series to avoid any time soon, or the opposite with her in another series that's even better?

Kamala is extremely likable because she is flawed and makes mistakes. What makes her endearing is that she is learning and she is getting better.
Ms. Marvel is somehow simultaneously the justification for the current wave of sjw-bait at Marvel, and an ongoing argument for why all of those titles are awful.

You've stumbled onto the worst-kept secret of /co/ - a solid 90+% of the people bitching about Kamala have only read as far as one out-of-context cropped meme quote panel from a random SJW hate thread.
It's a genuinely fun book, not without its missteps here and there, but far better than the average cape ongoing from the past few years.

I've seen a lot of anti-SJWs mention Kamala as the right way to do Diversity. Which she pretty much is.
It helps that she's a fan of the established characters and doesn't go around trying to prove she's better than they are. That's the #1 mistake that is usually made with new characters. Like Jane Foster Thor being a better Thor than real Thor and beating up people in the name of feminism. Kamala isn't really a target for Mary Sue accusations.
I've wanted a superhero like Kamala for ages. A Marvel-style version of a magical girl.
Which means Marvel will find some way to kill her off in a crossover.
