Why would you even buy an action-rpg, or any rpg, if you loathe story? All the marketing revolves around how story driven the genre is.
This is why I'll never consider the gameplay of Kingdom Hearts to be good. I have to skip cutscenes left and right just to not kill myself from the atrocious writing and terrible voice acting, and it just keeps going on and on. There isn't a 10 minute stretch of gameplay that happens at any point in the series without convoluted plot being shoved down your throat.

You've got the gist right, but you're missing a bit of info. Nobodies are created when someone with a strong heart loses it to darkness. Since Princesses of Heart, such as Kairi, possess no darkness whatsoever, it's impossible for them to make a Nobody.
Enter Sora. Remember when he released his heart to darkness with Riku's Keyblade in order to return Kairi's heart to her body? Because her heart left a body whose heart had succumbed to darkness, it allowed for her to cheat the system and create her own Nobody.

If we accepted that Nobodies work like that, our new ruleset would still contradict itself, as there were three hearts in Sora, and so there should have been three Nobodies, with Ventus getting his own (he's surely strong enough of heart). Sora was hosting two other hearts, but they were in different conditions. Kairi's escaped her body and entered him for protection, while Ventus' was severely damaged and linked with Sora' to survive and heal while the latter was very young. This was even symbolized in the Dive to the Heart, with Ventus' platform being broken into a crescent and fusing with Sora's to fill the gap. It's possible that they're more deeply "connected", and only spawned one Nobody as a result.
Or, this just occurred to me now, but what if Sora's body did split three ways. We see a Ventus Nobody and a Kairi Nobody, but no Sora Nobody... but remember what happened right after Sora became a Heartless. He found Kairi, was rescued from darkness, and got his body back. What if his own heart didn't form a third Nobody because that part of his body is still with it, and didn't have time to become independent?

Assuming Roxas did in fact have Ventus' heart, maybe it wasn't? Advanced Nobodies look exactly like regular people unless they use their special powers, and I don't think Roxas actually did anything that only a Nobody could do.
However, I don't think that's the case. In Dream Drop Distance, there's been some emphasis on the idea that Roxas is his own independent existence separate from both Sora and Ventus; I think that rather than being "born" with another's heart, Roxas gained one of his ownsince Nobodies can naturally regrow hearts.

Returning to areas with your new companion or events triggered to progress more. Some worlds only have like 5 areas in them but they made you move back and forth between them a lot.

I still don't get how they could screw Kingdom Hearts II up like that. Everything in Chain of Memories offers itself up to be filler. They recycle worlds, none of the characters they meet actually exist, the new character Namine is just a copy of Kairi and in the end all the main characters lose their memories anyway.
KH2 easily could have started with Sora and his friend on their way, picking up where KH1 left off, and nobody would have minded. Instead they made this big mystery out of "how the fuck did we wake up here?" and then never proceed to actually answering it. Same with all the plot threads. Sora only knows that he wants to thank Namine for some reason. Does he ever try to find her? nope. Does he exchange a single word with her in the game? neither.
DiZ was apparently responsible for tons of stuff that went on in the series but it has absolutely no meaning because he never meets the main characters. It's so frustrating.

No. Alice was captured by the Queen of Hearts for supposedly being the one to try and steal her heart, put in a cage while Sora, Donald, and Goofy looked for evidence that it was a heartless, and after fighting the cards they all discovered Alice was stolen away by Maleficent's gang.
No credits scene for Wonderland, just a shot of Alice with the other Princesses curtsying (besides Kairi who's on Destiny Islands and Jasmine reuniting with Aladdin).
