That's what I meant. It's probably gonna be left ambiguous as to whether he was a Marx or not.

Wait a second... did he just pull a lit cigar out of nowhere?
>>
>>83924883
No, he pulled it from a universe where there was a lit cigar in that area
>>
>>83924801
I would hate Marx SO much less if he always saved people in more mundane ways like this instead of making his bullshit powers super obvious.
Although this does make me reconsider that theory that this fox is actually Clive before he has his brain harvested and wiped to be used in a transporter.
I'd love to see an image of Clive-Fox's empty husk in the de-braining machine just after his cranial relief operation.
>>
>>83924801
Just caught up on endtown after not reading it for the last several months.

Came here to say fuck Marx. Even when he's a fox. Worst character.
>>
>>83925274
Don't believe that he's Marx, myself. Maybe he's Clive.
Also hot damn, I realized why he's lighting up that cigar. Thermal signature + fox musk = premium Topsider bait.

he just pulled it out of his coat

Do you even have any more DOUBTS at this point? Greater Good talk? That's repeated ten times at the end of Flask Arc. And then we have exhibit A.

I rest my case.

BTW CARPGAnon can you tell me again what you want drawn + provide descriptions? Debbie, Velma and I forgot the last part.
>>
>>83924801
It's not even ambiguous that it's Marx, what are you people smoking.

He clearly knows the future, his design is based on human Marx
>>
I just started to like him, too. Only one with some semblance of sense.
>>
>>83925533

I mean I don't really want to put it against Aaron for reusing him (Cause actually it makes sense - it's different dimensions with their own Wallies, Hollies, Kirbees, Flasks and Marxes). But really this is probably that one incarnation of Marx that people can feel sympathy towards as he's not some OP as fuck "Ha ha ha life is a game" person but actually behaving like a real human being.
>>
>>83925457
Debbie is a Cocker Spaniel, y'know the ones with the floppy ears. She's about human sized, has short, curly hair that matches her fur, and wears scavenged SFPD armor
Franklin's the mousey dude, about Holly sized. Not sure what outfit he's going to wear, but it'll be different than last session, which was what was left of his Murk outfit
Velma is about three feet and still wears her hazmat suit, but with the sleeves rolled up enough to keep her from tripping over it. Her hair's up in a ponytail, and she still wears the olive green cloak that signifies her as a Captain.
You know the "that's kinda hot" comic? That's what I based her look off of

>>
>>83925083
Didn't Aaron already confirm brain harvesting and plasticizing was a post-war Topsider development? All they're concerned with at the moment is wiping them out.
>>
>>83928666

No. He has confirmed in an e-mail that it was done by Apex subcontractors. Zero-guns were post-war. Ever wondered why Robbie was so similar to a Mutt?
>>
>>83928535
More like Aaron went "Oh, you dislike my self insert so much? Well, here's an alternate universe version of him that's likeable, more handsome and not a marty stu. Now watch him die horribly" while cackling madly at a blank canvas.

>>83928530
Yeah, Clive's brain alone was almost as big as Holly. This fox's head is no bigger than Holly's or the doc's.
>>
>>83925274
>Came here to say fuck Marx. Even when he's a fox. Worst character.
Seriously? These four or so stripes have made me like this character a lot. Outside of a few weird lines he's nothing like Marx, personality wise.

The fact this fox is not carefree or waltzing around laughing at the rules of the universe on its face says a lot. Makes him look and feel like another miserable and likeable mutant like many others we've already meet. Especially since we're now even going to see him die, just like the rest.
>>
>>83928530

I think Clive was a typhoid Mary like Petey was.
>>
>>83928738
Robbie didn't have brain matter in him though. By the same email, prewar it was only experimental technology used in zero weapons, only later did topsiders use harvested brains for processors.

I agree with the rest who've mentioned it: that cigar came out of nowhere, it makes him unambigously Marx. The dialogue has dropped too many hints already but that confirms it.
>>
>>83932172
>Walt, Mallard, Jacob, Chase, Angus and the commander of the rats?
Seeing how Endtown is about to get into a full blown civil war, at least two of them are guaranteed to die in an upcoming arc.

So what that anon said is not too far from the truth.
>>
>>83932208
No only that, the cigar was already lit when he pulled out of his coat, what kind of person has a lit cigar in his coat? Also, of all the characters we have seen so far, guess who is the only one that also smokes that type of cigar.

Actually, I think we've seen more of those. At least Jacob had one. Then again, he knew Marx by then.

Technically, "normal" Marx is a hero because he's saved many lives. The problem is that he also seems to ruin some.
>>

Could be Mallard as a human, involved in the Pep Park stuff, or a reveal that the Rats had already been in existence in Endtown as its caretakers long before people started mutating.
>>
>>83928540

>>83935968
I said that it will be something about the virus, there's must be scientists in the stadium analyzing the mutants
>>
>>83936132
Possibly confirmation that it appears to have no actual physical component.
>>
>>83936211
That would put a new question in the table: how it transmits if it doesn't have any physical component? unless my assumptions were right and everything is in the head of the infected
>>
>>83936359
Well, we've had different possibilities thrown around:

>It's a side effect of low-level background Amesworth radiation, going with the idea that Amesworth works by degrading an entity's morphic field (the thing that tells it what shape it should be, connected to its sense of self). This would mean the "virus" could be exacerbated by mental uncertainty or whatever, and mutants are the result of human fields grabbing morphic scraps from lesser animals in an attempt at self repair. It's omnipresent in the modern era because of the bombs painting the entire environment with low-level radiation. This doesn't quite explain why mutation is near-instant now, though, or why mutants don't keep mutating (maybe a patchwork fields are more stable?).

>The "virus" is in fact some supernatural entity, possibly even particles of "Eye", that feeds off stress and anguish and by the modern era has fed sufficiently (gorging itself on the global horror in the final minutes of WWIII) to be omnipresent and strong enough to mutate people near-instantly. Ethereal, but not capable of passing through nonliving materials, so everyone that's been in a biosuit since before it was everywhere is still infection-free.
>>
>>83936901
If that's the case, then wouldn't that mean that the reason Typhoids haven't mutated is because they're not stressed/doubtful?
Because if so, then Al must be a really fucking level-headed guy
>>
>>83937070
>then Al must be a really fucking level-headed guy
And also the strongest character in the comic
>>
>>83937070
I think it's "strong sense of self" for the Amesworth idea, "lower stress responses" for the supernatural idea.

Honestly the true cause will probably be something that comes totally out of left field. Like, Marx dropped a bunch of badly-programmed Lucranian nanobots or something.
>>
>>83937205
It would be really funny that the mutations wasn't neither Marx or Eye fault and instead was just a thing that happen for the sake of happening.
>>
>>83937414
Someone theorised that Eye was a damaged, insane Mother Nature before. It looks like it's actually something related to the end of Albert, but what if it's still something like that causing the mutations? There could be three super-powerful entities involved here. One that caused the war, one that took advantage of it afterwards, and one who just meddles for the sake of playing a giant game of The Sims.
>>
>>83937165
Not really but he's incredibly strong for a guy his size.
>>
>>83937758
I dunno, I kinda doubt that
>>
>>83937758
>It looks like it's actually something related to the end of Albert
That seems to be the case, Marx mention the existence of a mascot (Ted) that can see through people soul and who also results to be an eyeball. Other thing that I wonder is what happen to his girlfriend, given that in Endtown we find Al and Gustine again one can assume that all the persons that died in the Albert universe resurrected in the Endtown one, but his girlfriend in nowhere to be find. It's weird that Marx didn't tried to enter in contac with her again since he really seemed to love her, it could a relation with the fact that she was right in front of the button that activated the plugs for the free energy that later was the cause of the destruction of the universe.
>>
>>83941159

What if she resurrected as Flask
>>
>>83942254
Possible, but Flask's own rebirth seems to imply that people keep their appearances between lives.

(It must have been really confusing for her parents in that universe when they gave birth to a cat.)

>>
>>83943628
>Him besides female Marx are the only supportable Marxes and I'm being merciful including female Marx.
We know nothing about Female Marx beyond her being capable or riding a horse.

But you're right, this fox assuming is a Marx is probably the only likeable one.
>>
>>83943628
>a smug cunt as flying ship Marx, an edgelord as Endtown Marx

So we're going with the idea that those were two separate Marxes? Because I was kind of thinking that Milk-trial Marx was a result of Opabinia Marx absorbing Flask's bad side and becoming even worse.
>>
Is there an origin to Marx in any of Aaron's other comics or has he just always been a really bad version of Doctor Who?
>>
>>83943745
You'd probably have to go right back to the Aaron Marx comic Aaron wrote in middle school, which is where Kid Marx comes from, I believe. Someone said "Albert" had him dreamed up by the little psychic kid, but I couldn't bear the comic or the website's interface long enough to find out.
>>
>>83943674
The real question here is would you with female Marx?

>>83943729
Given that his personality change drastically between the missil crisis and the milk trial, even if he's in fact the same Marx it still can be considered as a different Marx from the Opabinia one.

Aaron Marx works if you're doing a gag-a-day kind of strip because it's a broad enough concept for you to have plenty of material, but it isn't serious enough for you to have to think too hard about your situations or jokes. Putting him in Endtown is such a serious moodswing that I'm not sure why Aaron ever though it'd be a good idea, much less a goo, recurring idea.

Kind of like some of the classic companions of the Doctor, come to think of it.

Also there's another thing that looks like it's been "borrowed" from the Doctor - I'm pretty sure it's canon that the Fourth Doctor's coat had something multidimensional going on, too.

But he is still spindly, annoying Doctor Who ripoff, only that this time he's more bearable because it's a different version of him. And lets be honest here both him and kid Marx are attempts to make people like him, a little late for that don't you think?

>>83946201
His deviantart page says that he's a professional animator. That's why I want to know in what he worked.

>Aaron made a mistake for choosing it, but someone made it and deserves corporal punishment for that.

Looks like it's hand-lettered to me.

that reminds me, Doctor Who was almost a cartoon series in the 90s
>>
>>83946423
Doctor Who as a series is only 12 years older than Aaron. He's 41. Let that sink in.

>>83946415
Looking at the Rs, it has to be. The early 2000s were a hell I'd like to forget, I guess.

But fox Marx is the only Marx I have feelings for
the good feelings, that give you a tingly sensation in your heart

>Clive
You mean Petey
>and then Flask got her early start here
Not really, Penelope Puma is actually the character of another comic that Aaron has called "The Daily Grind" in which as mere curiosity Jacob Jackrabbit stars.
>I guess the 2nd duck got lost to the ages
Are you sure? You never know...

huh he reminds me of the guy that does String Theory. he is like 45

was an artist become the comic but I guess it took him a long time to actually create the comic.

It looks like a cross between Doctor Snuggles and Robostory.

Maybe if enough people send in fanmail, Aaron will give Farx the Kirbee treatment. Obviously he'd have to appear to die off-screen, but he could always turn up alive later...
>>
>>83947143
Here's a little problem, Farx is not exactly a character that everyone want to see again...
>>
>>83947394
You could probably have said the same thing about Kirbee.

What ever DID happen to the deputy security chief? Last we saw he and those other rats got hypnotized
>>
>>83947851
Maybe once that we return to Endtown we will know, I say that the effect was temporal but still the rats are fucked after all the shit that happen the last time that they appeared.
>>
>>83946423

And with the NuWho era as well. A dr who cartoon is always being toyed with.

Hey, look, it's Marx's dad.
>>
>>83947879

Pretty much. The dynamic as it's been hinted at is that rats can't enter endtown and they are liable to shot the first moron to come up the elevator.

I imagine with this greater good bullshit they are probably going to cowtail to Jackrabbit as he will be the closest thing to a government entity in Endtown now.

I don't know, Jim did kill a bunch of people for selfish reasons. Then again, part of the reason he Schism'd is the guilt he felt over it, having done it only for Sarah.

The same could be said for a lot of Endtown characters
