I really want to talk about "The Best of What's Left" and its bizzare art style, and its inexplicably long run, despite any real quality or fan community... But all trace of it's gone as far as I can tell.
It sucks, i always wanted to do a Story Time of Pain of it. It probably would have been as fun as dumping Jenffer's Show.
Anyone know of a webcomic with this mechanic named Sam? She rebuilds or fixes this robot that makes portals to other places. Read this webcomic sometime in 2008.

Xamag is still around but yeah she abandoned this because it was too much as a first webcomic. Understandable, though.
I know it isn't the best comic in the world but it had some interesting points and it was good considering the time it was made. I can understand that the author might not want to work on it anymore and have better things to work on but the comic had many fans and he could give them the minimum of consideration by giving people what was the original plan and or allowing someone else to finish it instead of just give everybody the finger.

Apparently the author is currently working on the next big end of chapter animation, which ought to be pretty imposing considering where the story is right now.

if it's the furry comic he's talking about, Hopkins was accused of raping a fan or something and when on hiatus. IIRC it turned out the fan made it all up and was known for being super crazy even by furry standards but since Hopkins is a known creepy motherfucker people believed her instead of actually looking in to her weak story.

To expand, so Hopkins has lawyer'd up, and his lawyer said "You know, it's gonna be a bit hard to fight for you in court if you are currently running a comic that features all that rape." So Hopkins put it on hiatus until legal issue gets resolved, could be years.
And he wasn't accused of actual rape, he was accused of jerking off while listening to someone talk about their rape experience over the phone. Should be something easily shrugged off, but Hopkins suffers from low self esteem, so he believes he deserves to get attacked, hence the current situation.
