The better Green Arrow stories in comics have had crime lords, spies/assassins, smugglers, and even the odd corrupt politician as the main antagonists.
The problem the show has is the writers just aren't up to the task of writing a modern take of Robin Hood crossed with an espionage/crime drama series.
After reading the Grell run that was being story timed the past couple of weeks here, I actually got sad thinking about the show version of the characters.
For example comic Fyres was fucking enjoyable to read because of his banter with Oliver. He was an assassin for hire who worked for the CIA and any other agency that could hire him, but he wasn't a lunatic he was professional. Hell sometimes Fyres and Oliver have to team up because some loose end from the end of the Cold War has to be dealt with or the Government decided to screw them both over for some "greater" reason.
Show Fyres was just a generic merc commander that was only in the flashbacks in season 1.
And that's just Fyres, forget about what they did to Shado, Merlyn, Vertigo (twice), etc.
I swear the show writers just took a list of GA characters with a brief description of them and just used the names to make up their own characters instead. I get its an adaptation and things will be different because show biz, but its just sad how far off the mark they went only to suck.

I'm not saying that character is aping laurel because in the comics Dinah was never a lawyer but they went on record saying they had "no more stories" to tell with laurel and that why they decided to kill her off but apparently they do because they're IMMEDIATELY replacing with a rule 63 version of her character. We all knew the only reason they killed Laurel was to not endanger Olicity but they're not even being subtle about it.

Hey, so the only one of these series I watch is Flash, and of course the crossovers featuring him, and I finally got around to watch this. Holy shit it was fucking awful!! What stupid dialogue and crappy acting, Who wrote that shit? Is that Supergirl series always that retarded?
Also, I miss Cap. Cold so I was thinking about giving LoT a chance, is it any good?

I agree with you, the crossover was shit, itbarely featured any teamwork between Flash and Supergirl, and they focused on resolving a plot-point from a previous episode that could very much been delayed for another regular episode.
Apart from that, I enjoy Supergirl, I can get past Jamal Olsen (although his scenes bore me) and the shitty effects, but still some Supergirl stuff is cool. I loved Bizarro and Black Mercy, for example.

Tbh the crossover was one of the better Supergirl episodes, if only because Barry and Kara have good chemistry. The first few episodes are unwatchably bad, then they get better but are still only mediocre.

Captain Cold, Heatwave, and White Canary are the only good parts of LoT, along with the cameo by Jonah Hex. Everyone else is a dumb asshole, and Hawkgirl gets the barista blue ribbon of dumb assholes. As stated above in the thread, Ray Palmer gets to see his dead wife thanks to time travel but completely ignores her to try and get with Hawkgirl some more.
