None of Nolan's shit makes sense when you think about it. It's all some weird sort of edgy/realistic type of writing.
I mean, if you ignored that it was Batman, sure, the films would be amazing. But adaption wise? It's a goddamn travesty. Much, MUCH worse than The Batman could ever be.
