I used to babysit two kids that were pretty much the Flanders kids. Growing up there was this guy in my class whose parents were not only very religious, but also weird as fuck about it. I mean they were super nice people, but there was clearly something wrong with that whole family. I went to a Catholic school but even there they stood out by miles. These people had literally taught their kids that God had a plan for them that made them better than everyone else, and had blessed them so they would never die. They didn't have a TV or radio and barely even got out of the house except to go to church or to take music lessons (which was the only hobby they were allowed to have).Shit got fucking brutal when first his younger sister got inoperable brain cancer and a couple years later the mother killed herself, but by then I had already lost contact with him so I don't know how he ended up.
