You should do a strawpoll or something. The new format I personally think is really ugly as opposed to the look and convenience of the old one.

Either way all you really should have changed is the color. The old format was much better too.

cAnon, we all greatly appreciate the work that you do.
>>
>>83867057
I didn't change much though. I removed the FAQ at the bottom because they weren't really common questions anymore. And I removed the cluttered info around the comics (with the intention of putting anything important in the separate comics Guide im fixing up)

Aside from that, as far as I remember, I didn't change anything else.

I'm always open for improvements and criticism of course, so if there's specific stuff you want changed, or put back, I can always consider it.

As for the background, I had a black background for months, I only changed it because I had numerous suggestions about it. I personally think that it's much easier on the eyes now, albeit a bit plain looking.

That's actually something I was thinking about myself. I didn't mean to make it inconvenient, was just trying to make it less cluttered. I'll see what I can do tomorrow.

You /could/ throw a texture at a 30-40% opacity in there if you're really itching to let your inner graphic designer out, but don't worry. I think the guides are fine and much easier on the eyes now.

For what reason?

Well, it makes sense. Becoming a force ghost requires a relinquishing of material/mortal attachment. That's something that is not within the nature of a Sith to be able to perform. It's impossible.
>>

To disassociate the canon from KOTOT or whatever game it's from.

Not a redesign, just an updated model to show he's grown. They said literally everyone of the Ghost crew, except for Chopper, is getting an updated model for season 3.

Theory: the reason the Empire was still using 'fancy' vehicles like V-Wings by 5 years after Ep3 but just 10 years later in Rebels they've completely changed to shitty TIE-Fighters is because 14 BBY was the year the skeleton for the Death Star was completed but after that point the Empire used all its armor resources for the armor of the Death Star instead of its vehicles.

This might actually be kind of interesting from a political perspective as well since I bet Seinar was pissed that they didn't have enough resources to produce more expensive vehicles and there may have been a few months where they proposed halting production of Imperial vehicles but through 'negotiations' (assassinations and lobbying) Seinar decided to officially become a government owned company centralizing the production of vehicles. This would probably mean that the mining guilds were centralized at least 5 years after Ep3 and I bet the excuse then was that the Empire needed complete control of the galaxy's mines so that they could properly rebuild the infrastructure of some planets after the Clone Wars.
>>
>>83875779
I like Korriban better because it sounds sinister without actually evoking a specific word
Moraband is practically a homophone for "moribund".

>>
>>83875933

>>
>>83875854
Adding further to this I recall Tarkin watching his base receive new TIE-Fighters to replace the Clone Wars era vehicles at the end of Tarkin when the Death Star's skeleton was finished.
>>
>>83875854
>I bet the excuse then was that the Empire needed complete control of the galaxy's mines so that they could properly rebuild the infrastructure of some planets after the Clone Wars.

I thought it was for production of Star Destroyers. Around 8 years after the clone wars, the Free Ryloth Movement's destroying Vader's Star Destroyer (forgot the name) was kinda a big deal. It woukd seem after the events on Gorse that production went up considerably. By the time of ANH, there were probably hundreds of them.

You're probably both right. George named Vader after the dutch "Father" and when coming up with the Sith mythology years later he realized Vader = (in)Vader and used similar name conventions for the Sith as a whole.

I'm very, very confident Lucas just named him (in)Vader, and the father translation was a coincidence.

I don't believe he planned for Vader to be Luke's father from the beginning. Lucas was pretty open about making stuff up as he went along. Sometimes getting brilliant results, and sometimes, not.

Supposed to be a running gag. Fetts get fucked because of malfunctioning jetpacks. Kinda wished they kept the version where Jango actually dodges some swings before the beheading.
>>
>>83882654
Incidentally, the sparks on his jetpack and the failed puffs of exhaust were added for the DVD, specifically because Lucas had been asked why Jango didn't fly away. It was an easy fix, now it's clear the reek trampling him fucked with his jetpack.
>>

Not really. I have AOTC on video and the exhaust fumes are there. It was apparent from the git-go that the Reek fucked-up the jetpack.

>>
>>83882834
Other than the KotOR comics and TotJ comics, not a very good list of stuff.

KotOR and KotOR 2 were certainly fun, but they don't really match up with the era they try to be from.

Jango is better without being a Mandalorian.

the Republic Commando books were shit except for the first one, which was decent-ish

The Bane books got worse with each installment and were overall just "meh"
>>
>>83882933

It's sorta nebulous. The one dude in canon who said it was a gifted liar and had a vested interest in saying Jango wasn't one.

But Filoni I think has been pretty clear he isn't.

I don't prefer it. I like Mandalorians. I thought Traviss did like 85% an awesome job building their culture/history/etc. the other 15% was power wank and jedi hate that she took too far in her writing.
>>
>>83882990

Opinions anon. It's just opinions.

I get the Commando books and Mando stuff was very divisive.

Also, Jango not being Mandalorian doesn't make him a better character, it makes him a non-character since there's nothing with him in it outside the movie.

>Why isn't Jango a Mandalorian

Because the LSG decided he isn't. And also because in the old canon, alot of his story revolved on him being the last of them. In TCW, Mandalore and it's people still exist.

> and why do people prefer it that way?
Because it means he's a badass all on his own instead of being so by association to some warrior culture.

>>83882903
>I loved the Open Seasons comic.

>>
>>83883077
>Also, Jango not being Mandalorian doesn't make him a better character, it makes him a non-character since there's nothing with him in it outside the movie.

He's known as one of the best bounty hunters of his time. Template for the Grand Army of the Republic. Good enough honestly, because the mando stuff involving him generally got worse and worse.

There's really only three things I actually like that has any mention of Jango or Boba having Mando ties:

the Boba Fett kids book series
Open Seasons
SW Bounty Hunter

But honestly, outside of those, it's either nonexistant or shitty. Or Traviss, who is on her own level or retarded.
>>
>>83882830
Fine, "added for the home release." Are you happy? Point is, it wasn't in the theatrical version.
>>
>>83882933
Remember, everything in the old EU was blanketly decanonized and has to recanonized piecemeal. He could still technically be Mandolorean but as of right now, the only canon mention of Jango and Mandolorean in a sentence is someone saying he *isn't* one.
>>
>>83883236
Actually, it's been outright confirmed he isn't one, and reference books call him a bounty hunter who wears Mandalorian armor.
>>
>>83883191

I still maintain that if Traviss had been left in her own corner and never brought into the main books things wouldn't have gotten as bad as they did.

She should never been used on the main books. Just let her write Commando books and maybe a solo Boba book people could have ignored if they wanted to.

Also, having re-read all of stuff in the last year knowing what people's criticisms are I could see the parts where she went overboard. But I believe overall it wasn't as bad as people said it was.

It works as a popcorn movie, specifically because really the only thing stopping it from being SYFY PRESENTS ULTRADINO REX PREMIERING THIS SATURDAY is the budget.

That's both a blessing and a curse. Jurassic Park wasn't super-high-brow, but it at least treated its premise with some level of curiosity and treated it like actual science fiction, where the implications and ethical concerns of the technology are raised and become a central part of the movie's theme. Even Lost World had some semblance of exploring the implications by having Hammond decide that since he made the dinosaurs he needs to take responsibility for them. JW just kind of boils it down to "we made a super-dino to drum up attendance and secretly use for the military, oh no it's out of control" and that's about it.

But taken on its own as a mindless movie about dinosaur rampages, it works.

He's not the sole person in charge of canon. Plus, the Fetts not being Mandalorian was something that came directly from Lucas, and even if he's not in charge anymore LSG tends to regard anything he set in place before his retirement as concrete.

Don't know.

I think that's the point. Initially, it was Lucas just wanting to do what he wanted instead of being weighted down by all this lore that he really didn't give a shit about. He wanted creative freedom.

Nowadays, while I think they continue to do it in the spirit of what George intended, I also think they do it to shit on Boba and all the fanwankery the old EU did for him.

Which is totally fine with me. He didn't really do anything cool in the OT. The only point of interest for me was his armor. Until Jango came along. He had a cooler design and actually did some neat shit.

This is one of the things that bugged me about his return in the EU. They didn't really do anything new with him afterward, it was just "welp I'm back." They did write some good stuff with Dengar helping him right afterward but beyond that, it was as if the Sarlacc had never happened. He was just back and doing his usual schtick. It was obvious they only brought him back because of popularity rather than because they had any actual story to tell with him.

>Empire silly evil
They blow up a planet in ANH. The Galactic Civil War didn't even officially start and they were destroying planets with allegiance to resistance fighters. It would be like dropping Tsar bombs on Iraq to destroy ISIS. There would be no true justification for action and would only make the resistance worse. The Empire is comic book evil and it always was. It's been stated many times Sidious is the incarnation of Lucifier in Star Wars. He created the empire. It cant possible be good or even grey.
