several journalists are currently doing a set visit of Justice League in London and now it seems we are getting something Tuesday.

He already ruined three DC movies.
He is going to ruin a fourth.
The man cannot tell a story, and any joy from his visual shtick died off years ago.
No, but please tell me how deep his symbolism is.
Reading a 30 page article on Jesus spears is just what I need right now.

>He already ruined three DC movies

Watchmen is one of the few comic book movies that stays true to the material its adapting. He was the only person to successfully modernize Superman on film while staying true to the character. He was the only person to successfully bring together the DC trinity in a movie and launch a cinematic DC universe with BvS - plus the movie itself has more gravitas, visual flare, and character study than nearly every other modern cape movie.

Snyder needs some help in telling cohesive stories and editing cohesive films but stop with this Snyder is the worst or Snyder doesn't understand these characters meme.
>>
>>83857620
>Stays true to the material it is adapting
Random ultraviolence from the less violent vigilantes, making no contrast between them
Rorschach isn't calm and emotionally broken but an angry and expressive
Big Anakin Skywalker no from Dan when DO IT
Theatrical version cuts out the dialogue between Adrian and John at the end (never saw extended)
Ruins the entire point by replacing vagina squid with an American
All the changes were bad
And Snyder failed to condense everything else and change enough to make it work.

>Watchmen is one of the few comic book movies that stays true to the material its adapting.

Snyder deserves a reward for Watchmen. I don't think I've ever seen anyone do a shot for shot remake of one's source material but completely fail to understand it.

>He was the only person to successfully modernize Superman on film while staying true to the character.
This is just so god damn wrong I don't know where to begin.

>He was the only person to successfully bring together the DC trinity in a movie and launch a cinematic DC universe with BvS

Comics and film are two different mediums.
And really some of the DC animated films are more faithful and better movies.

>Man feels slightly more sure of himself because he has a boner

>>
>>83858339
What was Clark Kent's character development in Man of Steel?
It was a weird non-linear attempt to tell of Superman "coming into his own skin".
But he never stops being a misanthropic fuck up until the very last scene, where he basically throws a temper tantrum over the military monitoring the most dangerous thing on the planet.
Superman never does anything to earn that trust in the movie.
>>
>>83858307
No its just appropriately apocalyptic.
That's like saying the opening credits of T1 or T2 are edgy or the elephant graveyard in the Lion King is edgy.
A film having a menacing/scary scene doesn't fucking equal edgy.

>>

That's just Snyder's career in music videos showing itself.
He pulls a shot for no reason which is 100% symbolism.
Absolute hack.
>>
>>83858507
If by that you mean Snyder is always keeping people on the edge of their seats, then yeah Snyder is the edgiest director alive right now.
>>
>>83858545

Meeting and finding someone to trust in with Lois.
Discovering his origins and destiny.
>misanthropic
Means holding hate towards humanity.
Avoiding them for the greater good of himself and the world doesn't mean he hates them.
Being aware of humanity's potential to do fucked up things doesn't mean you hate them it means your not a naive idiot.
>Superman never does anything to earn that trust in the movie.
---Turning oneself over the military to be turned over to Zod.
---Not taking part in Zod's apocalyptic FL plan.
---Going to destroy the world engine despite being weak around it.
---Destroying the world engine and saving 7-8 billion lives.
---Handing over his childhood ship for the military to use against the Black Zero.
---Killing Zod which also saved 7-8 billion lives if he was truthful in his promise to kill them all one by one.
If that doesn't earn trust nothing on this fucking earth will.

Yeah, because he did that. It's one of the main ways he earns their trust.

Snyder never made a mistake, it's just that the suits at WB don't know what his movies are or what they mean.

>Considering BvS had a standing ovation from them, it's obvious they don't know a thing.

That was either bullshit or after they butchered it.
>>
>>83857926
its actually true, a lot of Man of Steel is taken right out of the comics.

The truck scene is a direct homage to Action Comics #1. The whole roaming the world looking for himself is taken right out Birthright. The idea of Pa Kent wanting Clark to hide himself and his powers until HE was ready is literally right out of Superman #1. There are whole dialogues taken right out of All Star Superman and Secret Origin. The entire Zod invasion mirrors Superman 2 (the movie), and the entire being forced to kill him thing is right out of Byrne's run.

READ COMICS YOU CASUAL.
>>
>>83858764
But MOS & BVS didn't have any plot holes of significance.
>>
>>83857543
It's hard for me to compare MoS and BvS, because though both have some similar problems, BvS has more technical problems than MoS and is more of a narrative trainwreck, but it's still more interesting to watch than MoS, which was pretty boring.
>>
>>83858859
No, they are just clusterfucks with cringeworthy attempts at being 2deep4u full of unlikeable characters.
They are just dull, boring movies.
>>
>>83858889
>BvS has more technical problems

How so?
>>
>>83858644
No, misanthropic means he avoids humans or dislikes them, which he does.
Thinking the world will do fucked up things if you help them using your super powers isn't the greater good.
Thinking humanity is so fucked up that any show of good towards them will cause them to turn into rioting monsters is the very definition of misanthropy.

Further:
>Superman turning himself over is what allows Zod to proceed with his plan
>The army has no way to know Superman isn't in on the plan or have his own agenda
>Superman could have ulterior motives in destroying the world engine
>Superman lets millions die before he kills Zod, when he could have killed Zod back in Smallville, among other places when he knew of his plan
>>
>>83858909
okay, we get it, you're a bit dull. stop shoving it in our faces.
>>
>>83859119
No the greater good I was referring to was if his existence was revealed their would be massive social upheavals in science, religion and such.
Pa points that out after the "maybe" line.

No evidence he dislikes them.
Disliking specific ones and avoiding the whole because of the inevitable reaction of those specific ones doesn't mean you dislike the whole.

Genocides have started over far smaller things then aliens being revealed to exist. Much less Aliens that are powerful enough to kill ever human being on earth by hand.

>Superman turning himself over is what allows Zod to proceed with his plan
ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?
You blaming Superman for not seeing the future? Your blaming him for surrendering in good faith and going to negotiate?
What the fuck is wrong with you?
>Superman could have ulterior motives in destroying the world engine
The 7-8 Billion are still alive regardless.
>Superman lets millions die before he kills Zod, when he could have killed Zod back in Smallville, among other places when he knew of his plan
Thousands not millions.
No there is no evidence he could have been capable of killing Zod in Smallville.
The headlock was pure chance.
And he had no way of knowing Zod would activate the world engine without the codex.
>>
>>83857937
>I never saw Road to Perdition
>>
>>83858838
And yet it was put together so very, very badly, then had all the life sucked out of it by desaturated colors and the horrifically miswritten Pa Kent.
>>
>>83857509

Watchmen was great, like trully great.

Man of Steel was good with prolems but still a really solid film.

BvS might be the lesser of the bunch but it gives everything that a comic book fan would want in a comic book movie, so if that's DC at its worse,DC is doing great!
