One hell of a doc... what does he mean by that? Recruiting for a colony?
>>
>>83852034
I think he's saying that he's risking his neck because he knows that a doctor can be really useful.
>>
Maybe hes going to put himself in harms way so they might escape?
>>
>>83852034
Not recruiting, probably knows where some are hiding out, say the sewers. Some injured, some physically, others mentally.

Is it just me or was the fox's snout shorter and thicker just a page ago?
>>
>>83852513
It could be because that's how Holly perceived him? Remember that the illusion is affected by his point of view.
>>
>>83852513
You'd be surprised how quick an artist will just suddenly make changes if they think it looks better
>>
>>83853031
Hell I remember when Aaron spend pages changing the ubication of the Wally's fang
>>
>>83852513

Refining a design. One of the reason some media has designs change over time - sometimes artists find just better looking ones.
>>
>>83853509
This. Aaron is just refining foxMarx's design page by page.

>>83853620
Kind of liked him better with the short snout. Oh well.
>>
>>83853105
And Holly's front teeth have been getting bigger and bigger.

What the hell is she going to look like in a few years time, especially if Aaron switches to other characters for an arc and goes a while without drawing her?
>>
>>83853706
Who knows maybe the next page he will have the short snout back.

>>
>>83852513
I noticed Aaron's designs for new characters change very rapidly after they've been introduced. Sarah didn't take long at all to evolve an anatomy that resembled Flask's after starting out with tiny stubby gecko legs.
>>
>>83857249
Wasn't that the product of coming back to the comic after a hiatus, though? IIRC it happened to all the lizards...
>>
>>83857353
Yeah, according to him the lizards didn't look frightening as he wanted them to be.
>>
I went back to Aaron's site to look at Aaron Marx comics and well... seems that Aaron from that comic used the same coat, shirt and bowtie as the Fox.

But until we see a dimenisonmeter, I'm holding my breath.

I don't recall reading it in any of the emails I've seen posted here, so I'ma have to treat that sceptically until such an email turns up.

I remember one email where he implied we wouldn't be seeing Eye again any time soon, you're not thinking of that, are you?
>>

>>83859085

Anyone here got a copy of this email?
>>
>>83852034

Probably, also implying that he is either terrible at surviving or that they are making a big effort.
>>
>>83852169

Or he's going to try to try to ditch Holly saying that she has no usable skills. This spurs her when she meets Clive to never abandon someone because they appear useless.
>>
>>83859531
Or maybe Endtown doesn't have any doctors before Doc got saved.
>>83860282
Nigga, the fox dude was looking at Holly worriedly when Doc was being nihilistic. He obviously won't ditch her
>>
>>83860282
>This spurs her when she meets Clive to never abandon someone because they appear useless.
This has no sense, is she didn't want to get rid of Clive despite him being useless, then why she wanted to left Kirbee behind thinking that she would be useless? It pretty obvious that she saved Clive by some reason outside of "don't wanting to leave him alone"
>>
>>83860533
She wanted Clive to be her surrogate son, as Wally has already replaced Lyn. No space for a homewrecker like Kirbee
>>
>>83861242
>No space for a homewrecker like Kirbee
I think that it has also something to do with her hate toward the lizards, after all fuckers tried to feed her with babies, kill Wally for fun and they were imprisoned over a misunderstood.

for being a friday, it sure is dead in here.
>>
>>83864020
People are expecting if the fox guy is or not Marx to enter in discussions
>>
>>83864020
Well today's page was just the fox guy giving a comment about how he's risking his neck for a mouse and a doctor.
>>
>>83864020

There isn't much to discuss yet. Wally and Kirbee have literally disappeared right now. We are just waiting for them to get where Forx is going.
>>
>>83864067
I always forget to get rid of the name when is not fanart
>>
>>83864093
The change in the manner of storytelling is so distinct that I'm expecting it to be important somehow. There's just something up with the way the "audience" has faded away.
>>
>>83864224
Maybe they were driven out of the illusion? That could explain why Lyn look to Wally with rancor: he wasn't supposed to be there.
>>
>>83864113

Too late! now you have to draw him wearing a business suit...
>>
>>83864407
I feel like we would have seen that happen. Feels more like the way the information is being relayed changed to keep up with the action - like the dittos switched to directly relaying mental images or something.

That or Aaron quietly gave up on showing them when everything became too action packed and they'll just show up again unremarked, acting like they've always been there, and we'll just have to deal with how odd that'll feel.
>>
>>83865019
>That or Aaron quietly gave up on showing them when everything became too action packed
This seems to be the most logical, Wally and Co. flying around would have take the seriousness of the moment or maybe they weren't there after all the first car crash show that they can get hurt, i'm sure that will play a part later.
>>
>>83865019
Pretty much.

I mean, they were there when Ethel blew up and we didn't see them.
>>
>>83865262
I feel like they wouldn't have been left behind, though - it seems like it would be plot-important that Wally sees this stuff.

>>83865404
Yeah, sometimes it feels like the ditto-flashback doesn't work as well logically as Aaron would have liked it to.
>>
>>83865576
>Yeah, sometimes it feels like the ditto-flashback doesn't work as well logically as Aaron would have liked it to.
Ineeded, first is established that the witnesses can get hurt in it, and then they see how a house explotes without a scratch. Like some other anon said: the narrative sometimes ignore their existence.
>>
>>83865679
It's especially weird that they showed knowledge of Ethel's appearance and fate without ever apparently being inside the house.
>>
>>83865717
Is possible that they were in the house (only that we don't see them) and just before the buddibombs detonate there was a quick transition to outside, just like when they were floating and in the next panel they were in the cafe. By the moment they meet Ethel they would get used to it.
>>
>>83865789
Yeah, but if there's unremarked transitions there's no reason they can't be visible in the background on each page.

The whole thing kinda feels like a storytelling experiment that only half-worked because something it previously established (these ditto illusions are hazardous) interferes with the ability of the audience-surrogates to always be present.
>>
Can someone describe Ethel's personality to me?
>>
>>83865968
She doesn't have one, her only character was: "person that Holly knows, mutates and dies"
>>
>>83864964

>>
>>83866023
>bank robbers in Endtown

>>
>>83866101
No, no, no

>>
>>83865887

Yeah, the whole thing is clever, but also kind of stepping on its own dick. Honestly, I hope Aaron stops using the dittos as a solution to everything soon. They're basically psychic chameleonic utility fog at this point.
>>
>>83866192
I'm pretty sure that Wally is going to lose all the dittos after this, because with them he's op as fuck, unless Aaron make the dittos have some kind of debuff like affecting the mentality of his user.
>>
>>83866063
Items, like the burglars that blackjack'd Wally and took his stuff.

Probably food, crafting materials, old world items like jewelry, makeup, etc. Meg, I think that's what she's called, did mention a black market when asking where Linda got the cake making stuff from.

>>83866063
Mallard is their fence / main job contractor, he doesn't like to do the dirty work himself. Other heister would be Holly, who's the crazy bitch that murders unarmed guards just for looking at her funny like Waingro.

Jacob Jackrabbit is a contractor who gives jobs to ruin the reputation of enemy politicians, like Allgood and Walt, and improve his own reputation. Most are high risk, and involve direct confrontation with rat security with things such as records and the council.

Holly's teeth have grown to achieve godhood. Many statues and idols of her teeth are built in their honor, where people acquire teeth as tribute for their greatness.

They say those most faithful to the ivory twins can ascend to a plane of pearly white, where the air is always minty fresh, disease and filth are naught to be seen, and good dental plans are given to all. Truly, it's a place of pure bliss for the Teeth Followers

First person shooter, both sides kill in one hit, so ambushes and sneaking are highly recommended rather than jumping straight into combat. Topsiders dust enemies in one shot and have stun weaponry, while mutants have Mallard blasters, capable of stunning and using concentrated blast. However, using the concentrated blast on unstunned Topsiders leads to monster mutation, which can either benefit them by attacking the Topsiders or harm them by turning on the mutants.

Two factions in the game, first Topsiders and the second mutants. There's an AI faction that solely consist of monster mutants, making it a three way brawl for control of the map. Also, respawns are limited by a certain number, say 30 respawns for each team. Once it goes down to zero or the objective is claimed by the enemy team, the match is lost. For mutants, you must stun the Topsiders and directly interact with them to have them mutate into an anthro, which can take some time to do and can lead to a premature death if attacked. For Topsiders, stunning an anthro and then interacting to extract their brain for robots, also leading to a risk of being attacked. If successful, your respawn count rises by 1 while the enemy's is lowered by 1.

Mutants have the added benefit of certain traits depending on the mutation they choose if they acquire a mutated Topsider point, say smaller size for easier hiding, faster running speed, or high jumping. Topsiders remain the same, though through brain extraction one can respawn as a Mutt or Topsider with higher grade weaponry like a Zero Bazooka or better Zero Gun.

Maps set in ruins, destroyed buildings like malls and factories, settlements under Topsider attack with dust everywhere.

Doubtful. 2d to 3d transition is a very rough step, and can lead to characters looking... not so good. It's possible, but not without a lot of money. Topsiders would be easy though. I know there's 3d artists who can do Aaron justice, but I can't say who.

>>83894704
Cont. from this:

Map types are either: Arena, multiple objectives, territory control and project objectives. I have more notions for map types, but none that I can make into a proper idea. Also, a lot of this is from me being tired at around 2 AM, so if it sounds retarded, please say so.

Arena is self explanatory, multiple objectives is a progression type of mode. For example, Topsiders must find a hidden hatch, which is randomized, to go underground, then find the console to open the gates leading deeper within, then finally dust the AI mutants hiding within.

Territory control is like Planetside 2, where there's a giant map with smaller territories that have to be claimed by the two factions. Once the whole map is taken by a faction, they win. Respawn limit is turned off, however, monster AI plays a bigger factor in this, where they can take over territories and spread from their own sectors to attack territories within mutant and Topsider zones. Vehicles are in this mode, allowing for faster movement throughout the map. Frontal charges are possible, though staging guerilla warfare is more advisable. I have no idea how many people should be on each team.

Finally, Project objectives is where there's one main objective and parts must be collected to finish it. Say for Topsiders, a major component for a zero missile must be recollected and rebuilt in order to fire it, while mutants have to stop them from finishing the project. And for mutants, parts to fix a car to help captured mutants escape. Limited respawns is active.

I can't think of that much else aside from really trivial stuff, like cosmetics to please the normies but keeping it within the realm of sense so it's not TF2-stupid.
>>
>>83895484
Solution: Doom-style 2D, just in HD.
>>
>>83895513
Everything's a flat sprite in a 3d environment?
>>
>>83895484
>Topsiders would be easy though. I know there's 3d artists who can do Aaron justice, but I can't say who.
Why not?

I think that the dittos can also contribute to the gameplay, they can help building structures and give abilities to the player like a shield that can repel the lasers or temporary invisibility.
>>
>>83895634
Yeah, it'd keep the charm of the 2D art, and I don't think 3D would hurt too much when it came to the environment. Maybe have props be 2D too, though.

also Larry's player finally confessed he was basically playing as Tom from the Dover Boys

>>
>>83899317
Okay I think it must be something like this: nothing about the world is explained until much later in the game, at first it makes the player believe that everything was like this in the beginning plus the fact that at first hand the player will also believe that this is some kind of light-hearther game. After that the game drops the zero bomb: this takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, also depending on his actions in the game the player gets to know more about the characters and their past.

Okay, here we go
>As the ship sets off from Alcatraz, the fox and mouse are taken to the lower bunks by the remaining original group while the five survivors of the raid party work upstairs
>The mouse guy, thankful for Mundy's rescue, is first to talk
>His name is Franklin Miller, a 19 year old who volunteered to work at Alcatraz in order to stay with the girl he loved
>Two days before today, the base lost contact with a patrol boat
>A day before, a wandering Murk was assaulted by a beastly creature
>Franklin, a low-ranked recruit, was sent with a group of his fellow Murks to deal with the rapidly growing monstrosity that was once a friend
>Before he could raise his gun to it, he was struck by one of it's spiny tentacles and thrown aside
>When he came to, he immediately knew something was wrong by the fact that his suit was too big, there was a gaping hole in his outfit, and the beastly creature was no longer on the beach
>He ran back to base wearing only a portion of his suit out of fear, not fully grasping his newfound speed
>Out of fear, he hid under some rubble, trying to cope with his change while also trying not to catch the attention of either the mutants that were possibly still out there or the Murks he knew would kill him on the spot
>That's when the raid group came in and alerted the monsters that were once human
>After ingesting the information, Mundy tries to get Franklin to stay with them at Pier Villa
>He agrees in a heartbeat
>Debbie, tired, angry, and in pain turns to the fox lady, who is hugging her knees and tail, demanding to know who she is
>She is silent, staring at the ground instead of at the group surrounding her
>Impatient, Debbie threatens the fox
>She finally snaps, trying to run out of the room
>Debbie catches her and throws her back on the bed
>The fox is crying at this point, pleading for death
>Daniels is more than willing to oblige and pulls out her gun
(1/?)

>>The fox is crying at this point, pleading for death

>>
>>83906216
>Annie shoves the female dog before she can pull the trigger, sparing the mutated Murk's life
>Debbie pulls the "you killed my husband" card in her rage
>Larry finally does something and stands up for Annie, saying that what happened in the hospital was an accident
>Debbie, pissed as hell, leaves the room
>Finally feeling stable, the fox lady finally opens up
>Her name is Velma Vicks, a patrol captain for the APEX Alcatraz base, and the reason Debbie's husband died
>Mundy successfully comforts her enough to keep her emotional level in check
>She continues, admitting that she was trying to save herself when she threatened Annie, hoping the otter would believe that a piece of rebar was the barrel of a gun, and that she was the only survivor of the mutant attack
>Exhausted from the events of the day, the five of them decide to call it a night
>Worried that Debbie may come back to hurt Velma, Mundy decides to sleep in the cot next to her
>The next morning, one of the raider five, a ferret guy, knocks on the door, announcing that the crew landed in the Pier Villa port
>Most of the colony is there to congratulate the party, believing that the nine of them destroyed the Alcatraz base and saved two mutants
>In the president's office, Annie, Mundy, Larry, Debbie, Franklin, and Velma tell the truth about what happened
>The president of Pier Villa tells them that what happened and who Franklin and Velma really are must never leave this room
>The six of them leave the offices, back into the streets of Pier Villa
>Annie returns to the hospital, tired of adventures and the body counts they bring along
>Larry and Mundy show the two new citizens around town, the fox and the hare close together
(2/2)
>>83906642
was it THAT obvious? Gosh, I better change up my plot twists.
>>
>>83907013

Dude, been DMing games for 22 years now starting with WFRPG. After a while you see through intentions and learn how to be Munchkin as fuck and then reject that knowledge and find fun in just making fun characters... I mean my current character in Endtown RPG is Munchkin as fuck (6, 6, 7 due to combination of Large and Cervine, giving him an edge in both fighting and skills), but I play him as a super goody-good character, so he will never utilize his full potential as a broken character.

And the ending is really sweet. Gonna cap that stuff and maybe do a little scene for that or something.
>>

You gotta push it further, man.

She becomes a love interest that lasts for a long time. She comes along on adventures, but seems to survive on what seems to be suicidal missions with the group. Eventually, both the character and the players assume that she's FUCKING INVINCIBLE for living so long. Love between Mundy and Blackwater Fox continues to grow, leading to dating, maybe even marriage, depending on how Mundy wants it to go. If the game goes on for a while, you can say she got pregnant to add on the tragic points, but that's optional and can be fucking weird / awkward for the players if not done right. You gotta play this long term, really get the characters attached. Just killing a character that appears for three sessions isn't enough, they might be sad / upset, but not too much. It has to be a staple in the game that characters interact with for a long time.

Once this long term relationship has been established, have the group go out on a mission without the Fox. Once complete and they return to their home base, tell them once they try looking for the Fox that she's gone. Have them ask around, see where she went. Other characters say she went out to find you guys, despite everyone's warning. Have them retrack, not find a single thing. Except some signs of Murkys.

Keep the signs subtle, make them work to find where they are. They have her tied up in one of their bases, treating her like they did Flask once she mutated. Kept in a pitch black room, poked, prodded, cut open, but kept alive. She's on the brink of death, eyes giving a thousand yard stare, she's not responding to anything, has to be carried out. Even if she survives, she's broken. She hasn't tragically died, but she might as well be, a husk of her former self. She can give basic answers, eat, just barely sleep, but she's always giving that thousand yard stare, never having any real emotional input in anything.

Sorry for the edge, I just love tragic stories.
