I know that supervising directors usually make notes on the boards and probably do some touch ups on storyboards, maybe provide some additional boards, and with the storyboard supervisor tell the Storyboard Revisionists what the revise. I don't really know what writing influence they had (probably not much, given that they aren't in the "story by" credit)

Smooth lines are all about long, uninterrupted strokes, you'll want to avoid "hairy" lines.
it can take a lot of practice to get them down to where it's just second-nature, but the stabilizer in SAI can help a lot as well.

They made progress on those things but nothing really super conclusive.
Learned the tiniest bit about Finn's backstory and then his dad ascended to a higher plane of existence. Made a lot of progress on Ice King, getting near to the point where he'll inevitably be cured during the show's finale or something like that.
If you decide to catch back up with it it sounds like you got maybe 2-ish years of episodes to work through.

My greatest fear is that they are going to have songs that try too hard to be deep. Flame Princess may be in this episode, so you Foebe shippers still have hope. Bubbline shippers may also get more to obsess over. These are all just possibilities, not my prediction.

I say this because the mood doesn't feel right, and it feels awkward. Marceline's songs are justified. It isn't a requirement, but if you want your character's personality to be consistent I would. I guess you're right about my fear, I just don't want songs that are poorly written. I have to remember that isn't going to be a musical episode, but it isn't like the circumstances present in "I Remember You." "The Music Hole," features a battle of the bands, and the likelyhood of emotional songs may not be so high.

Well Finn isn't exactly just a teenage boy as we know. He has a lot of baggage because of himbeing some cosmic being that came on a comet to OOO a long time ago and he reincarnates and sometimes carries the burden of one life onto the next.So not exactly just 'A Teenage Boy' really. So his character bouncing around a bit at times is understandable or it could just be bad writing :D.

I believe the guy was one of the more level-headed characters in the earlier seasons. He sure as hell was more than old Bubblegum, Marceline or Ice King with his "I have to make everything right" persona. He was always the arbiter, the one to mediate problems. And when things got rough, Jake was there to drop the occasional words of wisdom to keep his head screwed on tight. Then the FP breakup arc came and everything tanked from there.
