Being a mutant has only gotten her killed or stuck in shitty story lines. Her best ones are the ones that deal with Limbo, or magic, and being near Colossus turns all her motivation to "muh brotha". She would be better off not being a mutant or at least being allowed to leave the X-men.

Xavier fits perfectly on the sliding timeline, he's not tethered to a real life event like Magneto, they first meet as young-ish men in a clinic for traumatized Holocaust survivors, all that needs changing is making it an Holocaust museum or something, it makes no difference if Magneto is 30 or 60 at the time, as long as he appears the same age as Xavier.
